Mission: To support and assist candidates throughout the world with their psychoanalytical training. To fund research in the promotion of psychoanalysis.
Programs: Hayman prize for published work pertaining to traumatized children and adults ($4,000); elise m. Hayman award for the study of the holocaust and genocide ($4,000); psychoanalytic research exceptional contribution awards ($500); tyson prize - awarded for the best unpublished clinical paper written by an ipa candidate in the two previous years ($510 for winner and $250 for runner up).
research training program: grants to researchers either directly researching psychoanalysis or other mental health issues with psychoanalytic traits. No grants were issued in 2017, because administrative difficulties meant that we were not able to complete the work by the end of 2017. Instead those grants were issued in 2018 (approximately $100,000).
