Target demographics: low-income families
Direct beneficiaries per year: over 1,800 families in the Isla Vista Community
Geographic areas served: Santa Barbara County
Programs: a Children's Center (NAEYC Certified Preschool Program), an Elementary-aged After School Program and Summer Program, a Family Resource Center, and THRIVE Isla Vista.
When I was in high school, I coordinated a back-pack drive for the Elementary Program with IVYP. In my professional career, I coordinated a pen-pal program with the elderly clients I worked with and the elementary-aged students at IVYP. The IVYP staff are dedicated, trustworthy, and follow-through. They make a positive impact on the Isla Vista Community every single day.
