in november 2012, jaaa contracted with southwest kansas area agency on aging to be one of eleven area agencies on aging also serving as aging and disability resource centers. Adrc's are the first point of entry for kansans applying for medicaid in-home assistance provided through the kan-care system. As an adrc, jaaa staff provide information, referral and assistance, options counseling, functional assessments and pre-residential facility placement assessments.
