Mission: Isla provides humanitarian aid in latin america
Programs: Medical program - isla seeks to improve the health of the jalapa, nicaragua community by sharing medical experise and resources with their medical colleagues and patients in japala. The program includes women's healthcare, mental health, pediatrics, surgery, wound care, optometry, dental services and identification and referral of pediatric heart defects.
education program - isla is helping to build a population of well-educated young people which can attrat business and light industry to the jalapa valley area. Collaborating with local schools, teachers and parents, isla works to expand its understanding of the educational needs of the jalapa school district. It also works to increase the percentage of jalapa area youth receiving primary, secondary and post-secondary education.
construction program - isla seeks to support the efforts of the medical and education programs, while providing volunteers a rewarding experience and giving local jalapans opportunities to use existing building skills and learn new ones.
