Mission: Inveneo is a 501(c)(3) non profit social enterprise whose mission is to connect and empower rural and underserved communities in the developing world with information and communications technologies (ICTs). We work with and serve organizations that deliver vital education, healthcare, economic development and relief services to some of the poorest communities in the world, enabling these organizations – NGOs, governments and others – to more effectively serve people in need through technology. We partner with local ICT entrepreneurs though our Inveneo Certified ICT Partner (ICIP) program, now active in 24 countries, to deliver and support these solutions locally. Since 2006, Inveneo and our Inveneo Certified ICT Partners (ICIPs) have delivered innovative solutions reaching more than 1,500,000 people in over 500 communities in 25 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Haiti.
Results: Since 2005 we have reached over 1.6 million end users in 696 communities with access to our technology. This means that people have used our computers or partners' services in schools, clinics, hospitals, community centers and microfinance offices in over 2 dozen countries around the world.
Programs: In line with inveneo's mission to provide technology tools to organizations in developing countries, inveneo worked in two african nations in 2017. In ethiopia we worked in collaboration with our local small business partner to provide installation and support for projects. One project supported tablets and training for use by the bi-annual early grade reading assessment activity of the ministry of education. In liberia inveneo began a 3-year project to provide high speed broadband internet access to rural health facilities and educational institutions in 5 counties targeted by usaid. Domestically, inveneo hosts monthly techsalons that invite experts in various technologies to discuss their work and state-of-the-art technologies with interested counterparts in industry, non-profits and government agencies. In total, inveneo's work in 2017 potentially affected the education of up to 14. 5 million primary pupils in ethiopia. Its work in liberia will affect the lives and health care of up to 2 million residents.
