Programs: Online resource hub of informational materials for human rights advocates and victims of abuses. We published: a daily news brief, factsheets on 54 countries' specific human rights obligations, more than 140 news articles, exhaustion of domestic remedies guides, explanations of new united nations special procedures, and other materials used by more than 360,000 people in more than 190 countries.
advocacy support and reinforcement. Ijrc assisted indigenous rights advocates challenging forced sterilization in canada, led u. S. -based organizations in seeking human rights oversight of the u. S. Government's muslim ban, studied civil society access to supranational human rights bodies, submitted an amicus curiae brief on torture to the supreme court of costa rica, and responded to other requests for assistance from victims and advocates.
trainings and awareness raising. Ijrc led a training on international human rights law research for 20 african advocates; organized two panel discussions, on police brutality and on current priorities and challenges of u. S. Human rights advocates, that reached more than 200 participants. We hosted our sixth human rights night event to celebrate the anniversary of the universal declaration of human rights' adoption.
