Causes: Arts & Culture, Commemorative Events
Mission: Raise college scholarship funds for high school athletes by sponsoring in downtown dallas, or other local area location, a traditional, family-friendly new year's eve day parade, or a parade near the time of the annual college football game presented by the cotton bowl athletic association. The parade will allow high school bands and dance/cheer teams from texas and other states the opportunity to march in the parade as part of the cotton bowl music festival.
Programs: Prior years' primary exempt purpose achievements included new years eve day parades in dallas, tx with many attending the parades while thousands watched on television and by live internet streaming. More than 1,500 students from high schools across the united states participated in the parades. Due to the change in venue for the annual cotton bowl college football game, the annual parade was temporarily suspended the last four years. No grant was paid in the current year.
