Mission: The international psoriasis council (ipc) is a dermatology-led, voluntary, global nonprofit organization dedicated to innovation across the full spectrum of psoriasis. Ipc's mission is to advance the care of people with psoriasis worldwide, (see schedule o)through education, research and advocacy.
Programs: Educational - in an effort to enhance the care of patients worldwide,ipc delivered a variety of education programs for health careprofessionals around the world. Educational sympsosia reached anestimated 1,000 participants. Programs were held in, washington, dc, singapore, sao paulo, brazil, birmingham, uk, newport beach, ca, vienna, austria and buenos aires, argentina. Two issues and nearly 10,000 copies of the psoriasis review newsletter were distributed in english, spanish and portuguese.
patient care - three of ipcs working groups were active throughout theyear. The topical therapies working group continued three projectsincluding the development of a manuscript on the gaps in topicaltreatment; a survey was implement with councilors regarding the globalusage of topical therapies; and as systematic review and collection ofguidelines from throughout the world began. The biosiosimilars working gorup published two manuscripts on the topics of determining similiarity and clinical analyl=litics and the lating america working group published a manuscript on clinical perspetive of biosimilars in lating america.
research - the ipc board of directors and ipc councilors selected thetop 10 papers in psoriasis research published in the ipc psoriasisreview along with accompanying commentary; ipc exome project manuscriptwas submitted for publishing, along with a report on the role of stress in psoriasis. Ipc continued its relationship with the ifpa (international federation of psoriasis associations) and the ilds (international league of dermatological societies) to develop a global psoriasis atlas, which aims to fill the gaps in the understanding of the global burden of the disease. In addition, a sympoisum was held at the esdr meeting in germany on p4/personalized medicine and the ipc think tank focused on the connection between psoriasis and mental health.
outreach - ipc participates in american academy of dermatology (aad), european academy of dermatology and venereology (eadv) and reunion anual de dermatologos latinoamericanos (radla) meetings. Each organization is charged with educating dermatologis and sharing best practices.
