I am so happy to have met the Jacob’s shoes family! This organization is truly doing God’s work by helping impoverished and unfortunate children and young adults. I am a guidance counselor in the Miami Dade School District and I have come across so many students who are struggling to come to school on a regular basis because of many reasons. One of which is that they do not have proper footwear and shoes. As a result, their attendance is low which affects grades and learning. Jacob’s Shoes have facilitated a shoe closet for our school. Students come to the closest and select beautiful and comfortable shoes. This has created a great feeling of confidence that translates into learning gains and higher attendance.

FoundCare recently partnered with In Jacob’s Shoes for our annual Back-to-School Health Fair, and the experience was nothing short of amazing! As a community health center, FoundCare is dedicated to supporting families in need, and In Jacob’s Shoes aligned perfectly with our mission.

Their generosity was overwhelming—they provided over a hundred pairs of shoes and hundreds of socks to children in need. The excitement on the kids' faces was heartwarming, and the parents were absolutely ecstatic and so appreciative. Many expressed how much it meant to have this burden lifted, allowing their children to start the school year with confidence and excitement.

Madalyn Chusid and her dedicated team didn’t just stop at the event. After we ran out of shoes, they generously provided more for the participants who had left empty-handed. Their ongoing support has made a tremendous impact on underserved children and families in our area.

My name is Eric Diaz and I volunteer for Foundcare.org. We are an FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) that provides quality healthcare and social services for all individuals and families regardless of insurance or ability to pay. We throw a yearly Back-to-School Health Fair and this year partnered with In Jacob’s Shoes for the first time. In Jacob’s Shoes provides new and gently used shoes, socks, backpacks, school supplies and athletic gear to local children and families in need living in South Florida. They provide children in need the opportunity to walk with pride, and go to school and play sports with dignity. Our first year was a huge success. Madalyn Chusid and her hard working crew and community of volunteers provided 130 pairs of shoes and 300 pairs of socks for our kids!!! Can you imagine the smiles and the laughter?!? And if that wasn’t enough we received another shipment of shoes after the Health Fair for our surplus walk-in clients. They are also available to us year round should any of our Care Coordinators have a need. What a great and amazing organization. I can’t wait for next year.

Jacobs shoes has supported our participates in Choice to Change, Inc, for the past several years supplies our youth with shoes and school supplies. Maggie goes above and beyond to assure the youth have a positive school start. I love her compassion she shows to touch the lives of others. Thank you for being such an amazing gift to our community.

I am a representative with Christmas in July another nonprofit. The Jacob S Zweig foundation provides all the shoes for our big event every July. We could not do it without their help! In Jacob's Shoes has provided the School District of Palm Beach County's McKinney-Vento Program (homeless education) with high-quality shoes for students experiencing homelessness for the past several years. At this point, we are talking high hundreds if not thousands of pairs of shoes. Each pair has been of high quality and in excellent condition. With their help, we have established four shoe closets throughout our large county. They have also assisted us with specialty athletic shoes needed for our students engaged in extracurriculars like baseball, football, basketball, and soccer. We are continuously amazed!

In Jacob’s Shoes is the bomb! Maddie and the girls in the warehouse are awesome and never hesitate to help the kids at my school with shoes, book bags, and socks! I don’t know what my school would do without their constant assistance to the most needy students. The families are forever grateful for the shoes and so am I.

I am pleased to say that Christmas In July(nonprofit that helps homeless children) has partnered with In Jacobs Shoes for numerous years. They provide shoes for thousands of homeless children throughout the County. They go above and beyond on an annual basis and I have personally seen them in action pulling the shoes and have had the pleasure of working alongside them. I am also amazed that with such limited staff, they can accomplish so much. They’re one of CIJ’s top partners and we could not provide all of the shoes without them.

I work for 4KIDS of South Florida and Mattie and the team are phenomenal. Whenever I have needed shoes or backpacks, she always comes through in a pinch. She doesn't give us anything that isn't the absolute best.

So many of our students in Broward County are lacking the basic essentials and In Jacob's Shoes has provided them with a very important one! New shoes make anyone feel happy and our students are more self confident when they are well dressed. The staff at In Jacob's Shoes has always gone out of their way to pick the very best for our students and will go above and beyond what we ask for and add items to our requests. Jacobs Shoes has been a gift to thousands of children at Family Central we had a young boy who wanted to go on a field trip with his class and was unable to go because he didn’t have a pair of sneakers we found him sitting quietly in our office and the day before Jacobs Shoes had donated shoes to our agency and this child was able to go on his field trip we were able to put him in a wonderful pair of sneakers off he went laughing and smiling on his class trip

Jacobs Shoes also donated many pairs of work boots to our agency a group of us took over 45 brand new pair of work boots to a farm in Palm Beach and gave them out to the laborers working on the farm. One of the gentleman who we gave the work boots to started to cry he said that in his life he had never had a new pair of shoes and he held them close to his chest and we could tell that this will be a gift that he will always remember

It is such a pleasure to volunteer with In Jacob's Shoes (The Jacob S Zweig Foundation). This nonprofit organization serves children and families in need in Broward, Miami/Dade and Palm Beach County, Florida by providing shoes and school supplies. They work directly with school social workers ensuring that those in need receive their assistance. They also work with other local charities, police departments, and schools to coordinate getting proper shoes on children's feet. This is a much-needed service that gives recipients dignity and confidence. I am proud to be involved with this professional nonprofit organization!

I have been associated with this amazing charity for several years. The Zweig family has done such amazing work to help underprivileged children in the South Florida community to have properly fitting shoes and school supplies each school year. I have helped with fund raising. I cannot say enough about their dedication to this project in memory and in honor of their son, Jacob. They have mobilized the entire community to help collect new and gently used shoes, distribute them, and have fundraisers throughout the year to be sure the children are served as the need arises. It is an honor to be associated with this amazing organization.

IJS helps children and adults retain their dignity. Not having shoes or shoes that are too small and worn is embarrassing for kids and adults alike. It is an outright sign of poverty. Because of IJS kids can attend school with pride and concentrate on their studies or play sports as IJS also supplies various types of athletic shoes.

I first became involved when I was invited to help distribute shoes at a county back-to-school event. Seeing the happiness and pride on the faces of the children who picked a pair of well-fitting, new shoes - it was awesome. I was a volunteer many times. I would love to help them out again. The staff is amazing. Ms. Shelby is very professional, and friendly with everyone. They are all super nice, and very accommodating too. All the girls are very good at their jobs making the shoes beautiful for the children that receive them. Ms. Shelby is the most persistent and detail oriented cleaner I have ever seen! She can take almost any shoe, no matter the stains, and make it look brand new! That girl needs a raise, Hahaha!

I am a Case Manager for the School District of Palm Beach County. I have had the extreme pleasure of working with this agency for five years. I've been working with In Jacob's Shoes for a few years now and the mission of the foundation makes me really happy because we're able to supply kids with school supplies and shoes to be able to succeed. In Jacob's Shoes reached out to our organization to provide new tennis shoes to our college students. We award college scholarships to students with financial need, and this was such a wonderful surprise. All of our new scholars were given a brand new paid of tennis shoes. We have also been the recipient of college designed tennis shoes so that our students will be able to show their college pride! These are not items our students can afford to purchase. They truly want to help us help our students.

Just a little insight into this great organization.
I partnered up with “In Jacob Shoes” 6 years ago. I met the founders and staff at a back to school event and since then we formed a great partnership and they have been very generous with their donation of shoes to Dist 6 CP and PBSO. They have been providing me Cleats and Basketball shoes for my PAL football and Basketball teams. Then they started supplying cleats and sneakers to other teams in the league. That morphed into supplying shoes to most of the sports programs out in Belle Glade through D/S Ken Torrence. We now use them for all our needs throughout Palm Beach County, Homeless children, veterans, families in need due to fire, finances, etc. Back to school events, work programs ETC. Just about every CP event we have, where there is a need for shoes, we get them from “In Jacob Shoes”

I have volunteered at in Jacob’s Shoes for over a year. I love spending time there cleaning shoes knowing that I am helping other kids in my area who are in need. It is so important for kids to get shoes!

I have relied on Jacob's Shoes for the past 3 years to help families who experience homelessness, unemployment, and other disasters. It is important to note that the students who receive shoes are grateful and wears them immediately the next day. The families I assist become more hopeful and are able to move closer to their goal of becoming financially stable as some of the burden of something as simple as receiving shoes for their kids is lifted.

I didn't know what to expect. After all, cleaning shoes is not at the top of my favorite things. I found the experience so satisfying, just sitting and scrubbing and chatting with my AARP volunteer friends. I worked on a pair of size twelve gym shoes and imagined a young basketball player using them. I cleaned a small pair of girls shoes that were possibly a size 2. I imagined a little girl being so excited about her "new" shoes. The folks at Jacob's Shoes were well organized and committed to their work. They do a great service in the community and for the underprivileged.

I did several referrals for Broward school students and I must say that the service that IN JACOB'S SHOES provide is fantastic. Through Jacob's Shoes, I was able to assist my family that was in a domestic violence situation (she left all of her kids stuff behind). Mother was so grateful when she received new shoes for her child! Since I also work with Immigrant families that do not have any resources (i.e., shoes are the last thing on their minds); In Jacob's Shoes was a blessing in disguise! In Jacob's Shoes is an amazing nonprofit that meets the needs of the community in ways other nonprofits are unable to. They provide shoes for individuals and large scale events like the various back to school bashes. A new pair of shoes not only helps with walking but gives students confidence. Maddy works quickly to fill the orders and pick up is always seamless. In Jacob's Shoes also allows teenagers to volunteer to get their service hours for graduation so not only does it serve the community but it allows its members to give back.

I was able to become a volunteer for In Jacob's Shoes during their back to school drive. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget as long as I live. The images of kids being able to try on different shoes and being their personal chaperones was super awesome! This charity always takes pride in being able to provide shoes that are in the best condition possible so they can be reused and have been able to help multiple scores of people over the years. "As a crisis worker in Broward County I work with children who are in the foster care system. Often times in my program we are referred children who have just recently been removed from their homes and placed into care. In Jacob's Shoes organization allows me the opportunity to engage these children, build rapport and trust, and provide them with shoes items within days. It is an amazing agency and organization. The staff go out of their way to take each individual shoe request as an opportunity to do wonders, finding specific items in their stock to match any and all criteria of the children, age, gender, interests and needs. Thanks to the organization I can also provide not only the children but also their siblings with items they need. Many times the children make them their primary shoes worn every day. Others utilize the sports items to be able to join and participate in athletics when otherwise it might have been difficult to do."

I took a group of volunteers from our company to help out clean and sort shoes that will be donated to many in need within our community. Maddy is great and she is so passionate about their purpose. She showed us a beautiful video of many of their events and the excitement of the kids when receiving their shoes and backpacks/supplies. If there was a six star rating this non profit would earn it!! In Jacobs Shoes is an amazing organization dedicated to serving others. They never say no! They help BRoward County students who are in need of shoes and other necessities. If they don’t have it, they will find it. I can say nothing but glowing things about the people who run it and their mission.

IJS is a great organization that really cares about the people they serve. They take a great deal of care to get the shoes to those who are in need. I have never met a group of people more passionate about making a change in someone's life.

This organization and family and support is the most incredible I have ever seen or experienced. In Jacobks Shoes is a wonderful charity, I have had the opportunity to see the staff and volunteers in action helping less fortunate children throughout our community. Through their never ending shoe drives and cleanings they have helped put new and gently used shoes and sneakers on thousands of children’s feet. They also are a wonderful outlet for people in our community who want to help and express and share their good fortune with others. What started out as a shoe drive charity has grown to include book bags, school supplies, donated sports equipment and even shoe closets in many of our local schools. I have always felt blessed to be on the giving side of charity and I have never been part of one I have felt this proud to be part of. Thank you

I have been a supporter and participant with In Jacob's Shoes for the past 7 years. I will not go into the reason d'etre for this non-profit, but I will say that what they have done in the past 7 years is fantastic. Hundreds to thousands of well cared for and cleaned shoes have gone to the neediest in our tri-county area. History has taught us that 'well polished shoes' were/are a sign of structure and growth. The faces of those who have received a pair of 'new' shoes is infectious. The feeling of 'belonging' with a 'new' pair of shoes is the difference of being accepted or not. In Jacob's Shoes has contributed to the psychological needs of hundreds of youth in the tri-county area that can now attend their classes with more of a feeling of dignity and strength. SHOES make the person... In Jacob's Shoes helps those who are in need of basics, like a clean, 'new' pair of shoes. Support In Jacob's Shoes with donations of good used shoes or a contribution of funds. Help In Jacob's Shoes help those who are not able to help their children, let alone themselves.

In Jacob's Shoes is a wonderful non-profit that gives back to those in need. In addition to collecting, cleaning and redistributing shoes to all children in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, the monies they raise is spent on new shoes, school supplies, athletic equipment and camp scholarships. I have volunteered to help distribute shoes at Back to School events and it is so rewarding to see the smiles on these kids faces when they have a great pair of shoes that fit properly to start off the new academic year. It truly sets them up for success. I cannot speak highly enough about all the good they do for the community.

In Jacob's Shoes is so deserving of this honor as it has provided dignity and honor to allow children to wear shoes that fit! Have full back packs to attend school proudly and possibly experience summer camp. This family ran organization and it's many hard working volunteers has turned a tragic event in their lives and made so many children smile. I am proud to be a volunteer for this organization as are my children.

The work - to provide children, who otherwise would go without, with shoes, sneakers, and school supplies - is done in memory of a young man who had a vision of helping those in need but, sadly, will never get to see the extent to which his family took that vision and grew it to become an invaluable part of the South Florida community.

Jacob's shoes has created miracles for many of the children and families served by Family Central. Many of our children never had a pair of sneakers or a pair of shoes to wear to school or to wear to play.
Jacob's shoes donated boots that we were able to take to migrant laborer's in Belle Glade, shoes for a young girl going to a school dance, slippers for a grandmother, shoes for babies first learning to walk.
The Zweig family is dedicated to helping thousands of children feel good about themselves as they proudly wear their new shoes. Jacob's Shoes has sent children to camp, collected backpacks, and never said no to our children's needs. Since I do not live locally, I do not participate in the day to day work of this organization. Being a part of the annual event in May allows me to see the countless hours of work & devotion that goes into helping In Jacob's Shoes meet their goal of making a difference for local children. In Jacob's Shoes was started in memory of Jacob Zweig. This amazing charity makes an important impact on the lives of thousands of girls and boys in need. Kids who might otherwise not have shoes to wear or supplies to start their school year, have smiles on their faces because of what Jacob's Shoes provides for them. You can feel the love that goes into this wonderful organization that fulfills a necessity for these children. I am so proud to be a part of in Jacob's Shoes.

I am a school social worker in the Broward County Schools. In Jacob's Shoes serves our children by giving them shoes whenever we ask for them. If any social worker has a child(ren) whe are in need of shoes we just complete a very short form and within a day we have several pairs of great shoes for those children. In Jacob's Shoes also cleans thousands of donated shoes for our Back to School Extravagtanza in August. They use their money raised during their fundraising efforts and buy new shoes (this year 1000 pairs ) for the Back to School Extravaganza. 5000 children will be outfitted with new supply filled backpacks, uniforms and shoes from In Jacob's Shoes for the new school year. This is an amazing organization and we love to support them in any way we can. No matter what, they never say "no". Our students also go there to volunteer to clean the shoes and they receive service hours but they receive something more valuable - they learn how to give back to the community in their own way.

Since 2009, when 'In Jacob's Shoes' was begun in memory of Jacob Zweig, the generosity of thousands of volunteers and contributors who have provided well over 25,000 pairs of shoes and over $155,000.00 in grants to needy children throughout Broward, Palm Beach and Miami Dade Counties in Southeast Florida.

It is heartwarming to see the faces of the children picking out their shoes prior to the start of the new school year. It is also a joy to know that the grant money is used to buy school supplies, athletic gear, help in after-care and summer camp experiences for these less fortunate children.

'In Jacob's Shoes' will continue to support these children with opportunities they might not otherwise have and, most importantly, to attend school prepared and with dignity.

In Jacob Shoes is a wonderful organization that provides a vital service to the community by providing all types of shoes and school supplies to children in need. Clients are treated with dignity and respect as well as volunteers. The organization is doing something so wonderful for the people who benefit but also for those who volunteer by giving them the opportunity to join together to do something so special for needy children in an environment of loving kindness.

In Jacobs Shoes is so special because it benefits the full spectrum of needy people everywhere. By not limiting who receives help they are able to touch the lives of everyone less fortunate. I've cleaned the shoes and worked on events to raise funds to send children to camp, nothing is more rewarding then smiling kids that are so appreciative and filled with joy! My name is Susan Israel (wife of Scott Israel, the Sheriff of Broward County). Kathleen Windridge of Windridge Yachts and I were co-chairs of the event "Bicycles for Champions Christmas Extravaganza." This was an amazing event that took place on December 23, 2013 in Broward County. We arranged for 180 underprivileged children to receive a new bicycle, helmet, bike lock, Jansport backpack -- and thanks to In Jacob's Shoes, a new pair of sneakers. The children were also invited on the magnificent Lady Windridge for a cruise down the intra-coastal which included lunch, a photo booth, and a DJ. When we first approached In Jacob's Shoes to assist with this event, they didn't hesitate to help these children. They actually went above and beyond our expectations! In Jacob's Shoes is a non-profit that generally collects slightly used shoes and refurbishes them so that they are very close to new. Our particular event was giving 180 children all new things for Christmas. The founder of In Jacob's Shoes, Harlene Zweig, didn't blink an eye to our request for 180 pairs of brand new shoes for these children. Ms. Zweig and her entire team received the list of gender and sizes for the children and then went to work immediately. They hand picked a beautiful array of sneakers for the entire group, and her team went even further to display the shoes in such a beautiful manner for the event. All were individually wrapped and tagged with the child's name. The organization of the distribution of the shoes was flawless. In Jacob's Shoes truly made the day spectacular for underprivileged children in great need of a new pair of shoes!

In Jacob Shoes has provided countless of South Florida's most needy children with shoes, school supplies, books etc.. since it's inception. Collecting, cleaning & distributing shoes is an arduous task. However, this charity has accomplished it's mission in the most efficient, organized fashion with dignity to the recipients. My family feels proud & fortunate to be affiliated with this amazing organization.
