Mission: The mission of the jacklin rod & gun club, inc. Is to support and cultivate hunting, fishing, recreation and related social activities for club members.
Programs: Hunting for upland game bird is an activity for many of the members. 400 pheasants and 100 chukars are stocked during the season. The club abides by the regulations set down by the state of connecticut and applicable federal requirements where waterfowl are concerned.
fishing is the major interest for a majority of the members. Trout stocking takes place in the spring. The lake also supports other species including bass, perch, pickerel, etc. A kids' fishing event is held each spring to boost interest in the sport for coming generations.
social events such as a game supper, sheep-bake and sports nights provide opportunities for the members to gather and enjoy a fine meal prepared by their fellow members. The menu will often include various game items provided by the members. The club's owns building where the events take place. The bar is open for these events and on most friday nights.
