This is the worst JFS I have ever contacted. I emailed and called them many times for help and they never responded.
During our financial hardship because of my spouse being ill and out of work for a few months the jfs of plantation has helped us as much as they are able to. I want to thank barbara Bailin for her compassion & kindness. Our world would be a better place with more people and nonprofit organizations like the jfs. Rating is the highest possible
JFS HAS HELPED ME TO HEAL & BRIGHTENED MY FUTURE IN SO MANY WAYS. I'VE HAD AN EXTREMELY DIFFICULT PAST & THE KINDNESS & EXPERTISE OF EVERYONE INVOLVED AT JFS GIVES ME SUCH HOPE & HAPPINESS. JFS IS AN ORGANIZATION OF ANGELS ON EARTH!!
I have observed and witnessed the action at JFS from all sides - the clients, the volunteers, the boardmembers, the professional and the lay staff. I can only sum it up in one sentence: You couldn't pay people enough to find this level of care, compassion, commitment and dedication!
When I first became familiar with Jesish Family Services (JFS), I thought they only assisted a selct group of our population. After learning more and more about them, I am blown away by how many people they have helped, cutting across all boundaries of color, culture and creed. They are the best kept secret in Broward County. I am hoping that by writing this review, i will encourge more people to support JFS as well as check out the services they offer. My personal passion is Domestic Abuse and JFS supports victims in more ways than most other agencies that do not have this as their primary cause. Please give generoulsy, donate your time and see the lives that you can change.
JFS provides much needed resources in our community and does it with compassion and dignity. We make a donation every year to this wonderful organization and we encourage others to do the same.
3 years ago I was diagnosed witk ALS, a hideous disease that simply has no cure. I had alot to deal with ~ I did my share of crying and then I knew I did not want to, could not want to spend whatever time I had left in darkness. JFS of Broward County, Florida took my hand and led me to the light. I discovered a family of people who cared, truly cared about making my life more livable again. From fear came hope. JFS put me back on my feet in the most personal of needs to larger more pressing problems. When I was filled with doubt...and my resourse's were gone, JFS swept in and brought with it courage, relif, and hope. That feeling if having something to look forward to, finally returned. JFS is an important community resource that provides counseling and social services to those in need. Services are provided in a caring, professional manner. Clients can always expect to be treated with dignity.
JFS is a wonderful charitable organization that helps the neediest in our community. They do it with great compassion and organization, whether it be meals for the elderly or help paying a bill. They have programs for domestic abuse and for Holocaust Survivors. Their services offer dignity and a lifeline to all people regardless of race religion income or status. I am proud to be a volunteer.
It has been my pleasure to be a part of Jewish Family Services for the past 5 years. This organization is so diverse in what it does that it is remarkable how they do it everyday! The community at large benefits so much from the amazing work that the individuals selflessly do each and every day. The stories are unimaginable to hear, and it does my heart good to know that JFS has changed peoples lives just by being there. The work that the staff and numerous volunteers and donors do has impacted so many people, from the young to the old. Their ability to keep dignity within a person is what Jewish Family Services does so well. Jewish Family Services touches our entire community, they are non denominational, and only want human beings to be human beings and be able to survive the everyday hardships that life sometimes deals us.thank you for all that you do.
JFS is an organization that I am proud to be affiliated with. I have a huge amount of respect for the professional staff who handle their clients with compassion and respect. While volunteering in so many areas, I have seen the priceless work that is being done to help our seniors, holocaust survivors, and victims of domestic abuse, etc. My involvement, financial and time spent, has definitely enhanced my life by connecting with other volunteers, the professional staff, and the clients of JFS that receive these services. Jewish family service is an agency we can all be proud of!

JEWISH FAMILY SERVICES OF BROWARD COUNTY IS AN AGENCY THAT DOESN'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD "NO". ITS LAYLEADERS ALONG WITH PROFESSIONALS CONTINUE TO SERVE THE NEEDY IN SPITE OF THE REDUCED ALLOCATIONS AND FUNDING. MORE PEOPLE HAVE COME TO DEPEND ON ITS SERVICES FOR FOOD, COUNSELING, AND SHELTER, BECAUSE OF OUR ECONOMY. IN ADDITION, THIS AGENCY HAS BECOME A COALITION FOR DOMESTIC ABUSE THROUGH ITS BRANCH, KOLOT. RECENTLY, OUR 4TH ANNUAL LUNCHEON, ATTENDED BY ALMOST 400, RAISED FUNDS FOR THE MANY PEOPLE WHO FACE DOMESTIC ABUSE. ANOTHER PROGRAM WHICH ALSO FACES REDUCED FUNDING IS GEARED TO THE HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS. BESIDES THE GROWING NEEDS OF CARE THEY NOW RECEIVE, JFS SPONSORS AN ANNUAL PROGRAM CALLED CAFE EUROPA WHERE SURVIVORS GATHER, MEET ONE ANOTHER, AND SHARE THEIR STORIES OF TRIUMPH WITH THE DIGNITY THEY RIGHTFULLY DESERVE. I AM PROUD TO BE A VOLUNTEER FOR THIS ORGANIZATION.
I have volunteered for this JFS for more than 6 yrs, both in house helping with administration and outside delivering food to shut-in's. JFS provides a range of social and emergency services to the neediest in the community. There is an genuine atmosphere of respect for both co-workers and clients. And the level of professionalism I witnessed is rare among on-profits.
I have been involved with JFS for several years both as a board member and most recently as a volunteer delivering food to the elderly. It is a very efficiently run organization with an extremely caring and close knit staff. The work they do for the community is extremely needed. and unfortunately never ending.
As a member of this board we have started over a year ago to find more dollars to have to meet the critical needs for shelter food and medicine requests that come to this agency every day. We have the same challenge raising dollars but have been able to raise increased dollars to meet peoples basic needs. While being able to respond to crisis needs the dedicated professionals work diligently to help find longer term solutions for peoples problems.
I have been involved as a volunteer with JFS of Broward County for many years. This is in an organization where the needs of the community are its top priority. There work to improve the lives of those served from birth to death. The work that JFS does for Holocaust survivors, abused women, families in crises, individuals inflicted with AIDS, those in economic need, and the homebound seniors is exraordinary. The organization works efficently and without fanfare.
Every year I make a contribution to the Kolot luncheon and whenever I can to assist the coalition with the work they are doing with domestic abuse services, caring for the elderly, the Holocaust survivors, as well as the financial assistance and food they provide to those in need. They are an incredible and dedicated group and I will continue to help them with my support.
Jewish Family Services is an excellant community service. Helping Holacaust Surviours or dealing with domestic abuse they are always there to help. I have worked with the program delivering meals for shut ins and have attended the Kolot programs as well. Everyone is extremely helpful and very knowledgable.
Some organizations are real. JFS of Broward is one of these. Staff are dedicated, modest and serious. Board members are there to provide service and support the organization, and not for their own egos. Jewish Family Service Broward does the hard work of caring for people in crisis, people without resources, people who are elderly, sick or mentally ill, even people who just need a little help to climb over the next obstacle in their lives. They do it all superbly, with heart and soul, fulfilling Mitzvah and Zedakah.
Coming to Jewish Family Service as a volunteer more than 4 years ago, I discovered an organization dedicated to helping the most needy in our community. Within less than a year, I became a part-time member of the support staff and am still thrilled to be associated with this group of caring professionals. JFS touches the lives of thousands each year, from elderly shut-in's who receive monthly food deliveries to counseling clients to in-home care management to emergency financial assistance. And lots more. It has been an honor to be here, and do and give what I can.
JFS of Broward is an extraordinary Jewish non-profit. I chair the KOLOT (Voices) coalition at JFS where volunteers and staff work together to provide aid to Jewish victims of domestic abuse. JFS has helped countless families this year weather the economic storm working overtime to provide food and financial assistance to those in the community with dire needs. JFS took budget cuts, but didn't let services wane. Just this week, I and 20 other voluteers held produced our 4th annual luncheon, educated 380 attendees about abuse and raised money for JFS... and exciting and exhausting experiece!
As President of the Broward Domestic Violence Council it is an honor and a privilage to sit at the table with this agency and the KOLOT Coalition. This organization is a tireless advocate for victims of domestic violence. In the Jewish community it has often been the hidden shame. This organization has made it possible for victims of domestic violence to speak out, be heard, and get help and most important get their lives back.
