Their high-quality, independent research in support of sustainable agricultural practices in developing countries is also in line with their anti-poverty mindset, all of which is near and dear to my heart. I grew up on a farm, and I worked for USDA for 12 years, then moved to the nonprofit when I discovered IFPRI. I worked there as a part timer in the early 80's and about 10 years later I worked there again full time in the Communications Department until I retired. If you appreciate long-term, challenging goals, high-caliber colleagues, and you don't mind long hours and are willing to travel, this is a great place to work.
