After retiring 3 yrs ago, I knew I wanted something to do out of the house. I knew I wanted to do something with small children and/or animals. Since I am already babysitting 2 of our 5 grandkids 1X per week, the natural direction was to look for a volunteer job with animals. Jameson Humane is a natural fit for me. I thought I wanted to walk dogs or hang out with the cats, but help was really needed with 15 of the 65 bunnies that had been rescued from a Napa neighborhood. What a treat! I clean their pens and hang out with them to get them accustomed to humans so they are more adoptable. Yes, I love visiting all the animals on the Ranch, but I must say that the people that run this non-profit are fabulous! I hear their appreciation for my volunteer work everyday I am there and they are all just good people doing what they can for animals. Nothing but 5 stars for these folks! So proud to be a part of the future of Jameson Humane.

My name is Chloe Faris and I have been a volunteer at Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch since February 2020. Jameson not only rescues, feeds and cares for the animals of our region, it cares for the people too. Personally, I find Jameson Rescue Ranch a respite from the calamity and stress that I have experienced in our society lately. I go to Jameson Rescue Ranch to take care of the cats living there. It is a calm and serene place where my heart can rest. It truly feeds my soul to play with, feed, brush and snuggle with our feline ranch friends. People in our community visit the ranch to meet and eventually adopt these kitties. It is such a fulfilling process to see these precious animals go to their forever homes.

One Jameson program in particular that I recommend to everyone I know is the Senior Citizen Pet Wellness program. This program assists Seniors and their animals by providing supplies, food, care and exercise for their pets. Seniors thrive when they are able to keep their animal companions with them and Jameson makes sure that can happen. My next step in my volunteer career with Jameson is to train and help out with this valuable program.

The staff at Jameson are AMAZING! They are kind, hardworking and truly care for all animals. They are always saying, "Thank you so much Chloe for all your hard work for our kitties." I feel so fortunate. It is really 'I' who should be thanking them for providing a place where I feel so great and the animals benefit too. HUGE hugs to Monica Stevens, Director and the whole staff for creating such a 'Heaven on Earth'.

I am so excited to share my story as a volunteer with Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch (Jameson)!
I am so proud to share, I am the very first volunteer as a foster for Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch since 2014, and my life is changed! My daughter asked if I would keep an eye on a small dog while she was at work, that had been rescued by Jameson; with hesitation I said yes for the day, then two days, then three, then, well I'm still keeping an eye on Annie, 6 years later. (I adopted her) Yes, I adopted her, after Annie and Jameson stole my heart! The love, empathy, and support they continue to provide for Annie helps keep her healthy, safe, and at home with me; I would otherwise be forced to surrender Annie as I live alone and on a very low income. I'm not lonely any longer since Annie found me and I continue to volunteer for Jameson's Senior Citizens' Pet Wellness program, visiting other senior citizen's to deliver pet food and supplies for their animal companions and walk their dogs.
I am in awe as a volunteer and witness to all the amazing work Jameson does every day, providing solutions to keep more and more animals healthy, safe, and at home. Thank you Jameson for providing a happier life for me, Annie, and Annie's brother, Bear who was also a fostered dog from JARR. My heart is forever for the animals and Jameson!
Sincerely, Ruth Hust

I have been volunteering at Jameson Humane since December 2019.

I started out socializing the pigs. What I learned is they are very smart, quite quick to learn, and food driven.

Then I helped out with the cats. I quickly realized that while some cats are aloof and take time to warm up to me, each has his own personality.

Then I was grooming the horses. Big and small. Old and young. Very inquisitive and loved the physical attention.

What I noticed overall, was the level of care Jameson crew gives these animals. They had established routines, thought about enrichment programs to stimulate good behavior for all the animals they have at the ranch.

I am now working in the senior program helping out walking a dog for an older person that isn’t mobile enough to excercise her own dog. I am happy that this program is available because otherwise, they may not be able to stay together.

As you may know, our area has been hit hard by the devastating wildfires in Northern California for several years in a row. This has had a severe impact on the local communities of Napa Valley as a whole. Jameson is handing out dog food to the local community who needs help with feeding their dogs.

As the saying goes, “It takes a Village.” Is an understatement. Together we can all make a difference. Whether we are paid employees, volunteers or able to send a donation, every bit is needed to help these animals not only live their lives but thrive and be loved. They deserve it.

If you love animals you will love Jameson animal rescue! Their compassion for animals starts at the top and trickles down making contact with the employees and volunteers alike.
They are there to help an individual or a local large-scale crisis such as in the recent wildfires. It takes a lot of energy and dedication to maintain their rescue efforts and still they continue to reach out further into the community to offer assistance. Jameson Animal Rescue is truly remarkable.

I have been donating to this organization for several years and this year upon retirement I started volunteering. The environment for cats, dogs, pigs, cows, horses, chickens, roosters, and pigeons is stellar. All animals are treated with respect and love including the most healthy diets, ongoing medical tracking and care, and a focus on comfort and living comfortable and fulfilling lives. It’s an amazing respite for so many animals and I feel so lucky to be able to partner with dedicated staff members to nurture cats, pigs, cows, and more!!

I feel privileged to volunteer at the Jameson Rescue Ranch. Their services are designed to meet both the needs of rescued animals (of all species), but also the communities in which animals live.
I chose to work in the community outreach arm of Jameson.
Here, disabled or sick or underprivileged community members with pets, can be matched with volunteers. Food, flea medicine, support for veterinary visits and just walking are available. I love helping dog owners and dogs. The staff at Jameson are amazing people and the clients are soo appreciative. I’ve found my niche to give back to my community In Jameson Animal Rescue.

We are currently fostering out second dog with Jameson. Both dogs had/have very different needs and Jameson has gone above and beyond with what we need to support these dogs in addition to the loving environment we can provide for them. Nothing makes us happier than being able to support fosters, whether it be a puppy needing some behavioral training before its forever home, or us being the last home for a senior with medical needs. Our current frosty-faced resident has enriched our lives as much as we have hers, and financially we would not have been able to do it without Jameson. Communication with staff is SO easy, prompt, and kind (I share tons of photos with them!). They genuinely care about the well being of every one of their animals in addition to also supporting the community needs for animals from the constant emergencies in our areas which includes feeding pets that no longer have homes due to fires or owners who lack funds due to COVID and also finding shelter for displaced pets all of sizes and types during fires. We look forward to helping hopefully many more senior dogs in the future.

I've been a volunteer with Jameson Humane for several years. I love the work that they do to ensure that ALL creatures, great and small, are loved and cared for. Their presence in our community is invaluable. The team involved have hearts as big as Texas and are compassionate about Jameson's mission to create a better planet for animals and humans.

I learned about Jameson Humane during the 2017 wildfires in Napa and Sonoma. I signed up to help with the 6 horses rescued from the Tubbs fire. After the horses were moved to the Jameson ranch on Cuttings Wharf, I continued volunteering by feeding, cleaning, grooming, walking and loving the many horses rescued. There are also pigs, cows, rabbits, cats, dogs, pigeons, and chickens rescued and all animals receive the very best care physically, with veterinarians and from the staff and volunteers who dedicate themselves to these animals. The kindness and love given to each animal can be seen in the animal’s positive response.

I have been working with this animal rescue organization for the past six months. They are doing an outstanding job in the rescue, care and treatment of animals that otherwise would not have a chance. I am proud to be part of an organization that cares so deeply about the well-being of all the beautiful creatures living on the ranch. The animals’ full needs are met on a daily basis with compassion, grace and love. It has been inspiring to be able to help in some small way to enhance the lives of these precious animals.
