Mission: Jewish residential services mission is to support individuals with psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, helping them to live, learn, work and socialize as valued members of the community.
Programs: Supported living provided individualized support services to over 50 adults with chronic mental illness and/or intellectual disabilities living in their own homes scattered throughout the east end of pittsburgh.
howard levin clubhouse provided psychiatric rehabilitation services to a membership of over 150 people with an average daily attendance of 30 members.
young adults in transition offers educational programs and advocacy opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families as they address the changing needs moving from youth to adult services.
jrs completed a strategic plan focused on the following major goals: the development of a new residential opportunity for young adults with disabilities to live in a single-family home in squirrel hill; the construction of 33 affordable apartment units for people with disabilities and a new space for the howard levin clubhouse in a key location within squirrel hill; the implementation of a fundraising campaign to support capital building projects, infrastructure improvement and on-going operations. Jrs furthered its goal to build an inclusive community by assisting individuals with disabilities to live successfully and independently in the community and to develop and maintain meaningful social lives. Through its psychiatric rehabilitation program,jrs helps individuals with mental illness develop and work toward recovery and develop employment skills that enable them to enhance their abilities, to further their career and life goals and to pursue job opportunities.
