The Jersey City Fire Foundation was formed by identifying the needs of the firefighters who serve this great city. The mission statement was to provide training, specialized equipment, and safety in the performance of their duties.
The Foundation has acquired grants and funding through public/private partnerships. Since its inception, the board has explored various ways to expand the mission to serve our dedicated members.
We now provide scholarships for high school seniors entering an accredited college, university, or service oriented trade school.

The foundation has done a tremendous job in supporting the needs of Jersey city Firefighters with necessary supplies and equipment that are not provided by JCFD
The Jersey City Fire Foundation was born of a discussion about how to assist the department with training, development, and giving college-bound students a running start with scholarships. In its 14 years of existence, the Foundation has secured specialized equipment, needed firehouse supplies, and scholarship awards to high school seniors entering college.
Growth albeit slow is moving closer to our mission through fundraising, grants, and donations. The inclusive mix of board members assures a balance between department personnel and civilian inputs. Various events and planning are taking the Foundation mainstream and with public/private partnerships forged, I'm confident we will meet our goals and objectives as outlined in our yearly, as well as our long-term mission forecast.
The Jersey City Fire Foundation provides life-saving equipment and training to the men and women firefighters of the Jersey City Fire Department. All donations enable us to fulfill our mission "For Our Bravest" This Foundation has given so much back to the fire department community and without the foundation the members would not have all the necessary equipment to perform life saving measures!
