Working/volunteering with IMANA is easy and rewarding. Starting from registering the mission trip to flying home after trip, IMANA takes care of the volunteers. Zahid is the person to go for any concerns/questions.

I started to volunteer with Imana more than 10 years ago. Nursing student (I was her preceptor), Kayleen, wanted to help people in Haiti. We joined Imana's Medical Mission Trip ServeHaiti together. The ServeHaiti trip provided much needed basic health care along with ophthalmologists (basic eye surgeries and free eyeglasses) to hundreds of patients every day from infants to elderlies in the rural area of Miragoâne in Haiti. Imana provided vitamins/irons to women and children with malnutrition. Haiti people needs international support from basic human needs, food and shelter to basic and complex health care. I am so happy IMANA resumes ServeHaiti trip in 2023. Clinic in Miragoâne situates on a beautiful hilltop with great foods and hospitality from locals.

In August 2021, I joined IMANA's ServeParkistan trip. IMANA provided much needed health care mostly to children and women in Mother & Child Health Center in Rahat Kot in northern Swat. I remember there were so many children and women came to the clinic with up to 500 patients in one day. These children and women really trusted us. Swat is beautiful. Foods are delicious. Swat people are friendly and hard working. Again, often, I triaged children with PICA. Poverty is the leading cause to their malnutrition. Even though Pakistan has universal health care, access to health care for women and children in Swat is limited. IMANA does a great job in filling this gap.

My husband did not understand me for serving IMANA's medical mission trips. He had concerns of my safety and doubted we could help people in a matter of one week. After getting permission from IMANA, my husband, an artist, joined me at ServeSyria in Jordan (he as a tourist) this September. He immediately fell in love with Jordan (scenery, history, foods, animals and people). He completely changed his mind and started to support me after he came to the clinic with us in Ramtha during last 2 days. He witnessed volunteer physicians, pharmacists, nurses and local health care providers very busy in providing care to hundreds of Syria refugees on a daily basis. Jordan is beautiful, rich in history and safe with delicious Mediterranean foods. Jordan takes good care of basic needs of large volume of refugees (my observation), but access to health care for refugees in inner city is very limited. IMANA does an excellent job in filling this gap. To be honest, I saw less children with malnutrition in Jordan. More depression, hypertension, diabetes, dermatological issues, obesity, .... I noticed in this population of refugees from Syria. Providing antidepressant medications on mission trips is new to me. I assume they have traumas from the war.

in addition to serve as volunteer with IMANA, I also started to make donations to IMANA because I trust IMANA and I believe IMANA put 100% of my donation towards supplies, medicine, water & sanitation projects, health centers, and professional development for a more compassionate world.

Working with IMANA, I worked at several remote camps in Pakistan to treat individuals stricken with waterborne and vector-borne diseases such as cholera, malaria, malnourishment and lack of prenatal care.

IMANA is a professional nonprofit organization managed by a group of doctors carrying out medical missions in areas of high need around the world where access to basic health services is limited. I have always enjoyed being part of devoted and excellent team of medical professional from North America.
These missions play an important role in helping people access basic health needs, provide free medicines and other services such a blood test and X-rays/ Ultrasound as well as teaching local medical students, doctors and translators.
It also helps team members to build lifelong friendships and professional relationships. I would definitely recommend IMAN to any medical professional looking to do charity medical work around the world.

Where do I begin. Only one of few non profit organizations that focus on helping communities in healthcare / medical space… especially in developing countries. They foster and improve local partnerships. They work to get your high medical debt forgiven (sometimes for pennies on the dollar)! They even donated tens of thousands of certified n95 / kn95 masks to hospitals in US and abroad during pandemic (through vetted supplier). Pretty active in all things healthcare!

I started as a medical relief volunteer with IMANA in 2010 and have stayed with the organization since then. I have seen the difference IMANA's programs make in the lives of its beneficiaries and volunteers. It's a privilege to serve with this team.

IMANA does amazing work not only nationally, but worldwide. Healthcare access so crucial and they work in many impoverished and/or rural areas to provide access to those who typically would not have the resource. On top of this they have other programs as well that help on the national level as well. A great non-profit doing great work.

I have been very impressed by the work IMANA has been doing. Their focus on health and medical well-being is an oft-neglected aspect of philanthropy. Because their focus is so specialized, their quality of care is spectacular. I am proud to support this great organization.
