I have been a volunteer with the Jewish Federation of Delaware for nearly 3 decades-the longest I have volunteered with any agency- That, should speak for itself. Over the years I have seen JFD thrive and bloom expanding programs and activities to help "repair the world."
Seth Katzen, the current Chief Executive Officer, has brought a new vibrancy to JFD and been the driving force behind major new programs and activities, to benefit greater Delaware and the Brandywine Valley community. He is a true visionary, who treats volunteers and staff with mutual respect that is unrivaled. I hope to be a part of JFD family for many years to come.
I have been a volunteer for many decades with an affiliate of the Jewish Federation of Delaware-The Halina Wind Preston Holocaust Education Committee-and have seen the Federation thrive and grow to become an amazing organization, comprised of individuals who are driven by passion and heartfelt commitment. Over the years, under the leadership and devotion of Seth Katzen, the JFD has expanded its reach, to provide a vast array of needed services to Delaware and Brandywine Valley community. I am honored to be part of this organization.
The Jewish Federation of Delaware is the “glue” that binds our small yet vibrant, inclusive and forward-looking Jewish community. “Stronger Together” is not just a slogan, it is the way in which we make the whole greater than the sum of our parts - though professional gatherings, education for all ages, community events and a cross-community commitment to the sick and needy. Federation is not complacent but rather committed - through strong professional and lay leadership - to proactively managing the threats and opportunities that will drive and determine our future.
I've served on sub committees of the board, through the years, and on fund-raising committees, as well. And, I've always been impressed with everyone I've worked with in leadership roles. The staff, continually, inspires volunteers to become more engaged in programs and events. And they provide great direction and support in all they do.
I've been inspired by the leadership at JFD. They are committed to serving our local Jewish community and worthy projects in Israel. They produce exciting, relevant events that bring the community together.
I'm especially excited about the effort that has been made to promote the Create a Jewish Legacy program. And I'm proud of the success that our agencies have achieved with the support of JFD.
Jewish Federation pf Delaware, with the help of Seth Katzen and others, has helped me forge connections with the Jewish Community in Delaware and connected me with people who understand my desire to retain my Jewish identity despite moving to a place that was unfamiliar. My work with j-Voice and on the Federation's Board has been rewarding and fun, and I hope to continue using my newfound connections to facilitate good relations between the organization and my own congregation in Rehoboth Beach.
Jewish Federation of Delaware is the most outstanding non profit in Delaware. They have assisted the Dover Interfaith Mission, a men's homeless shelter in Central Delaware for the past many years. DIMH has sheltered over 2500 men in the last 10 years, over 85% have found employment and have been able to get their lives together,
If you are looking to have an impact on the Jewish community of Delaware, look no further than the Jewish Federation of Delaware. From cradle to grave, the Jewish Federation supports Jewish continuity and our communal responsibility to take care of one another through its support of agencies like our community center, Jewish Family Services and day school, as well as in-house programs like the Israel shlicha, Jewish Community Relations Council, PJ Library and PJ Our Way , Shalom Baby and the j-Voice Monthly. I am a proud to serve as a volunteer and donor!
Jewish Federation of Delaware does an outstanding job of convening the Jewish community, supporting the Jewish agencies and organizations in our area, and representing our interests on a local level, and, through their allocations, in Israel and around the world. I'm especially thankful for Federation's PJ Our Way initiative, and the impact that program has had on my son.
The longer I am affiliated with Jewish Federation of Delaware, the more I learn about how far-reaching and effective it is as an organization. I could not be more proud or more impressed with the scope and magnitude of its work to benefit those in need! It has never been better!
The CEO Seth Katzen and Sr. VP Wendy Berger and President Bill Wagner never stop working to make JFD the top notch organization that it is. We are so very fortunate to have them and the entire extraordinary staff!
It's very enjoyable to work with them all as well as with the Board of Directors.
I am co-chair of the Annual Campaign along with Barb Blumberg. I can't say enough about Jewish Federation of DE in terms of both the organization itself and how much great work that it does to support Jews through its vital programs. The CEO is so capable, and so effective, besides being a mensch. Wendy Berger in Development could not be more hardworking, dedicated and resourceful, besides being a mensch too. The staff is all great; upbeat and fun to engage. All in all I'm very very proud to spend time volunteering to support the excellent work that JFD does locally and all over the world.
I am affiliated with the Jewish Federation of DE through attendance at various events and meetings. JFD exemplifies an organization of inclusiveness, community coalition building, and tireless campaigns to help those in need locally, nationally, and around the world.
The Jewish Federation of Delaware is truly wonderful. Their programming serves the entire community, from the children (PJ Library), through young adults (i.e., a symposium about Jewish genetic diseases and what to do about them), historical perspective (Holocaust education), and the international Jewish community (Jewish life in Argentina). They have something of interest for everyone. Their financial support for Delaware organizations, national Jewry, Israel and other Jewish communities around the world is amazing. The staff headed by CEO Seth Katzen and Wendy Berger, Senior Director of Philanthropy, is responsive to the needs of the community, making each person feel a special part of it. Delaware is really fortunate to have JFD!
It is difficult to sum up in a few words the amazing work that Jewish Federation of Delaware does. They are an organization with a heart. From educating our young (Albert Einstein Academy) to Jewish Family Service to caring for our seniors (Kutz Home), JFD is there. The programming efforts are ongoing, interesting and plentiful. JFD's connection to the national and international organization makes one feel a part of a large family. The staff is caring, friendly and efficient. Our community is truly blessed to have JFD in our lives.
The Delaware Jewish community is unique in the degree of comity, cooperation, and collaboration among its many institutions. The Jewish Federation of Delaware is the "glue" that makes it possible. Their CEO, Seth Katzen, makes the resources of JFD (for example, its wonderful jVOICE Weekly and Monthly publications) available to Jewish community agencies, institutions, and congregations to promote their own programs, as well as encouraging collaborative programs. My family has been touched by, and touches, many JFD programs and agencies, including the Jewish Community Relations Committee, jVOICE Monthly, Albert Einstein Academy, and Lodge Lane.
I love that the Jewish Federation of Delaware (JFD) acts with a mission not just to benefit itself, and not just to benefit its agencies, but to benefit and unify the entire community. Their Create A Jewish Legacy program is benefiting numerous synagogues and Jewish institutions, providing training, resources, and financial incentives to build legacy bequest programs to ensure the future of the community and its institutions. I participate in that program as a representative of a synagogue. I am also on the editorial committee of JFD's publication, the Jewish Voice. It is truly a community-wide communication tool for both events as well as issues of concern.
I could not be more pleased with the services provided by the Jewish Federation of Delaware. This organization's leadership team always finds creative ways to meet the diverse needs of our community here in Delaware and around the world. I am proud to be a part of, and to support, this amazing organization.
We in Delaware are so fortunate to have such a fantastic organization in Jewish Federation Delaware. From the award-winning JVoice publication (If you don’t subscribe to it, you really should!) to the incredible programming, we are constantly benefiting from this non-profit. The support this umbrella organization gives to other Jewish agencies makes a huge difference in our community. We really are Stronger Together!
Jewish Federation of Delaware stands out as the best of the best when it comes to non-profits in our community. I'm a volunteer for various organizations and there is something truly special about Federation. Delaware is a tight-knit community that depends on our Federation to support us and unite us, and under Seth Katzen's outstanding leadership, we are certainly Stronger Together.
The Jewish Federation of Delaware Inc. makes a huge difference in Delaware. This organization touches so many people on so many ways. I participate in many of the programs and organizations, currently serving on the board of Hillel at the University of Delaware and Gratz Hebrew H.S. grant program. I am a member of the Israel and Overseas committee and others. This organization supports the creation of a strong community of people that care about each other and help each other. I love being a part of this community.
I truly enjoy doing volunteer work with the Jewish Federation of Delaware. Our CEO has created an amazing organization with staff that is well trained and always helpful. The committees that I am on are well run and accomplish a great deal. The combination of volunteers and staff allows our community to accomplish a great deal in a very positive way.
Great organization that works hard to bring a diverse community together and share resources in a way that moves everyone forward.
Jewish Federation of Delaware works tirelessly within the Jewish community--and partners beautifully with the non-Jewish community--to make a meaningful difference in the First State.
In the past year, I have seen the Jewish Federation of Delaware bring our community together both financially and practically. The Federation unifies our Jewish community, giving everyone a place they can look to for guidance and support. In the wake of the tragedy in Pittsburgh, it is more important then ever that our Jewish Federation is strong and active so that we can tackle the problems and embrace the wonder that is Jewish Delaware.
As co-chair of the Women's Philanthropy Division, I was encouraged to take part in the February 2018 Jewish Federations of North American Heart To Heart mission to Israel. Not only has the Jewish Federation of Delaware gave me amazing opportunities but the staff is so very invested in making sure everyone who is involved feels valued.
Jewish Federation of Delaware and our connection to Community, Israel , and world-wide Jewry is a life-long commitment now passed generation to generation in our family. We continue to grow closer and stronger together.
Jewish Federation of Delaware headed by Seth Katzen who is a tireless and dedicated leader, continues, every year to educate, and touch the lives of not only the Jewish community and Israel, but all communities in our State. I am a proud volunteer
I am proud to be a volunteer at this excellently run Jewish Federation of Delaware. I have met wonderful people who are dedicated to serving the community and Israel, two important interests close to my heart.
The breadth and reach of what Jewish Federation of Delaware does is as great as any organization I know. Within Delaware, it acts as a community facilitator to bring Jews of all denominations together -- whether at a community Shabbat (in what other State does every congregation, of all denominations, annually pray together?), through music festivals, film festivals, speakers, women's events and other great events. It also supports our fabulous beneficiary agencies that make our community special -- the JCC, the Kutz Home, our incredible Jewish Family Services, the thriving Hillel at University of Delaware, and Albert Einstein Academy. The JCRC is active, and PJ Libraries has exploded onto the scene. In addition, as a part of JFNA, JFD is there when disasters strike in the hurricanes of Houston and Florida, the fires of California, etc.; and we support our wonderful, growing sister city in Arad, Israel. And I didn't even capture it all! This takes incredible leadership, and we have it in Seth Katzen and Wendy Berger. In short, this is a truly amazing organization that I am proud to be a part of.
I have been associated, in a volunteer capacity, with the Jewish Federation of Delaware since at least the early 1990’s. I have served in many capacities with the Federation including President, Co-chair of the Jewish Community Relations Committee (presently) and I am a Board Member. Throughout this entire tenure, regardless of its leadership, the Jewish Federation of Delaware has been motivated to assist persons of all background and faiths to improve their lives, ease suffering and promote education. Its interaction with the community at large has always been one of its strongest points and is a prime reason I still maintain my active association with the Jewish Federation of Delaware. What impresses me most about its present leadership is the efficient and skillful manner by which it performs its tasks in allocating precious resources for Delaware’s Jewish and non-Jewish communities.
I have been involved with the JFD since the early 90's in multiple capacities including past President and current Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Committee. The ability of the Federation, through its staff and volunteers, to positively impact Delaware's Jewish Community and its reach into Israel and the general community through its various partnerships never ceases to amaze me. Through my involvement I have the satisfaction of being part of something bigger than I am and, in the process, I have become a better person.
JFD has been a part of our lives from the moment we arrived in Delaware many years ago. Federation supports several of the community agencies that have been a very important part of our family's lives. We have been active volunteers also a now serve on the board. Federation is an exceptionally well run organization administered and staffed by people who really care about their mission and run a very efficient agency. It is an honor to be a part of JFD.
