We joined the JCC in 1993 so my youngest son could go to preschool there since we heard they had the best program in the area then and I'm sure now as well. We have stayed members ever since and will continue to support this vital resource to the community. I was a very active volunteer there while my son attended preschool, leading a major fundraiser, Rafflemania which was very successful. I later became a board member there as well. All my experiences with the JCC have been nothing but positive and FUN! The staff there is all wonderful and a joy to work with!

The JCC is a home for all ages from infants thru the elderly. The Day Care and pre-Kindergarten are considered among the best in Broome County. The weekly meetings for the seniors is a highlight for that age group which stays connected by volunteering their services. The facilities are first rate and attract a large number of non-Jewish members. Last but not least is a first rate Day Camp and Sports program.

Our family of four is very blessed by the JCC. We primarily use the fitness room and the pool but also enjoy some community events. The staff are excellent; we enjoy the young people who are working their way through school and admire the commitment of the professionals. Our children are not involved in the programming but it is obvious the staff are attentive and programs rich. The diverse cultural mix of folks who utilize the Center is a delight as well. The dedication to Jewish heritage combined with the open-ness to include others in the facility makes our membership all the sweeter. The cleanliness, safety and overall operation of the Center are excellent. We love our membership at the Center!

The JCC is a wonderful community institution. I love the gym, the heated pool, and the many activities that take place there. The pool offers water exercises, and once one has taken a few classes, one can do the exercices on one's own on the days the classes are not offered. The health club is warm and inviting, and always has a daily copy of the local newspaper.
In short, the JCC is a place where everybody knows your name, and is an asset to the community.

I have been a member of the JCC for 17 years. Swimming in the pool is such a pleasure because the water is warm and it's rarely crowded. I used to attend their family-oriented activities with my kids when they were younger but we all still enjoy their lectures and classes. It's just a friendly place with a real community feel.

Both of my daughters have attended preschool at the JCC. The staff is wonderful, and the facility is exceptional. I am fortunate to have found such a place, one that allows me to go to work every morning secure in the knowledge that my kids are safe and well cared for.

I attended water exercise classes for a number of years after a physical therapist suggested them. Very freindly and welcoming environment. Three years ago I joined the JCC, mainly as a way to show my support for this valuable member of our community.

The JCC has been my home since infancy. Walking through the front doors, I can dependably find a familiar face and excited smile. The members and staff which make up this incredible center have both inspired and helped to define me. Twenty four years later, I still feel at home within its walls. Thanks JCC! I feel privileged to be a part of such an incredible community.

I believe the JCC offers a number of great services for our community. It has stepped up to offer expanded child care, after-school and snow day care for children of all ages. I use its fitness room facilities and find the equipment and assistance to be first-rate. My family takes advantage of the pool for swimming and lessons. Both my 7 year-old son and 3 year-old daughter have learned to swim there through the excellent tutelage of the swim instructors. Overall, the JCC's greatest asset is its staff and volunteers who are friendly and helpful. I think this is a hidden gem and as a Christian, I agree with its slogan: The JCC is for Everybody!

I have been a member of the JCC of Binghamton since I moved to town in 1985. During that time I have, and presently serve in several of the roles above: Volunteer, Client served, Board member, Donor, Advisor etc.
The JCC has provided my family with a place to belong and a safe, nuirturing evironment for my children to grow up. The Center (or 'The J' as members call it) provides programing and facilities to the entire community, regardless of race, religion or ability to pay. The J has an outstanding preschool (providing over $100,000 in schoolarships/yr to families in need), workout facilitiies, pool and playground (to keep us healthy), Day and night adult and child educational programing and more. Currently, the Gym is being shared (as home court) by three different CYO basketball teams (one Christian, one Muslem, and one Jewish). What other facility has done something like that? And it just happened...they asked and the JCC said 'sure".
Other functions and events include an Ethnic Festival, Summer day camp, Outside speakers, tournments, community gatherings and more. The J also serves as home base for the Jewish Federation of Broome County, Jewish Family Services and The Reporter Group of newspapers. 92nd Street Y satellite programing is starting in Feb. with year round programs scheduled.
I feel that the JCC of Binghamton has and is making my community a better place to live and to bring up our children. I am proud of what it represents.

I have been involved with the JCC since it moved to its current location. I have volunteered in many capacities and for the last 15 years have been using the exercise room 3-5 days a week.

The people I encounter are warm, friendly and caring and at the JCC you are a name, not a number.

I have been a member of the JCC since 2002. During that time I have taken advantage of the exercise facility and swimming area. I have found the staff of the fitness center to be friendly, helpful and good folks to be around. I took one swimming course and learned enough to help me improve my poor swimming skills.
Also I have two grandchildren who are in the day care program. I am very impressed with the quality of day care. Periodically my wife and I have
attened the educational programs run by the JCC. They are of high quality. I think my membership is money well spent.

I am thrilled with the youth programs at the JCC. My daughter started in the ECC when she was 10 months old. She started Camp JCC when she was old enough, has attended for 7 years and can't wait for it to start every summer! She loves it there. It is her favorite thing in the world. She has created life-long friends there. The staff is great and take special care to watch out for her food allergies.

I have been a member of the Binghamton JCC for over 15 years. The JCC strives to be an all-inclusive community provider. I have found the employees and volunteers to be warm and dedicated.

The JCC is hampered by the difficulty of funding such an organization in tough economic times, but they do a great job of stretching the dollars that they do receive.

My son has attended JCC since he was 18 months old. The ECC program there creates a loving/learning/nurturing environment that has helped my son excel both educationally and socially. He is very well rounded! My daughter will be starting in a toddler room very soon and I am excited for her and her future experiences.

I am not only been a volunteer at the JCC of Binghamton, but my children attending pre-school and day-care at their Early Childhood Center, my husband and I have enjoyed many social fundraising events there, we work-out and do fitness classes there, our family enjoys the warm indoor swimming pool - the list goes on and on. My family is also donors to trhe JCC.

For someone not from this area, but now call it home, the JCC has been a 'home away from home.' The people are friendly, it is always a place where we are welcome, and the facilities, both outdoor and indoor serve a lot of purposes.
