Mission: Its purposes are to: (i) educate the communities in and around the san francisco bay area as to the beliefs of the religion of islam; (ii) establish institutions for the practice of islamic religious and social activities; (iii) provide the general community with humanitarian assistance.
Programs: Relief efforts:as part of icna relief project, the dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers organize regular feed the hungry programs and provide family assistance to the needy members of our community. So far over 90,000 meals have been served to underprivileged and homeless people in the sf bay area. Outreach events: the why islam project of icna continues to reach out to our fellow citizens and fulfill our collective outreach duty in an effective and creative manner. The project aims at removing the misconceptions and promotes proper and fair understanding of islam by media advertising through bus and billboards reaching more than 500,000 people daily and maintaining outreach tables at various community locations, malls and farmers markets in the sf bar area reaching thousands of passersby. Social and educations programs:icna-sf bay area recognizes the importance of providing training, social and educational programs to the community. Programs held annually or biennially is young muslims islamic quiz competition reaching around 350 students every year, muslim family day with 800 to 1600 participants, training/tarbiyah seminars, young muslims youth programs, and dawah and mentor training collectively reaching over 250 participants.
