Mission: Jefferson rural clinic is a volunteer-operated non-profit providing low-cost medical, dental and health education services to uninsured indigent adults in the appalachian counties of jefferson and grainger, tennessee.
Programs: Provide medical, dental, counseling and health education to the uninsured, indigent population of jefferson and grainger counties. In partnership with carson-newman university and south college and local volunteer medical and dental providers we provided 549 medical appointments to 204 patients, 286 dental appointments to 149 patients and 1082 lab tests. Revenue received this year is in preparation for a full-time dentist who is scheduled to begin work in the new fiscal year, providing dental services to as many as 750 patients.
I have volunteered at JRC (Jefferson Rural Clinic now d/ba/a 'doing business as' Joining Hands Health Center) since it opened nearly 14 yrs ago. Never have I experienced a more giving team of volunteers who work hard in active love and service in order to meet the mission of healing and hope! What a privilege it is to work alongside doctors, dentists, counselors, nurses, and assistants in all areas who pitch in to make this healthcare center the absolute best it can be. Huge thanks to all supporters who make Joining Hands a mission dream come true!
