This organization is doing fantastic things for the community in ways no other is doing!!!! Hats off the an incredible Phagwah celebration!! All other Holi or phagwah are watered down, degrading, always have a fight or police attending or have nothing to do with the true meaning of holi or our culture. The ancestor program wow didnt know we were freed from Indentureship 100 years ago this was interesting and educational to know. The dances are top class and represent each country top of the line!!!! No one else or organization doing these kind of thing or this level of work!!! The Director Denise B is blessed!!!! Her concepts and ideas and unreal and marvelous .... Cant wait for anything they do .... All millionaires, state, county, donors, professionals, and philanthropist need to donate and give more to this organization!!!!!

Had a wonderful time at the holi even march 18th thank you Denyse and Jaya Devi
It was a great event that served the purpose of educating the community on "What is Holi?", as well as bringing different community members (broward, palm beach, etc) to showcase their talent and celebrate the festival of colors while still preserving the culture. Overall, the event was very successful and full of entertainment.
Had the great opportunity to perform for their Holi show in Lauderhill. The event stayed true to the real meaning of this religious holiday and I would definitely go again and would encourage others to come along as well. They also hired a group all the way from Suriname and they were phenomenal. Everything was well organized and I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
Great Holi event. family oriented and focused on the true essence of the celebration
It was a great event I experienced in Florida with Jayadevi Arts on March 18. The only organization receiving sponsorship from Florida State and County in the Indo-Caribbean community. It was a pleasure for me to participate. The Hamare Purvaj was a great experience. I had to call the elders in my family to get an ancestors song and came up with "Batohiya". A song our ancestors used to sing while planting rice and sugar cane reminiscing about their homeland. The Phagwah section it was amazing to see the American born youths so involved. Jayadevi gives them a platform to express and showcase their talent. Hats off to Jayadevi for having a clean no alcohol Pandit approved Holi/Phagwah. The Best Holi festival in the traditional way. Great to be apart of this event and this organization. Thank you for representing my country Suriname my country's music Baithak Gana and dance Londa Ki nach. Nice to see all the Youth in Florida doing Suriname music!!!! i feel blessed!
Wow I attended a great event March 18 3 segments in 1 day 1 event!!!! Totally enjoyed the ancestors the music reminded me of my grand mother and great grand mother. This segment had me emotional and took me back to great memories of my ancestors. The holi segment was clean family oriented and truly appreciated. Jayadevi Arts U are doing great things for our community keep it up....
I attended Jayadevi Arts Inc 5th United Phagwah/Holi Celebration on March 18, 2017 at the Central Broward Regional Park and was not prepared for what I saw. It was trilogy; you got a little history, demonstrations, the cultural and the artistic sides. Definitely the best to date!
I liked the trilogy concept. Showcasing our ancestry while simultaneously keeping it relevant by reaching out to the millennials & younger with the social media celebrities was ingenious.
I recently attended the "Ganges Meets the Nile" at the Miramar Cultural Center and once again, I was captivated by this performing arts production. It was a fusion of Indo-Caribbean and Afro-Haitian drumming and dancing. The venue definitely provided the professional environment to showcase an event of this caliber. At a time of such divisiveness, it was so refreshing to see these 2 groups of performers unite to show that we have so much more in common than differences. Congratulations on another fantastic event! Congratulations go out to the performers, technical staff, support staff and the JAI Board. Can't wait to see what 2017 will bring! After watching this fantastic show, it solidified my commitment to JAI's growth and development.
"Ganges meets the Nile"...a true cultural presentation. Great all around performances from various youth group who entertained us for 3 solid hours. This presentation was very well executed and I can't wait to attend your next show.
Recently, I attended "Ganges meets the Nile" produced by Jayadevi Arts and it was very entertaining. It showcased Indo and Afro Caribbean cultures under one banner. I was excited to see so many youths of different cultural background participated and choreographed so skillfully. Great entertainment; I can't wait to see the next production.
It was a wonderful show. I had an amazing time and as a dancer I felt very loved by all the audience. It was a great experience to see the different cultures come together and put on a great and interesting show. The food was great, the show itself was beautiful and very memorable, and a great group of audience.
I joined Jayadevi Arts about a year ago and has continued my participation since this is the only place that works together with the public to bring together different cultures. In our recent show we had the African Americans and the Indo Caribbean were portrayed in the smashing hit "Ganges meet the Nile." A few salsa steps were also incorporated in one of the dance. As times goes on I am sure our choreographer Ms. Denyse Babolal will bring in more of the different cultures that make up our great nation, "The United States of America."
I performed at the Ganges meets the Mile event Sept 10, 2016 @ Miramar Cultural Center. Coming from Suriname South America it was my first time performing in such a great Stage/Theater. it was a great show!!! Nancy St Leger and Jayadevi dancers were the Best!!! Love the Moko Jumbie dancers they dont have like that in Suriname. Jayadevi keep up the great work and thank you for having me as a Singer in such a high class show.
it was great participating in the United Phagwah Holi Celebration in Florida March 2015. I was amazing to see Florida Indo-Caribbean people uniting in a great festival. It was nice to meet sooo much people from different countries. Thank you for the opportunity to represent our country Suriname in Florida.
Jayadevi is soooo such a great job in promotion Indo-Caribbean culture and arts in America
I have attended several shows hosted by Jayadevi, leaving NYC just to reminisce about he good old days. That's what Jaya devi does. The organization bring back the good old days, the old times. Makes you remember how it was so that we can take our children back to where it all started. Some of the things we had forgotten even. But that's what Jaya devi does. Does not let you forget what our ancestors brought to the Caribbean, for us, for our identity.
Wow Jayadevi was given an opportunity of a life time!!!! to participate in a photo shoot for Broward County Public Arts & Design 40th Anniversary. Jayadevi Executive Director was awarded the Diversity and Inclusive Award and received the award from Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner. So far 2016 is heading in an amazing direction and hope Jayadevi continues to fly!!!
The United Phagwah/ Holi Celebration was spectacular!!!! Another amazing event! The Group from Suriname was fantastic and the dance style from Suriname was very interesting and incredible. Thank you for exposing use to our rich culture and art forms, we didnt know existed from the other Indo-Caribbean countries. The participation from the other organizations and the partnership from the Broward Sheriff's Office and Crime Stoppers was a FIRST in our community!!!! It was a great accomplishment to have the Broward County Co-sponsor this traditional culture. This is the first time this kind of event received funding in the US.
Thank you Jayadevi Arts for keeping our cultural alive and exposing and educating the larger American community what out little countries have to offer.
Jayadevi Arts Inc dance groups is phenomenal. .... preserving bhakti devotional dances, folk dances, classical dances in kathak barathanatyam, or a fusion of the two styles, chutney, soca chutney n soca. I feel very proud this organization tell the world who are indo Caribbean arts and culture..... keep up the good work jayadevi dancers and we, the community, are proud u really going international and higher!!!!!!
Jayadevi has become an outstanding organization in Florida. They need more support from the community, foundations, corporate and government. They are doing amazing things that should be appreciated and recognized more.
