I have a family member who had cancer in Israel. The Israel Cancer Association, which is supported by ICA USA, helped her tremendously. Because of that experience, I have become a strong advocate of Israel Cancer Association USA.

I have used the website to obtain speciific information about the treatment of certain cancers. I have served as Chair of the Mission Education Committee for the ACS Relay for Life program. The ICA, in my opinion, is more dedicated to research and trestment than ACS, which I believe squanders a lot of its donated dollars on infrastructure.

The cost of cancer research in Israel is a fraction of the cost for the same research conducted in the United States. Thus scientists in Israel can go beyond standard practices and employe the most innovative research techniques while working according to strict professional criterea. The result: ICA's world renowned and prize-winning researchers can access the most progressive advancements to find cancer cures.

Israel Cancer Association continues to offer a fabulous return for every dollar that is raised and forwarded to our scientists in Israel. The scientists there continue to focus on patient care and curing without the burden of looking over their shoulders to worry about legal wrangling. The curing/resolution of cancer issues is paramount for these superbly-educated scientists.

This rather obscure organization if the US arm of the principal cancer charity operating in Israel--analogous to the American Cancer Society in the US. The main purpose of the US arm is to fund cancer research conducted in Israel. Israeli cancer scientists have one of the most impressive records of innovation in the World. Moreover, such research is arried out at a fraction of the cost of similar work ccnducted in the US or Europe. ICA USA is a very frugal organization with low administrative and fund-raising costs, hence its relatively low profile yet it has funded the work of Nobel-prize-winning scientists.
