Terrible experience here. We found the perfect dog to adopt. Then set up a home visit after about a month of waiting for them to check our application and call our references. We then talked to Chris about the "home visit". We scheduled for a meeting over the weekend, he told us he was "too busy" and would need to reschedule. Getting a dog from them is like jumping through hoops and ladders. I understand they don't want their dogs going to the wrong homes, but wasting people's time isn't the way to go about your business. We found a beautiful pit bull puppy we're going to buy tomorrow from a local breeder.

They knew we had cats and gave us a dog with a high a high prey drive. We tried returning him and they said we had to hold onto him "foster without financial support" until they found another home. After 3 months of fostering efforts from our side, we threw a fit and told them we were tired of waiting and wanted to move on. They took him back eventually without refunding our adoption fee. Now they wont adopt to us anymore.

We found this place on Petfinder and in Chicago. We also discovered during this ordeal that they adopted this dog to us approximately 3 days after re-fostering him due to nipping the fosters children. They had a rigorous application process; called all 3 references, our HOA, our previous vets, and did a home visit. They were well aware that we had a child and 2 cats.

Bottom line: They did not complete a temperament test on the dog and after six long months we are out boo-kew bucks all in their rescue efforts and our family is still searching for a pet.
