Mission: International marine minerals society is a professional society whose members share a common interest in marine minerals as a resource for study and sound application to meet world demands for strategic minerals. International marine minerals society promotes and improves understanding, aids in interchange of information, and encourages prudent development and research for marine minerals.
Programs: Annual international conference, underwater mining conference (formerly underwater mining institute or umi) was in berlin, germany, september 24-29, 2017. Annual general membership meeting and annual executive board meeting, both held at the hilton berlin.
annual membership includes an e-newsletter that provides members with current updates and trends in the mineral mining society. During 2017 had a total of 178 members.
