I have had the honor and privilege of having previously worked for ICRW, a premier organization that advocates on behalf of women and girls worldwide through the work of its exceptional leadership and staff. Because of ICRW’s stellar work towards a gender equitable world, the lives of many women, girls, and their families and communities across the globe have and will continue to improve. ICRW is as impressive an organization as they come!

I've had the honor to experience the work of ICRW at my local level and was nothing but inspired and blown away. We co-hosted a unique Black History Month fundraiser that shed light on equity issues in education right here in Washington, DC. Neighborhoods like Anacostia have been overlooked for decades but ICRW is working to change that with their Connected Schools Program. So many global organizations based in DC never bring their work and expertise to the city where they are located. It shows the vision and dedication that fuels the work of ICRW. I loved working with the staff to create a special event and was inspired by their dedication to the people of Washington, DC.

As an avid supporter of ICRW, it's easy to see the passion and dedication that drives the organization's impact on women and girls around the world. ICRW works tirelessly to produce and share evidence on the obstacles women and girls face, and to identify solutions that will advance gender equity in practices and policies. The staff are specialists in understanding the intersectionality between gender inequity and the myriad of challenges the world faces. I'm so proud to support ICRW's mission as ICRW and their partners continue to work towards a gender equitable world.

As a staff member, I’ve been able to witness the distinct ways ICRW has and continues to make women and girls visible within international development -- from putting issues like child marriage on the map to piloting exploration of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. Our experts are producing the evidence needed to underpin solutions, pivoting to respond to new global challenges and priorities, and helping to drive the agenda for the wider development community. It's an honor to be part of the ICRW team.

As a member of staff, I’ve seen the unique impact the organization has had on women and girls around the world, leading the way in producing evidence on how women and girls are held back and finding solutions that will advance gender equity. Every member of staff is an expert in understanding the intersectionality between gender inequity and so many other challenges the world faces today, and I am proud to support ICRW’s mission.

I joined ICRW in 2002. Other than a short stint working as a consultant, I’ve been at ICRW ever since! What drew me to ICRW in the first place is the same thing that motivates me to get to work every day. ICRW is unique among applied research institutes around the world. While it has maintained a laser focus on women, girls and gender inequity, its impact comes from a deep understanding of the ways in which gender intersects with other identities and social markers to shape vulnerability. ICRW experts understand – and our research shows - that these same intersections can be where power, resilience and opportunities for lasting social change reside. ICRW came into existence to make women and girls visible in international development, and we continue to surface the data to demonstrate why they should not only be visible in, but the leaders of, the wellbeing and prosperity of their families, communities and nations.

As a military veteran, women’s health expert, and life-long advocate for women’s rights, I know first hand the struggle for gender equality that women and girls still face all over the world. I have been long-time supporter of ICRW. They are an incredible organization that works tirelessly to advance gender equality for women and girls worldwide. ICRW provides clear evidence as to where gender inequalities exist and how they effect the women and girls of the world. They lead the way at finding solutions to address these issues and promote the inherent equal value of women and girls around the world. ICRW has long been a respected pillar for those of us working on gender equality in international development. The organization deftly links research and evidence to programs, generating results and insights that inform the field. Specifically, they effectively use research and evidence to improve the effectiveness of programs in reducing gender inequalities and shifting gender norms. I worked with ICRW on their ground-breaking Women and AIDS Research Program in the 1990s, and now am proud to work closely with the ICRW DC and Asia teams as partners on our program in India. The staff bring valuable technical insight, rigor and specificity to work on gender inequality, as well as an energy and enthusiasm that makes them a joy to work with.

For people working in the field of development and gender equity, ICRW has always been the common denominator. It's impossible to count how many people have told me how much they've used and benefited from ICRW's research products to advance their work. For over 40 years, ICRW has contributed critical knowledge and insights that have been used to make programs and public policies more humane, equitable, inclusive and beneficial to all. In addition to its research activities, many people are unaware that ICRW's experts are also on the cutting edge of creating and testing on-the-ground programs to advance gender equity and disrupt harmful gender norms, especially for youth, their parents and community leaders. No other organization fills the role ICRW does globally. I'm pleased to support its work and help ensure it grows in size and influence.

ICRW is one of the leading organizations focused on finding solutions to achieve gender equity. The staff are incredibly passionate about their work, and the organization is highly respected as a thought leader on women's and girls' issues. ICRW has led the way on many critical areas of work like child marriage, online violence against women and girls, feminist foreign policy, etc.

Without ICRW's solid, applied research the development sector would not have the evidence to base their interventions upon.

ICRW is the "go to" organization in DC for relevant, rigorous research and analysis on global girls and women's issues. They bring a consistent and critical gender lens and global South perspective to the development field, and are also highly collaborative and connected within the human rights space. Working in the international development field, I've found ICRW to be a well-respected organization that puts out great work. I've found their research to be particularly helpful for desk research thinking about ways to ensure all my programs effectively address concerns related to gender, even if it is not the direct focus of the program. Moreover, as our entire field looks to the SDGs from the UN, I have truly appreciated ICRW's efforts to ensure the needs of women and girls are met within these goals.

I had the unique opportunity to volunteer for this organization during the DC Pride parade and was able to witness the passion and motivation for change that is undoubtedly shared among the hard working members of this inspiring institution.

Their work is about helping to build stronger communities and economies, and they strongly believe (and has proven) that the empowerment of women is the most important step in improving the lives of individuals and families around the world. ICRW sets the framework for advocating for women’s rights. Their research connects people with the information needed in order to make an informed change.

ICRW occupies a unique space in the gender & development sector as it not only implements evidence-based programs, but also through its research builds the collective capacity of organizations working to advance gender equality and human rights, fight poverty, and promote sustainable economic and social development. The caliber of ICRW's research is matched by that of its staff and project partners whose dedication to the organization's mission to empower women and advocate change through policy and programs has created an inimitable legacy -- a legacy I had the distinct pleasure to witness when I had the opportunity to engage with ICRW project participants and staff in India earlier this year.

My summer volunteer work with ICRW was an incredible experience that exposed me to ICRW's incredible mission, community, and ability to inspire. During my time with ICRW, I worked on a variety of different projects ranging from research assistance on the Reproductive Empowerment team to website redesign. I was also thoroughly impressed with ICRW's pioneering approach to Corporate Social Responsibility and had the opportunity to discuss future possible events and programs that would further ICRW's impact and the concept of traditional charity work. ICRW did an excellent job to integrate me into their tight community of highly experienced and amazingly welcomingly employees. In my short time with ICRW I learnt invaluable information about the international development field, what working for an NGO is like, and most importantly was inspired by the incredible work ICRW produces.

ICRW exemplifies the merging of top quality research with the development of evidence based programs in communities with high level of needs. Their focus on using well conducted research to advocate for these communities makes them a powerful voice in this realm. Recent plans to ramp us effective programming and bring it to scale in other regions will broaden their impact. Overall a very impressive organisation with excellent leadership and support staff.

ICRW is a much needed voice for evidence-based advocacy on women and girls. I've been impressed with their work over the past decades and have enjoyed seeing them grow from a small organization to an influential player in gender and development.

I've had an amazing opportunity to see some of the work ICRW has been doing while in India this past year. Women at several project sites were so thrilled with the work that was happening! The real test for me came when I was able to see a for profit business adopt and embrace some of the work ICRW had been doing to help their employees (and it also helped their bottom line)! That's what research can do...positive benefits for all sides.

ICRW is a unique organization. It combines a capacity for research and advocacy in an exceptionally effective manner. The global work is done in conjunction with locally recognized NGOs. ICRW's leadership - both at the staff and board levels - is visionary and disciplined at the same time. ICRW takes advantage of other experts through its Global Ambassadors program., which means that its work is well thought out, researched and addresses the challenges at hand.

I had an opportunity to witness the work that ICRW does in a number of communities they serve in India. Prior to the experience, I understood the value of social research programs and the ways that they can affect social change. However, I quickly learned that having a theoretical understanding, and meeting with people first hand provide very different experiences. I left with an overwhelming appreciation of the impact that ICRW programs have on the life of women and their communities; and I continue to be impressed by the passion and diligence that ICRW brings to bear on the numerous issues they address in their work.

After years of work on foreign assistance, I was drawn to ICRW's impact In designing and strengthening programs with its partners to benefit the livelihoods of women and girls throughout the world. They also opened my eyes to the understanding of needing to program in men and boys to achieve long-term sustainable change in societies. Thank you ICRW for the amazing work that you do, and in continuing to challenge us all to think of better and smarter ways to make life better for Half the Sky!

Both state and civil society in Asia (and India in particular) have benefited enormously from ICRW’s high quality evaluations, policy briefs and sharing of global experiences. ICRW’s work is contributing significantly to public action that seeks to eliminate discrimination against girls and women, end child marriages, empower women and promote greater freedoms for young girls and adolescents. As a Board member closely associated with ICRW’s Asia Regional Office in New Delhi, I am proud to support such an exceptional organization.

ICRW has a low public profile, but it does fabulous work on women's issues. It is research and fact based and collaborates with many other groups, public and private, domestic and international to address the issues of our day, such as child marriage, women's economic well being, health, and violence. I couldn't be more pleased to be supporting such a fine organization.
