I get to come to work in a family environment and help veterans overcome their barriers that made them homeless. I have heard from some of our clients that they are surprised at how much we care and how hard we work to help them get permanent housing. The staff are wonderful, there is not a day that goes by that we are not helping each other if needed. I love coming to work every day.

I have been a volunteer with JAVC since 2014. In that time, JAVC has helped thousands of forgotten Veterans through their "Stand Downs", "Resource Fairs" and personal one on one assistance. This includes finding them a roof over their head, pay medical or dental expenses, assist with gas to get to work, connect them with any necessary resource they need. Pat and his team go out of their way to fight for Veterans. Need transportation to medical facilities or to the local VA clinic, call JAVC.
From continuing to help a single Veteran at a time to soon being able to help 25 Veterans at once with their new Operation 6 facility. Upon completion, these Veterans will have temporary housing, free meals, access to resident Certified Substance Abuse Counselors, a resident VSO (Veteran Service Officer) to assist them with their VA Benefits.
To further help them transition into becoming self sufficient, many local job creators have already signed up to provide "On the Job" training, other counselors will be help them "learn" how to create a resume and what to do in an interview.
Anytime I run across a Veteran who needs direction or assistance, I always give them the phone number to JAVC. Everyone who I see later on thanks me for putting them in contact with JAVC. "They helped me" is always their response.

Rumor has it Dorn Fat Pat knows how to B.S. at his old age.

But he doesn't know how to exit a vehicle properly.

Car-Ma broke his foot.

Laugh out loud.

Dumbass.

"Backwards is good!" - Dorn

Until he steps out of his vehicle, gets his foot stuck, and falls - BACKWARDS!

Rekt.

This organization is a disgrace and every 5 star review is from staff members and residents that make money but don't know how to take care of themselves (so they live here).

Slap yourselves.

Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council has been the greatest opportunity I've ever had. The program was excellent, the staff was great. I was able to start a whole new life. If it wasn't for them, who knows where I'd be today...I owe them my life...

I've been with JAVC for 8 years primarily assisting with donor financial management and digital accounts. The most heartwarming experiences for me include actually getting a chance to visit with a homeless veteran and thank them for their service. JAVC has grown to a charitable organization known for their excellent service to assist our veterans and going the extra mile to make sure things work out for them. Our veterans deserve a smile, handshake and a hardy "thank you for your service!".

See the photos and the video I have posted. You'll get a better idea about our efforts.

JAVC has continued to help Veterans for over 10 years by securing housing for homeless Veterans, working together with other local Veteran organizations to assist Veterans with special programs, therapies, employment, food, clothing, and other "hand up" issues. In less than two years they have secured housing for 65 Veterans, a real miracle in the housing market in Mohave County. The exceptional dedicated staff truly cares about our Veterans.

This is one of the most active and supporting Veteran and community oriented non-profits in our state. They are there to help.

This group has long worked together for Mojave county helping veterans and their families. From starting the first Stand Down in the county to starting a veteran homeless shelter for veterans with substance abuse. The interaction with the Jerry Ambrose Council and other veteran organizations in Mojave county they have made a strong support system for all veterans. They were also instrumental to the starting the Veterans Court in the 3 major cities of Mojave County.

This is a non-profit that goes out of its way to help veterans. It assists veterans with a place to stay for a couple of days, helps in getting veterans to the right resources for paying bills or getting their vehicles fixed. Its also a transitional housing program for homeless and at risk veterans, helping them to find jobs and a place to live that they can afford. The people who work here are truly vetted in what they do and will do all they can to help a veteran. I'm proud that I know these people and am a part of something great.

I have been a volunteer with JAVC and a donor for three years. I first became aware of JAVC while doing volunteer work with our local Court system. JAVC provides services to Veterans which other agencies provide but they do it quickly and aimed at filling individual needs. Unlike other social service organizations that provide services and meet needs, but turn folks away if they can't provide what that indiiviual needs or the individual doesn't fall into a certain category. JAVC either meets the need or finds someone who can. While working in the Court system with Veterans in need I can see that there is no other organization in our community that does what JAVC does for Veterans.

I want to start out by saying that the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council (JAVC) is an amazing organization. I have seen them transform the lives of many fellow veterans from generations before mine. Many of these veterans would be considered forgotten people by today's society, despite the contributions and sacrifices they made for this nation of ours. But, not at the JAVC. They are always there to give veterans a hand up, for all that they have given back.

Tri State Military Moms,Inc. Has been working with JAVC for several years. We have a mutual relationship that assists veterans in Mohave County. We are smaller, and focused mainly on active duty service members, but when there is a veteran in need, we collaborate and share the funding resources to fulfill the need. They are there when other agencies cannot be reached after hours or on weekends. It’s a great working relationship and team effort!

The Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council has been such an exciting addition to this County.
Thru their continued research and communication for Veterans,
Hundreds of Veterans are now getting their services. The Stand Down they Provide has saved the lives of many.
They are the connection for information for all Veterans and active duty Military.

All Service organizations should reach out and support their programs.
They are a WIN WIN combination.

Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council does awesome work helping those Veterans in need as well as other homeless or needy families. They work hard, volunteer where needed helping the community. My personal thanks for all they do on behalf of their organization as well as working with the Mohave County Continuum of Care. Working on reshaping and rebuilding lives through from the Veterans Stand down to making a special trip out to Dolan Springs to bring a Veteran in for medical treatment or providing services whenever there is a call for help! They are the first to be there with their resources or a referral to other agencies that can help! Thank you Pat and Casey Farrell for all you do for those you serve:)

The JAVC is a local, grass roots organization that has taken up the challenge of actually doing something about veteran homelessness and those veterans who are “at risk”. Each member of the outfit has a different role, and most either represent or are affiliated with other organizations who are also involved in the effort. We have 75 resource agencies and over 150 volunteers.
One of the major goals of this group is to build an additional shelter in the Kingman/Bullhead City corridor that will serve the needs, as much as possible, of the hundreds of homeless veterans in the area. The needs of “at risk” veterans are met, as much as possible, by donations of time and labor.
Operating on a shoe string, the JAVC has conducted a “stand down” in Bullhead City for several years. I have been to many stand downs and this one is the most successful and best organized I have seen, with representation of numerous government and private non-profit organizations.
The honcho is Pat Farrell and has the support of his lovely wife Casey. (Casey is actually in charge of everything … we all know how that works.) Pat was recently inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame and deserved every ounce of it; joining several Medal Of Honor winners with ties to Arizona and historical luminaries such as Frank Luke and Barry Goldwater. Pat and Casey are also involved with the American Cancer Society and a fair number of other, local, charities.
I, myself, am a notorious blanket smuggler. Every summer I journey to Bullhead City and Phoenix and accept donations of blankets and heavy clothing. In October and November I then deliver them to the shelter in Flagstaff and also here in Kingman. In 2011 ten homeless people, veteran or not, died from exposure in Flagstaff over the winter. In 2012 it was down to 8, in 2013, down to 5 and down to 3 in 2014. The JAVC is literally saving lives by their efforts. Please join us. We need your moral support, your prayers, and yes, we need your money.

Being new to the area I wanted to do something to make a difference in my community. This group took me in and from day one I felt wanted. I saw how my volunteering did make a difference to the veterans that gave up so much so that I could have a comfortable life. It breaks my heart that society has cast our veterans to the curb but I am so proud to belong to a group that values and cares for people who just need a little help. The Stand down that we hold once a year is a truly amazing show of support to our displaced and downtrodden community.

The Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council of Mohave County is an amazing resource for helping veterans and their families get what they need. The president Pat Farrell & his wife Casey are two of the most giving and generous individuals I've ever encountered. Their commitment to the organization is unprecedented
