Jack’s Helping Hand provided us not only with financial support when we almost lost our baby (now 7 years old), but, they have also been an amazing support for
our daughter and us as parents. They have been invested in her progress and development over the years and have helped us navigate the world of ongoing services. JHH are some of the most genuine people. Without JHH we wouldn’t have been able to be what our daughter needed when she was fighting for her life.
Jacks Helping Hand has been a foundation for our family in our journey through pediatric cancer. For over 4 years now, the amazing team at Jacks Helping Hand has been by our side supporting, celebrating and building up our family. We are forever indebted to the activities planned and memories made.
They do a lot of amazing work. Can’t say enough good things about the team that works at Jack’s Helping Hand. Countless stories of the lives they’ve changed.
We give JHH ⭐ ⭐⭐
We're grateful for Jack's Helping Hand and their many ways for being there for our family in the past 18 years!
The Ready's, staff and volunteers
make you feel like family with their kindness and generosity. Zachary had heart and gastrointestinal surgeries by 18 months and hernia procedure at 2 years. JHH was there to provide funds that helped with travel expenses in those times. That helped relieve a burden so we could focus on Zac. We continue to benefit with staying connected over the years. Zachary's now a senior in HS and currently enjoyes riding horses with the Little Riders. The equestrian therapeutics program brings him (and us) so much joy, which he displays through his smile. Wonderful, compassionate people and organization. Thank you JHH - Joe Cardoza & family.
Jack's helping hand has been an amazing blessing for our family!!! Our son AJ has had several specialist appointments and 2 surgeries far from home and Jack's Helping Hand helped pay for hotels, gas money, food and more! We are forever thankful to everyone who helps make this program possible. Your love and kindness will forever have an impact on our lives and we will never forget your generosity!! Thank you Jack's Helping Hand!!!!
Our son was diagnosed with leukemia. Jack’s Helping Hand has been there supporting us every step of the way. We couldn’t do this fight without their help. We are very appreciative of everything they do for us. We love them!!
Jack’s Helping Hand is a wonderful organization for San Luis Obispo community. We are longtime supporters not only because of their transparency, but you see the positive impact Jack’s Helping Hand has on medically fragile children. They have helped countless number of families in our community who not only need financial support but emotional support as well.
Our son, Barrett, adds a lot of extra joy and happiness to our lives. We love the extra sparkle that comes along with his extra chromosome. Bear was born with down syndrome and a heart defect, requiring open-heart surgery when he was six months old. We are forever grateful to Jack’s Helping Hand for providing financial assistance throughout this very difficult time in our lives. Bear is our heart warrior and now has perfect heart function! Thank you Jack’s Helping Hand for all of your support and for being such an amazing nonprofit! We love you!

Jack’s Helping Hand does so much good in our community. I have heard many times how their assistance makes a huge difference for families and children who have medical needs. I’ve also been so impressed with the dedication of the entire team there.
On January 19, 2019, it was a Saturday afternoon when Cassy was complaining of a headache as the day went on Cassy began to lose strength on her left side, followed by blurred vision and slurred speech. I was hoping her symptoms went away, but they were just getting worse. It was 10pm when our family decided Cassy needed to be seen by a medical professional because her symptoms were not normal and getting worse.
We arrived at Twin Cities Community Hospital after explaining the symptoms to the doctor. He immediately ordered blood work and a CT scan. The CT scan results showed she was having TIAs (small strokes) throughout the day. Immediately Cassy was transported via ambulance to Madera Children’s Hospital where she had more tests done. As soon as the doctor received the results, we were flown by helicopter to Stanford Hospital.
During her one month stay at Stanford Hospital her neurologist Dr. Gary Steinberg diagnosed Cassy with an incurable brain disease called MoyaMoya. She needed to have two brain surgeries in order to allow sufficient blood supply. Her first brain surgery was February 26, 2019, on the right side of the brain followed by the left side on April 3, 2019. This was a very hard time for my family and financial expenses were adding up, that’s when a friend referred me to Jack's Helping Hand. Jack's Helping Hand resources made a positive impact by assisting my family with lodging to be closer to Stanford for early morning surgeries and follow up appointments, as well as providing gas cards and food cards to ensure our family’s main focus was on Cassy’s health. Our family is very thankful and blessed to have been referred to Jack’s Helping Hand
during these difficult times for us, without this program I don’t know how we would have made it.
Jack’s Helping Hand has helped and supported Cassy in so many ways not only during her
unexpected health issues, but they were able to buy her a tricycle that she can ride by herself and feel part of her cousin group. Cassy is not able to ride a regular bike, so while her sister and cousins were riding bikes Cassy felt left out, but now she enjoys riding her pink tricycle with her sister and cousins out in the community. Maybe you guys have seen her cruising downtown Paso Park or during the parades in our community.
Jack’s Helping Hand is amazing, and the help and support Jack's Helping Hand gives to these families is heartwarming because the last thing a parent wants to think about while your child is sick is not having the financial resources to take your child to doctor visits.
This organization does wonderful things for the children and families of San Luis Obispo County. They go above and beyond expectations to help with financial assistance and the purchase of medical equipment. They have helped my family since the birth of my son and we are very grateful for the assistance they have provided.
My child has been involved in Jack's Helping Hand for many years - in both the Little Riders and Little Swimmers programs. It has been amazing to watch them grow into an experienced horse rider and I am always impressed how such a small person can manage a large animal, like a horse, with great ease. After every session, I notice how their demeanor changes and we see the improvement with their ability to self-manage in stressful situations. As my child has grown, they are now an assistant in the riding program - giving them even greater self-confidence. Jack's Helping Hand has transformed their life and expanded opportunities for them that would not be possible without this organization's great work.
Amazing organization that has helped our family so much with gas, food cards and much more. The volunteers has brought so much happiness to my family through love and support. We are so grateful for all they have done and continue to do for us. Thank you Jack's Helping Hands.
Connecting with Jack's Helping Hand has been such a gift to our family. We have recieved assistance since the day our son was born 3 years ago. Without JHH we wouldn't have been able to get our son the care he needs and deserves. The staff is incredible! They stay in touch, and truly care about our family. It's apparent this organization is purely about helping children and their families.
We have been long time supporters of Jack's Helping Hand for all of the right reasons. We recognize that as beautiful as our community is, we do not have the adequate health care for children with special medical needs that require a specialty children's hospital. We are grateful to provide support to an organization that helps those children get tofthe care they need when they need it the most.
Jacks Helping hand has been very supportive to my family for many years. They have supported us through my son (David Vargas)needs in financial helping us get to his medical assessment .Also providing school material and other needed supplies. We are very grateful with the support that provided us while my wife was in military deployment this year.
We were so grateful to get connected with Jacks Helping Hand after the birth of our first baby in the midst of the pandemic. We got thrown into a medical world full of unknowns as first time parents. We watched our 3 week old baby fight for her life, followed with numerous hospital visits, countless appointments, and 3 surgeries in 20 months. She just celebrated her 2nd birthday and we owe so many thanks to Jack’s Helping Hand for taking some of the stress off by offering expense assistance for lodging, gas cost, & meals. They were always so accommodating even if our appointments were short notice or switched days last minute. And to top it off everyone we've met has been so sweet and genuine, they’ve even sent our sweet girl birthday cards each year which she loves. We can’t express our gratitude for them enough!
