ICSPP is a research and educational network devoted to educating professionals and the public concerning the impact of mental health theories on public policy and the effects of therapeutic practices upon individual well-being, personal freedom, and family and community values. ICSPP is comprised of a network of medical practitioners, psychologists and mental health professionals, professors, teachers, attorneys, "psychiatric survivors" and lay persons. ICSPP is an educational support network, informing professionals, the public, and the media of the problems, biases and lack of validity in psychological and psychiatric reseaerch. ICSPP critically analyzes peer reviewed research, highlighting limitations to such research, and exposes how our profession is unable to ethically and effectively treat social-emotional and interpersonal challenges as though they were caused real biological medical diseases.
