I am a recovering alcoholic and PTSD sufferer. It is such a pleasure to receive relief without having to take a pill or shot. It is my prayer this program be expanded for veterans to get this care more often.

I met Ms. Densmore at a conference. Her passion and commitment to her cause were so infectious I agree to provide pro bono assistance to her organization. Her emphasis on individualized care, adherence to the highest of professional standards, and commitment to integration of state-of-the art therapies makes Iraq Rose stand out head and shoulders among the the dozens of non-profits I have worked with in my career.

My son has PTSD and TBI from Iraq. He had an accicental overdose last April 2009 from all the medications he is on from the VA. His wife has left him, and I have been searching for help. We live a long way from Iraq Rose, Inc. Somehow I connected with IRAQ Rose on the internet, and Martha Densmore has not only been supportive of me as a mother looking to help her son, but has ideas and suggested places to take my son for help in our area. She emails me on a regular basis providing emotional support for me, and has never asked for any financial support for all her help.

Iraq Rose is doing a wonderful service for Veterans. She's offering natural therapies that really work, something not easy to find in world. For example, she offers Alpha-Stim treatments, which I have found to be amazingly helpful at reducing stress and PTSD. It also reduces craving for addictive drugs. It also relieves pain. The treatment is not well known, yet, but is being used in the military and the VA. Martha is a wonderfully compassionate healer, and the vets are lucky she does what does. Her work greatly deserves support

When an MD responds with the above affirmation ON THE SAME DAY he received the request, wow, and beyond that, this doctor is a specialist in complementary medicine. Thank you so much Dr. William for your time and blessing! I hope our paths will cross again soon! --Martha

I have watched as Iraq Rose grew from an idea in the founder's mind into the successful Los Angeles Veteran's Acupuncture clinic providing weekly integrative medical services to veterans experiencing the effects of PTSD. The services are having a positive impact in the lives of these veterans, providing them a better quality of life and a depth of healing from the trauma they experienced. Also, the LA Veterans Acupuncture clinic is receiving increasing acceptance from within the local medical and psychological veteran support communities.

Iraq Rose is doing a fantastic job providing excellent services on a very limited budget. As a Board Member I am excited to be a part of such a worthy cause. The veterans are receiving comprehensive, individualized care rather than treatments based on a set formula. The feedback from the veterans has been very positive.

Iraq Rose is a pioneering organization doing great work with America's military veterans and making a groundbreaking impact on America's healthcare system. Their dedication to identifying and treating the myriad of health problems veterans suffer from is tremendous. And their commitment to proving that acupuncture is an effective, low-cost, non side-effect medicine to the medical community is definitely praiseworthy.

First, as a current student in a Master's Degree Program for Acupuncture & Holistic Medicine, my involvement since 2009 has been to study and observe treatment strategies used in the Iraq Rose clinic. I have witnessed first hand the positive results being reported directly to the Iraq Rose clinicians by the Veteran patients. Examples of the reported results include better sleep, less chronic discomfort and pain, and a more optimistic outlook for their personal and professional lives. Veterans continue to return for follow up sessions, and my personal opinion through observation is that they all appear “glad to be there” when they arrive, and “calm and grateful” when they leave. While the benefits of this type of care are delivered one treatment, one Veteran at a time, there is no doubt in my mind that these benefits then extend into families, workplace, and entire communities. Second, Iraq Rose's mission both educates the public on the merits of a whole-life, whole-body approach to Veteran healthcare, and delivers these services individually. With 20 years of prior business experience providing my perspective, I feel this approach demonstrates a well-balanced, justifiable business model that can show immediate results with minimal to non-invasive care. And in these challenging economic times, it means greater efficiency and more value for every dollar Iraq Rose receives and spends on delivering its services. Last but not least, when Iraq Rose clinicians teach some simple techniques such as breathing with movement, or meditation and nutrition, Iraq Rose is providing their Veterans with the most important services of all: a path to understanding and empowering their own unique healing needs, and tools they can use anytime, anywhere, and forever.

Thank you Dr. Lippman! It’s Densmore, but we do know each other! Dr. Lippman diagnosed my sub-clinical gluten sensitivity 20 years ago. This “cured” my allergies because I changed my diet using her advice and I have been a huge fan ever since. She honors Iraq Rose by contributing to our advisory board as one of the finest MDs in Los Angeles. She is board certified in psychiatry and is a longtime specialist in environmental medicine and nutrition. Dr. Lippman is featured in Suzanne Summer’s book “Ageless”. I founded and serve as the executive director or Iraq Rose. I provide acupuncture treatments to vets every Monday in donated space at Emperors College in Santa Monica. We covert a classroom into a clinic with comfortable tables. I individualize the treatments even though it is a group setting. I started working with vets (and some military service members) right away to learn "hands-on" from them, their stories, their needs, to treat PTSD, and trauma. I developed the platform of our venue using limited resources that were available. Now after a year and a half of running the LAVA clinic, starting radio outreach, developing our website and brand of service, developing a program to teach aromatherapy to army wives and military families, and attracting talented healers who want to serve and contribute, and getting regular referrals from the vet center: we are ready to raise funds so that we can bring in great healers, develop, expand, and secure our program of holistic healing and education to heal and prevent war trauma, to promote stress recovery and health for vets and the military. Working to help veterans heal has been the highlight of my 20 years experience as a healer, RN, and acupuncturist.

A comment to my commentary: I have been 100% a volunteer of Iraq Rose thus far. We are positioned with much hands-on clinical experience on top of other attributes. Now we are taking this venue to the next level with a solid core team of healers, teachers, and a small but sound board of directors. Even though it has been very challenging to work without pay and with little business help, I don't think I would have done anything different. Sure if we had more money from the start that would have made some things easier. Yet by working hard "in the trenches" with our clients, and also having had the opportunity to observe the ethics and business styles of some entities before we are funded, I have learned much that will be put to good use. --Martha

I am a combat vet being treated for PTSD, TBI (traumatic brain injury), and muscle damage from an RPG explosion. Iraq Rose Inc. is applying a holistic approach in my treatment. The acupuncture has significantly reduced the frequency and duration of my headaches. I have regained 90% rotation capability in both shoulders through a combination of the acupuncture and tai chi. I am also experiencing a reduction in nightmares and am often sleeping for 5 to 6 hours per night which is about an hour longer than normal. Blood circulation in my feet has improved significantly as demonstrated by my feet being usually warm instead of usually cold. All this is improving my attitude.
