Mission: To support johnston memorial hospital, inc. , a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, through funding and program efforts designed to ensure better access to healthcare and to improve the health of the residents of washington county, va and the surrounding areas.
Programs: Johnston memorial healthcare foundation, inc. ("jmh foundation") was formed prior to johnston memorial hospital inc. 's merger in 2008 with mountain states health alliance ("msha"). Jmh foundation is the minority owner (49. 9%) of johnston memorial hospital, while msha owns the remaining 50. 1%. Since the hospital's merger, jmh foundation's funding activities and programs moved under mountain states foundation's umbrella in order to take advantage of the larger foundation's leadership, experience, and expertise. Mountain states foundation includes a division for each community served by a msha hospital. The johnston memorial hospital arm of the foundation continues to financially support johnston memorial hospital with capital projects.
