My two boys have been volunteering integrative touch for years and not only has it helped change the lives of the children they connect with weekly, it has changed my two boys in profound ways. My sons look forward to their Tele-Friend sessions and come away each week fulfilled, happier, and better humans. Every. Single. Time. The work integrative touch does is truly exceptional, helping connect people with serious illnesses or complex medical issues with caring, loving, wonderful, thoughtful people to bring about REAL healing, TRUE support, and ACTUAL connections that, quite simply, change lives! Their mission is beautiful. Their staff is tremendous. Their volunteers are incredible. And the people Integrative Touch helps are some of the most amazing souls you’ll ever come across. THANK YOU INTEGRATIVE TOUCH!
Integrative Touch has been an amazing space where I have witnessed many people experiencing transformative support and healing. The sense of community is very strong, and they do an excellent job of meeting people where they are to best support them along their journey. Not only have I experienced this transformation firsthand, but I have also encountered many others at the center who have shared similar experiences.
I started going to the Integrative Touch Healing Center for Saturday yoga classes and then moved onto different healing therapies. I work in a very high stress environment and constantly travelling far away from home. At the healing center, you really feel like you can take your time and breathe with a sense of being grounded on earth. After my first acupuncture visit, I immediately knew I wanted to return for follow up visits because of how thorough the practitioner was with my needs and health goals- They saw me for who I was as a complete person.
I participated in the telewellness program and was surprised and delighted by the number of new tools that my healing team provided for dealing with stress and anxiety. As a member of the healing community as well, it was great that the healing team was able to meet me at my level and support me as I processed my pain and trauma. Integrative Touch is doing groundbreaking work in how they help caregivers, children, and other practitioners manage their stress and anxiety.
Integrative Touch is an organization that truly looks out for each individual who walks through its doors. Whether you're a client seeking support or a volunteer there to contribute, Integrative Touch provides a comforting and nurturing space that helps everyone feel safe and cared for.
The team here is dedicated not only to the well-being of the people they serve but also to creating a supportive and welcoming environment for those who work with them. It’s a place where I've found compassion, understanding, and holistic wellness to be at the forefront, making it a lovely place to volunteer.
The community at Integrative Touch surprised me in the most positive way. As a volunteer, I came with intentions to give and support, but I received so much from participants, other volunteers, and providers. Healing takes place within every individual, through first-hand encounters or from watching other heartfelt moments. It is refreshing to see that there are people with genuine kindness and have an unconditional kind of love for others. This joy is heightened by the values of Integrative Touch that aim to close gaps of accessibility and connection, no one is turned away and we meet each other where we're at.
I was lucky enough to find Integrative Touch earlier this year, and I have never been more excited to be a part of an organization. This non-profit goes beyond the formal definition of healing, and moves deeper into the necessity of connection. The year-round camps are a magical experience for not just the kiddos that are able to join us, but all volunteers and interns involved. There will never be a moment where I am not in awe of what this organization has been able to do for this community, and the amazing reach that they have been able to make. With every opportunity I have, I will be back here to show as much support as they will let me!
I have worked in the medical model for my entire career so far, and what is striking to me about Integrative Touch is the absolute care these professionals put into their day-to-day operations. Healing takes on a concrete role at this organization, where treatments are individualized, services are holistic, and communication is solid. Integrative Touch takes the trauma out of medicine; you are safe to grow and heal here.
As a volunteer for the next year with Integrative Touch, I feel so grateful to spend my time expanding access to healing services and creating a positive impact within the greater Tucson community. Part of what makes volunteering here so special is how meaningful the work is. I see parents find respite while we provide childcare and therapeutic services. I witness the raw connections between other volunteers and community members. I watch healing happen before my eyes with the long-lasting relationships Integrative Touch fosters. This organization is worth all the time in the world!
I work for Integrative Touch. During my time here, I have seen kids blossom into active participants, adults find their moments of peace and the community connect in deeper ways. Integrative Touch offers profound services and treatments to help bridge the gaps in the American healthcare system along with reintroducing a sense of community to its members. Taking a moment to pause and reflect is a core tenant at Integrative Touch and I hope you choose to experience a moment with us.
When I first met the Integrative Touch team, I was in the midst of major changes with career and a move to a new state. I have a history of trauma and an autoimmune condition that have overwhelmed my life for a while. First, I took part in the TeleWellness series with a different wellness topic each week. Then I included acupuncture, massage, and EFT. Knowing that there is support and feeling like I'm seen has made a huge difference in my life. The onset of my symptoms is less severe as time goes by. 5 stars doesn't seem like enough when Integrative Touch has given me hope and changed my quality of life.
As a long time volunteer and close connection of Integrative Touch, I can confidently say that this organization is full of heart, drive, and dedication! Their impactful programs and passionate team are making a real impact on the local and broad community and provides hope and support to those who need it. It's a pleasure to support such a great organization, and I'm proud to be part of it!

As a long-time volunteer with Integrative Touch who has been in various roles throughout my years (both remote and in-person); I can confidently say that this organization is filled to the brim with passion, support, and care for their community. This is a place that feels like home for so many and I am glad I have been able to be a part of it. From the participants the services directly serve, its' volunteer network, to the leadership team- there truly is a place for everyone and it is nice to see. I appreciate all that this organization is!
I have been volunteering for Integrative Touch for about 10 years and am continually impressed with this caring organization. Integrative Touch offers a wide range of services to help individuals and families, that are impressive and continues growing as times keep changing. Currently they offer Telehealth services, in person therapeutic services, and youth and family programs in their beautiful new Healing Center. Their wonderful vision started with one young girl facing surgery and has expanded to help individuals facing challenges, including their families and their caregivers. Their holistic approach includes healing touch, emotional support, and a community of others. I have been so impressed with their large volunteer force, from teenagers to elders, and seeing the positive responses to their programs has been a gift. I highly recommend Integrative Touch as a GREAT nonprofit!!
I stumbled upon Integrative Touch in the middle of a busy workday and immediately knew I had found something special. A safe zone, a port in the storm, love in every heart I talked to, a smile on every face and a helping hand up. Kate, first of all exudes love and compassion, then I just kept meeting new people, instructors, staff, and other participants all of which knew nothing about me but allowed me to be me, speak without judgement, laugh and even cry.
I am not a fan of needles but the acupuncture sessions were amazing. The Rock and Unlock helped me to break some bonds that were no longer useful in my life.
I would recommend Integrative Touch to anyone needing some balance, direction, perspective, healing, comfort, energy or love!
Katie and the WHOLE team are amazing! Stop by and explore the possibilities. You will NOT regret it!
My experience with Integrative Touch left an indelible mark on my journey to manage depression through trauma therapies. This unique holistic wellness center transcends conventional standards of care, offering an oasis of compassion and personalized support. The staff, more than practitioners, were genuine healers who took time to listen and craft a tailored treatment plan that transformed my mental health.
What truly distinguishes Integrative Touch is their exceptional Heal-It-Forward Scholarship fund, reflecting their unwavering commitment to making trauma therapies, massage, acupuncture, classes and more possible for everyone. It's a testament to their mission of helping as many people as possible. In a world that often rushes through the nuances of healthcare, Integrative Touch shines as a beacon of hope, offering a sanctuary for the mind, body and spirit. If you're seeking unparalleled holistic care, look no further than Integrative Touch. Their commitment to helping others, combined with their exceptional care, makes them a standout in the realm of holistic healing.
I've been a volunteer with Integrative Touch for approximately 11 years now. Today I attended the Grande Opening of their Healing Center. Families and Volunteers who have experienced the power of InTouch over the years attended, including several families of young ones who have since passed.
Today was powerful for me. Seeing families I've partnered with in week-long healing events in the past was astounding. I hadn't realized that we had learned each other at a deep, intensely personal level. There was an appreciation for one another that was so pure, so unique and so transparent, that we were wearing it in every part of our being. Every time I looked up into the crowd, I saw someone that was such a dear part of me, that I just had to hold them and tell them I loved them. I clearly did not expect that. I cannot say enough about the monumental impact of this organization.
So beyond amazing! Everyone I have met has been so kind and genuinely care about their job and being able to help others!
Extremely dedicated, compassionate, and skilled staff and providers with a wide range of offerings geared towards healing and wellness.
As a volunteer at the Integrative Touch Healing Center, I have had the privilege of witnessing and participating in the incredible work that is done.. The staff and fellow volunteers are some of the most genuinely caring and passionate individuals I've ever met. Their dedication to helping those in need is truly inspiring.
As a volunteer, my experience at Integrative Touch Healing Center has been very rewarding. Not only have I learned a great deal about holistic healing, but I've also witnessed the positive impact it has on the lives of those in need. This experience has deepened my understanding of the power of compassion, healing, and community support.
I highly recommend the Integrative Touch Healing Center to anyone seeking a volunteer opportunity or transformative healing that allows them to make a meaningful difference in the lives of themselves and others. It's a place of hope, healing, and transformation, and I am grateful to have been a part of this incredible journey.
I sought treatment here for undiagnosed pain. I couldn't believe how much better I felt after a single session. I've been back 3 times now and I can't recommend them enough. I received a Massage, a Shamanic Body Work session, and Acupuncture on different visits and I feel like a new person. If you're waiting to take care of your self, take the plunge and GET INTOUCH!
I'm so excited about the new Integrative Touch Healing Center located in Tucson, Arizona! From the moment I stepped inside, I could feel serenity and positivity all around me. Not only are there customized treatments for each individual from unique approaches to yoga, massage, specialized therapies and sound healing, they are creating a Kid's Sanctuary, where they will provide child care, camps and fun activities for kids of all different abilities.
What truly warms my heart is the center's commitment to community engagement, by providing opportunities for kids, adults and families to volunteer, that are fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy that reminds us of the power of unity and the collective effort we all play in healing one another.
By building trust, comfort and an unwavering dedication to enhance the lives of everyone who walks through its doors, this new healing center is a true gem to the community. If you're seeking a place of healing, growth, and connection, I recommend embracing the remarkable journey that this healing center has to offer.
The foundation on which Integrative Touch has been built is one of love, inclusion and kindness. As a volunteer working for the Integrative Touch Tele-Friend Program, I can say with confidence that the organization has helped me become an empathetic individual and has broadened my knowledge about neurodiversity and acceptance. It has allowed me to meet and form lifelong connections with some of the best people on the planet, and has given me the opportunity to learn and enhance my knowledge in the process. I will forever be grateful to the team for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
Integrative touch is an incredible organization! Every action that is taken, every service that is offered, is done with the utmost care, attention, and intention. From the Executive Director to the volunteers and support staff, the entire organization is purely committed to their mission. I’ve worked in the fields of rehabilitation and healing for many years and I have never seen such powerful outcomes. Aside from that, the approach is unique, accessible, and supports a population that is often underserved.
Since my first interaction with this organization I have been awed by the dedication, professionalism, love and pure magic that everyone who is a part of Intergrative Touch bring to the team. I really do mean team, or perhaps a better word is community. It is a community for healing. The dynamics of the process are like weaving a gorgeous tapestry. Each one is unique and yet shares a beautiful shared intention to assist and allow each person to find within themselves the skills they need at that moment to grow and reconnect to their own healing.
Having been in therapy off and on for years, I initially thought this would be the same as the others. It could not have been further from the truth! Integrative Touch's approach wasn't to just deal with 'a problem'. My In touch Wellness Team, Patty and Melissa, were wonderful and taught me how to deal with everyday stressors. They taught me that through breathing, meditation and other practices such as oxytocin bath, which is thinking of the best memory you've had and going back and reliving that feeling. And finding a path to living in that feeling when needed. This session was truly much more helpful and meaningful than any 'therapy' I've ever had. And being able to dial into that feeling and work things through now is invaluable.
InTouch is an amazing organization that is filling the gap that exists in healthcare. The staff and volunteers are exceptional and truly believe in the values and mission that InTouch stands for.
I have worked as Program Evaluator at Integrative Touch for several months now and my experience has been nothing but enjoyable. The work being done here changes the lives of children with complex medical needs, their families, and many caregivers. I have seen
first-hand the changes and revelations participants experience upon completion of the services offered at Integrative Touch. I am overjoyed to be a part of such an innovative organization that truly transforms the lives of those in need.
Integrative Touch far exceeds my expectations in every aspect. The staff and volunteers work to not only impact the people that they directly communicate with, but also with the communities that surround them! They take the time to get to know everyone, whether it be a returning participant, another staff member, or a volunteer that is across the world. It is an honor to be able to be a part of an organization that so highly values well-being and healing in a way that truly advocates for and acknowledges every child, family, and greater community.
Integrative Touch is an amazing organization. I have seen how this organization helps so many people. It is not only for children but they support families, communities, and healthcare workers. This organization is for everyone and changes lives for the better!
This is a great organization that does some great work for populations who need it. I have personally seen amazing work being done through the TeleWellness and TeleFriend programs. I have had an overwhelmingly positive experience with InTouch!
I have worked with ITK as an intern for only a short time, and I cannot express how wonderful this company is. The work that they do is phenomenal. I see people helped and healed everyday that I peak into the programs they offer. In terms of management, I don't think I have every worked for a better company. They truly care about their employees, interns, and patients. I hope more and more people are pointed in the direction of ITK, because they will never look back!
I have been a volunteer for Integrative Touch for Kids (ITK) for 8 years now. This groundbreaking organization provides integrative healing therapies to children with special medical needs, as well as their families and caregivers. During the pandemic ITK redesigned their approach to providing services instituting 8 week TeleFriend sessions pairing a volunteer child, a volunteer adult and a child recipient on regular weekly zoom sessions designed to develop friendships through the seclusion. Family members, siblings, and caregivers too receive TeleWellness sessions via zoom presenting them with a wealth of strategies to minimize stress and maintain their well-being. Through the ITK TeleFriend and TeleWellness Program, recipient children, family members, caregivers and volunteers from around the world have been able to participate and benefit from services.
I am a volunteer in ITK's telefriend program for a year and counting. My buddy lives in Chicago and I am so grateful to have met him and spend time with him via zoom every week. The program is more than just volunteering to help kids with special needs, it's also about making wonderful friendships. For example, I am traveling to Chicago this Thanksgiving and during my stay there I will get to see my buddy and we will go enjoy a scoop of ice cream!
I have celebrated Integrative Touch for Kids (ITK) for over seven years. I became aware of this dynamic non-profit when several ITK healing arts practitioners became part of a year long Catalina Tucson Rotary sponsored opportunity I coordinated. Thus, a long term relationship began and I found myself wanting to do more for ITK.
Being a volunteer for ITK represents an honor to serve our Tucson community and beyond. A unique team approach first requires deep listening to the child with special needs, a caregiver, parent or a professional in health care. Volunteers along with ITK practitioners are challenged to utilize everything in their professional and personal “toolkit” to customize healing. Team composition (2 or more) reflect a myriad of skills and specialties. The ITK team members and the clients grow and benefit from the process. As a health professional, it is beyond heart-warming to witness the effectiveness of the approach and client transformation. My ITK weekly service is a diamond in my life.
Further, program evaluators collect data from each session; feedback is given. Best practices are honed. During the pandemic ITK created a mechanism for continued service; innovative tele-health was successfully born as tele-friend and tele-wellness.
I have been a volunteer intern at ITK and WOW I have enjoyed my experience so far. This internship has given me the ability to create new friendships and learn more about the importance of supporting individuals with health concerns in the Tucson community and around the country. ITK is very beneficial for a child’s development because of the types of relationships, activities, and education they gain throughout their experience. ITK offers a strong community of interns, volunteers, and health workers who are all working towards the goal of improving the overall well-being of an individual in any way they can. As a Program Evaluator for ITK, I have first-hand seen individuals feel more supported, loved, and relaxed after a TeleFriend/TeleWellness session. I am very fortunate to be a part of an organization that puts so much love and compassion into their work. I would recommend ITK to any individual, child, or family who is looking for some support in their life.
ITK is an amazing organization that’s seeking to help both children and their families. I’m currently working at ITK as an intern and it has been such a wonderful experience. As an intern, I have worked primarily on the Telefriend series and I have seen first hand how much this program has benefited children who have participated. You are able to see the growth and happiness in the participants throughout the series. Overall, ITK is a wonderful resource for individuals and I would highly recommend the programs that they offer!
I am a volunteer intern with ITK and I have felt extremely grateful to be part of this organization. The leadership and significantly noticeable impact that ITK has had on the Tucson Community and the Wellness Sector as a whole has been inspiring to me. Everyone involved at ITK places a high value on compassion, adaptability, and collaboration. The communal effort and supportive teamwork of the individuals within the organization is notable. I have witnessed transformation and appreciation from the participants and their loved ones for the services provided by ITK. My understanding of health promotion and health intervention has transformed from seeing ITK's impact. My time with ITK has reminded me in my career search to join a community with a tangible impact and an organization where the company values are reflected in their work.
ITK is a wonderful resource for children and adults seeking connections from all over the country. I began working with ITK in August 2021 as a Program Evaluator for ITK's telewellness programs. Even in this short time, it is clear that ITK works to meet the moment.
Since COVID hit, ITK has adapted its programming to ensure the organization could still support the community. As an intern, I had received overwhelming support to help me succeed in my role. The wellness programs are tailored to each individual participant. Much of the organization is run by engaged volunteers who care deeply about the organization's mission. If you are interested in the work ITK is doing, check out the podcast, Conversations on Healing! The podcast is hosted by ITK's Executive Director, Shay Beider, and includes guests from various disciplines.
As an intern at ITK, I have had the privilege of getting to know the team and seeing the amazing work they do. I have never met a group of people so compassionate and driven for a common purpose. It has been an inspiration to work so closely with these people and has truly opened my eyes to the impact these programs have, not only in the lives of the participants, but their families as well. It's been so powerful seeing the participant transform throughout the series and open up more.
I have never worked with a group that has been more organized and dedicated to making everything run smoothly. They are extremely inclusive, and I have always felt valued and respected on the team!
Volunteering at ITK has been such a rewarding process. In just a short period of time, I have seen so many people benefit from ITK's programs. Participants always leave the session lighter and more joyful. The staff is also wonderful and supportive. I can not recommend this organization enough, especially for families with a member with some kind of condition.
As a volunteer for ITK, my entire idea of non-profits and healing work has changed. Before, I was unaware of the positive effects healing services could have on individuals and families as a whole. Through working with ITK, I have come to realize the transformational effect such services can have. For anyone struggling, ITK is an amazing resource and I cannot recommend it enough. The staff is extremely caring and goes above and beyond to ensure their volunteers and participants receive the utmost treatment.
I was touched by the work that ITK does. With the first TeleWellness I was a program evaluator for, I had an instant connection with the healers and the patient for that session. Over time, I was able to see how the healers had a significant impact on the patient, and I was able to watch her grow and become stronger with each session. Though the healers were not directing their lessons to me, I was still able to benefit from the lessons they taught. I am grateful for the experience that I have been having with ITK!
It is such an honor to support the important work of ITK through my role as Advisory Council Member. Everyone on the ITK team - professional and lay - leads with such great passion, kindness, and commitment to ITK's mission. ITK has always played an important role in the Tucson community supporting families whose children have special health and medical needs, but as you can imagine, it's work is more critical than ever before. Through it's innovative telehealth programs, developed in direct response to these unprecedented times, ITK now reaches families far beyond Tucson and is providing much needed support to our amazing healthcare workers fighting this pandemic on the front lines. Giving back has never felt so good!
Integrative Touch for Kids (ITK) is a small but mighty powerhouse run by a creative, dynamic, and tireless team focused on changing the lives of families with kids with special medical needs and their communities. They are making a huge impact within the medical and caregiving spaces as well as they work to not only heal and nurture but to improve wellness and knowledge through training and education. They are an organization growing in all the right ways with a very bright future.
I have been an intern at Integrative Touch for Kids since March 2020 and it has entirely changed my outlook on so many things. When I first joined the team, I was only expecting to stay until July since I was graduating from my university in May 2020. However, we are now in October and I am still here and do not plan on leaving at the moment. I only worked in the office for a few weeks before the state lock down happened, but everyone's communication at ITK is so top tier that the move over to working remotely was smooth. I have been able to personally experience how much ITK had done/continues to do for children and their families and how this organization reaches so many areas in and outside of Tucson. There is just so much joy when I talk to these individuals and they express what ITK means to them and how we all as a team have helped them out in so many ways. Most recently, we have been working with Healthcare workers in our TeleWellness Program and it warms my heart to hear what the program means to them, especially during this tough time right now. The group of people at ITK are also so considerate, welcoming, and are filled with so much empathy. This is another reason why I continue to want to be a part of the organization. They make everyone feel like family and that they have value. ITK has also taught me so much on what I can do to help others and I will forever be appreciative of that. I have been wanting to do my part in the community for a while and I have learned how I am able to, especially in a time of social distancing right now.
I have been volunteering with ITK for over 7 years and have been amazed to see how the programs have continued to grow and adapt. Most recently, I was a TeleFriend volunteer. Having the opportunity to interact with kids and families during this period of social isolation brought so much warmth into my life. The staff and volunteers at ITK are dedicated and act with so much love and compassion. I am honored to able to continue watching ITK grow.
I am a volunteer with Integrative Touch for Kids and I am constantly in awe of the positive impact this organization is having on so many families and providers. The whole ITK team is responsive to the needs of the community. What is most impressive to me is ITK's ability to provide services such as telehealth programs, podcasts, and wellness resources during this difficult pandemic. ITK is innovating the integrative health space and is paving the way to a brighter future in medicine.
I’ve been working with ITK for several months now and I could not imagine a better organization to be a part of. The people who work for ITK are the most caring, warm, and selfless people I have ever met. ITK is doing such good for the world. I’ve been able to see first-hand how their TeleHealth programs are changing peoples lives. It’s inspiring to watch the healers do their magic and help the people ITK works with. I love watching ITK grow, and can’t wait to see what they do next! :)
I have seen firsthand how ITK is changing so many lives for the better, from healthcare providers to kids with special needs and their families. Being a part of the ITK team has been the most amazing experience and I could not ask for a better agency to work with for my internship. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and getting to interact with incredible people who are so passionate about changing the lives of so many people.
Integrative Touch for Kids is a wonderful foundation. I have seen them provided so much support and love to people around the world during COVID-19. I would highly recommend any of my friends or family members to reach out to ITK if they feel in need for emotional or physical support. 10/10 a great foundation!
Rachel Foote-Program Evaluator and ITK Intern (2019-2020)
I am so thankful for my internship with this organization, Integrative Touch for Kids, as it has entirely changed my outlook on healthcare and wellness. I was anticipating this internship as an opportunity for me to give back my time and effort to the Tucson community, which has been my home for the past four years as I have been a student at the U of A. I never expected that I would be the one reaping the benefits of Integrative medicine, and having my life changed by the folks of ITK and the patients and families that I encountered.
ITK’s mission is to change the way people experience health and healing through a Whole Child, Whole Family, Whole Community wellness model. The goal of each session for ITK is to focus on the individual and their needs. The patient is always in the driver’s seat and the ITK team follows their lead, keeping in mind all aspects of their being-medical conditions, family dynamics, and personal emotions. This is such a refreshing view on healthcare, as many times a holistic approach is not always prioritized.
If you are not aware of what integrative medicine entails, but you feel like your family and kiddo can benefit from some wellness care and healing, please reach out to Integrative Touch for Kids and keep up to date on their upcoming events across Tucson!
I was an intern for ITK in 2017 when I was a student at the UofA, and if you have never been to their website or heard of the amazing work they do.... YOU NEED TO! If you are looking to give your time, intern or whatever your case may be, please consider reaching out to ITK. They have amazing opportunities to volunteer at and you get to see some pretty incredible life changing stuff! If you are not able to volunteer, please consider a monetary donation! The ITK team is AMAZING! Incredible organization!
ITK offers hope, love and comfort to families and children with special medical needs. ITK also offers hope, love and comfort to those who volunteer for the organization including myself, as a healing arts practitioner, board member and event committee member. ITK supports and creates health in individual and group relationships.

ITK is an innovative and holistic way to help children with special medical needs AND their entire families to heal and thrive. Documentation shows that ITK changes lives. As a board member, volunteer, and practitioner, I have seen and felt the impact of this organization for myself, for volunteers, and for children and families. ITK provides in-hospital care, community education and outpatient retreats at NO cost to families. I believe this is a model that can change lives and change the world.
Over the years I have volunteered for many non-profit organizations and I have been so impressed with the mission and the work done by Integrative Touch for Kids. The founder Shay Beider has created an innovative program to reduce the stress of children in the hospital and their families during one of the most trying times of their lives. ITK has expanded that program of integrative healing therapies to include Community Clinics, Care for the Caregivers, and Healing Circles. All the staff and their volunteers are the most wonderful people you will ever meet and I feel so lucky to be part of their programs. Volunteering for ITK has been the best experience! Congrats to Integrative Touch for Kids for all the work you do for the community. ❤️

As a volunteer for Integrative Touch for Kids since 2014, I have met the most amazing people who are working to better the lives of families and children with health and medical problems. It is refreshing to work with a non-profit whose main goal is the health and happiness of families. I cannot believe how much work they are able to do with such a small staff and a crew of wonderful volunteers. Everyone of the staff has gone out of their way to make me feel an important part of their organization. How fortunate for me that I found a place to do good works and to feel a real part of the healing community!
Tricia Jones, Tucson AZ
I have been volunteering for ITK for more than 3 years now and I have enjoyed every experience. I found my passion for public health through ITK and it became my life mission to promote community health. The organization has helped thousands of families and inspired so many individuals. The ITK team also provides many opportunities for those in the community to volunteer behind the scenes. I have enjoyed my experience so much that I have encouraged my friends and my sister to volunteer because I know that they can also learn so much. Thank you, ITK! For your hard work, passion, and kindness.
I am so proud to support and volunteer for this caring organization. Everyone I’ve ever interacted with has the best intentions and is so thoughtful in what they do and how they do it. I’m excited to be a part of ITK growing and reaching more people and families.

I love supporting Integrative Touch for Kids in their mission to serve children and families struggling with serious medical needs in our community. The thoughtful care that goes into everything they do is apparent. The visionary healing therapies ITK provides families is setting a new standard in healthcare and it is inspiring to be a part of it. I have attended their annual Butterfly Gala, witnessed firsthand the amazing Hospital Heroes program, and regularly volunteer in the office. I have worked for many different organizations and I am so thankful that I have found a place where I can use my talents and skills to support a passionate team that helps families feel connected, supported and cared for.
Such a wonderful cause and such an amazing group of people. Integrative Touch for Kids helps children and their family deal with serious health issues like cancer and autism. The staff and volunteers are such a caring bunch that you'll feel better yourself just by becoming involved with the organization. I am a fan for life.
I started Volunteering for ITK after hearing about all the great work they do and I fell in love with their organization. I volunteered at their healing circle and I was assigned a kid to hang out with, do arts and crafts wit, listen to live music with and so many other fun things! All while doing this his parents got to do meditation, cooking classes and other relaxing activities. They where so grateful for the time they had relaxing and they where so happy to see their son getting a relaxing massage by one of ITK's healers when they came to pick him up. it was such a positive experience and full of wonderful people.
As a retired teacher, I wanted to find a place to continue to give to the community and I found that here in Integrative Touch for Kids. As a three and a half year volunteer, I am excited to tell others about the wonders that Shay, Kate, and the rest of the hospital team do to those they serve.
Although I work in the office and do "behind the scenes" things, I'm proud to say that I volunteer for ITK. I have seen the difference they make not only at the hospital, but at the community events as well. ITK's Healing Circles bring together families with similar issues and needs while allowing them a day to just...breathe. I watched in awe as the many volunteers and staff worked side by side to ensure that all families were given great care and love. I witnessed children and adults dance, take part in yoga and other self-help seminars, counseling sessions, play time activities, and even helped them create beautiful art pieces.
It is truly amazing the amount of things that this nonprofit organization does with so little. ITK serves the children and families of southern Arizona for free, but most of all, with love, compassion, and care. I encourage you to find a day to watch them in action or better yet, volunteer!

I am a three year volunteer with Integrative Touch for Kids and I can't express my gratitude to Shay, Kate, and the rest of the "crew" who truly make a difference in the lives of Arizona's children and families . Be it be an incurable disease or a traumatic event, many families find themselves in situations that are unimaginable to us and Integrative Touch for Kids is there for them. Never have I seen a more dedicated and totally immersed group of people who give their all so the suffering of others is lessened. Just like a butterfly, ITK continues to morph and add beauty to the world.
Integrative Touch for Kids' Hospital Heroes program places licensed therapists alongside the dedicated doctors and nurses at Diamond Children's Medical Center to aid in the comfort and stress reduction of their patients and families. Through a variety of techniques and their one on one connection, ITK makes a difference. Children and their families, as well as the hospital's staff, look forward to their visits each week. Their smiles are infectious and their gentle touch is soothing.
Integrative Touch for Kids' Healing Circles involve the entire family as well, but outside the hospital setting where fun, relaxation, and healing are paramount. Counseling, group discussions, relaxation techniques and opportunities, as well as games and arts and crafts are just some of the fun and invigorating activities available to those who attend. It is a time for the families to interact with others in a similar situation and gain strength from each other.
Both these outstanding programs are funded solely by the generous donations of others. If you are wanting to volunteer or are looking for a place where your money would make an impact, Integrative Touch for Kids is it. Come join us and help make a difference!
I've been volunteering with ITK for 4 months now, and love the organization! From the mission to the people it's an organization with a lot of heart. They definitely walk the walk that they talk.
I have worked with ITK for around 4 months now and they have become one of my favorite non profits to work with! I had seen them working in the hospital as I volunteered with Diamonds and I was moved by the way they worked with not only the patients but their families and health care team! Phenomenal team with the kindest hearts.
When I first encountered the people working for this nonprofit I was struck by their passion. Their passion to bring ancient healing arts into the heart of hospitals and to demonstrate that these diverse, non-invasive healing techniques significantly reduce pain, anxiety, and insomnia to name just a few. Often these hands on and energetic therapies work when medicine cannot, especially in the case of children who can only handle so much medicine in their little bodies. Not only that, this nonprofit is building systems of care that continue to support children and families after they have left the hospitals. I joined as a volunteer because I am inspired by the authentic passion with which this nonprofit is bringing alternative and integrative medicinal wisdom into the western allopathic medicine system for the benefit of all, starting with kids and their families.
I am proud to be a part of an organization that offers compassionate and individualized care that is often lacking in traditional healthcare services to children and their families in serious medical situations. ITK is filling a need in our community, and I have witnessed ITK staff and volunteers live by example by encouraging wellness lifestyle choices and bringing compassion, kindness, and positivity into the ITK office and culture.
Volunteering with this nonprofit has been an incredible experience. I truly think that everything they do and stand for is amazing, and I'm lucky to be able to contribute. I've worked in their office, volunteered at their gala, and worked at their healing circle and each experience allows me to see a different side of this organization. I love ITK and being able to see what a difference they make in people's lives.
I have had the great opportunity to work with Integrative Touch for Kids (ITK). My experience working with the organization has been amazing! I love everything they do. The first time I volunteered was at the Healing Circle. My friend had worked with the organization and recommenced that I volunteer for the Healing Circle. It was an experience that I will never forget. I loved being able to give so much to the families and children. The Hospital Heroes Program is also amazing and I love working with the team giving back in the clinical setting. The work ITK is doing is second to none and I constantly see how big of an impact that they are making for the community! I would recommend this organization to anyone.
Last year I had the pleasure of being introduced to ITK by a friend. I began by volunteering at their annual Butterfly Gala which was such a great experience! Every person that is a part of the ITK family welcomed me in with open arms from my very first day. I could instantly see from that first day this was such a great community of people giving their own time and wonderful skills to help as many people as possible. The Butterfly Gala was a great introduction into everything that ITK does for this community and the amazing vision they have for this organization! Shortly after that I had the opportunity to volunteer again at one of the Healing Circles ITK puts on. Here I got to see the immediate impact that this organization has on the children and their families. Through healing touch, music circles, and fun cooking classes provided by all their amazing volunteers I got to see children light up and smile from ear to ear the entire day! One thing that I think is so amazing about the ITK vision is not only providing for the children but for the families of these children as well. I saw so many happy children this day but on top of that I got to observe the physical and emotional relaxation of these parents and families. I now have the amazing opportunity of being an intern for these amazing people and organization that impact so many amazing families with what they do. Personally my dad, a cancer survivor, has been in and out of hospitals his entire life and seeing an organization trying to make these visits just a little more enjoyable is something that truly hits home with me and I'm honored to be able to help give back to this community every day any way I can.
As a pediatrician who works with hospitalized children, I can speak first-hand to the impact that the practitioners in Integrative Touch for Kids have on the children and families with whom I work. I have seen children with less pain and parents smile for the first time in days after just one session with the Hospital Heroes. They are often able to reach and connect with patients and their families in a way that I can't and support them so beautifully on their illness journey. I am so proud to know them.

I continue to be amazed by the work ITK is doing. I have worked for them for two years, and have seen the way they transform lives through healing. My area of research and work is in holistic healing, and the understanding that healing is different from curing. It is stronger and longer lasting. ITK has understood the healing process completely! Moreover, ITK brings these therapies to families who are economically disadvantaged and underserved, giving them access to these much-needed healing techniques, when they otherwise would never have them. It is moving healthcare in a direction that is more holistic and personalized. To me, it is the future.

I am simply blown away by the work of Integrative Touch for Kids (ITK). I have seen their work first-hand in the hospital. I have seen children who were in pain be soothed. I have seen parents who were distressed and anxious for their children be given care and strategies for handling their stress and supporting their child. I have seen transformations in a single 20, 30 or one hour session. Truly, this organization has the power to transform the way we care for and handle children with special medical needs-- to create the best outcomes for all.
Oursranding organization. Excelence in care for special need kids and their families. A team of compassionate practitioners and volunteers making what seems difficult and impossible to a heart warm experience. A vision and mission very clear to its core.

My experience with ITK starts from the very beginning. I’ve been volunteering for the past 10 years. It’s coutless the life changing moments I’ve witnessed throughout the years . ITK serves also as a bridge that connects families that are isolated from society just because they are caring for a child with special needs. The organization provides a g is their Motto. The new hospital heroes program has grown exponentially due to the level of healing broght to hospital settings. All I can say is that this organization provides healingvariety of healing modalities to a child in need , as well as to the entire Family. Healing and empowerin, inclusion, empowerment and love above all.
ITK changed our lives. We received support and understanding for raising a child with special needs. We felt more peace and healing and a community of support.
Integrative Touch for Kids (ITK) is an amazing, visionary non-profit. I first learned about their work about two years ago. Their Hospital Heroes Program at Banner Children’s Medical Center stands out. It offers integrative therapy modalities like massage, Healing Touch, play therapy, and acupressure for hospitalized children and their families free of charge.
As young child I went through many traumatic medical experiences, so right away I wanted to help support this wonderful program. ITK’s Hospital Heroes therapists make a big difference. They help calm fearful kids and reduce the pain and worry that can come with stressful hospital stays or chemotherapy.
The results are so remarkable that the Hospital Heroes Program is leading the way for other children’s hospitals to do the same. To this end, ITK is presenting its program research at several national conferences this year.
Today I now serve as a volunteer grant writer for ITK. I’ve met so many inspiring people and heard many deeply moving stories. I’m grateful and honored to help support ITK’s important work. They are a true treasure in our Tucson community!
Itk changed our lives! We felt alone and overwhelmed until we were invited to participate in a Healing Retreat. That week changed our lives and got us much needed help and bonds with other families that would last a lifetime. Having a child/children with special needs affects the WHOLE family and having a community there to support the whole family and provide therapies to help deal with your everyday challenges has been a godsend!! If you are a family with a special needs child I highly recommend looking into ITK and all the wonderful benefits it offers unique families like ours!!
ITK and its unique vision makes this is a very special non-profit with an integrative approach to healing and support for special needs children and their families, Having both been a volunteer and honored to be a hosted family at what was a game changing retreat, I have witnessed first hand the wonderful work that ITK does.
Shay and her fine staff and all of the volunteers continue to make ITK a very special non-profit of the highest order. Onward and upward ITK! Bravo!
We where a participating family at the very first healing retreat. It was an amazing magical experience that helped bring our family closer together. After the 1st year as a receiving family we have continued to volunteer with the program on many different levels. We have had the honor of watching ITK blossom and grow over the years.
ITK is an incredible organization that supports families with unique kids. We attended a retreat and it was life changing! Not only did we get support, but I left with a family of people that understood our challenges even though theirs were different. We later ended up receiving services through the hospital heroes program. Being in the hospital is really difficult with stays sometimes over two weeks long. My son and I would always look forward to ITK visits to take away some anxiety and make our stay a little less stressful. All of the people involved with ITK are incredibly beautiful souls and we are so honored to be a part of this amazing organization!
ITK is truly amazing nonprofit organization that offers help to children and families of Tucson that face and endure special medical needs. They offer a unique approach in that they support both the children and the families affected by catastrophic and chronic diseases and illnesses. I am very blessed to be associated with such wonderful group of caring and selfless people.
heart centered, caring organization that brings light and hope into the lives of families with children dealing with a variety of medical issues. The children get healing touch and friendship, the families get a sense of calm and even the doctors and nurses in hospital get a massage or therapeutical healing to ease their day of dealing with trauma. What a gift to everyone involved.
We were fortunate to have been selected as one of the special needs family for the ITK healing retreat . It changed our lives forever. We have never felt such kindness and support from a group of volunteers.
Their hearts were filled with love and compassion as we worked through some very difficult emotions. The volunteers always went above and beyond to cater to our every need.
Prior to the retreat, my husband and myself struggled in our married and stressed over our daughters condition and what it meant for our family. We learned how to love each other again and cherish every moment with our children. We are better parents because of ITK.
ITK brought together wonderful people who we have grown to love and our friendships will last forever. We now know we're not the only ones going through this and so blessed to have this extended ITK family. We love them dearly!!!!
Integrative Touch for Kids is a unique non-profit organization. It is the only entity in Arizona (and, possibly, the country) that provides a wide range of healing touch therapies for children with a disability or a chronic disease. Its Hospital Heroes Program delivers these services to children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units and to children in hospital for the treatment of cancer and other life threatening diseases. Additionally, ITK has held week long and weekend retreats for children and their families. The response from families, caregivers, doctors, nurses and other medical personnel is overwhelmingly positive. Children are able to reduce stress in preparation for medical procedures and parents also receive the same benefits. Doctors are fully supportive of ITK because they see the positive impact these services have on their patients and family members
ITK came into our lives at a time when we needed it most. We took part in one of their first retreats and, as a result, have made wonderful connections and lifelong friends. The experience has changed our lives and shown us the depth of caring and compassion of our community. Truly, love in action.
ITK has played a vital role in my families life for 5 years. We started out as a family participant at a week long retreat. Since the retreat we have moved to a volunteer role as much as we are able to. ITK has changed us in ways I can't even explain. I have 5 kiddos with multiple diagnosises. I was amazed at how much the grew in that week at the retreat. Less emotional melt downs, more communication and overall being able to handle situations better. We call it the ITK bubble of love and acceptance. Whenever we are with the ITK family we don't have to worry about judgement or stares or being told what we are doing is wrong. We have support, acceptance and are surrounded by people who want to help.
ITK was life changing for our family. The love, support, friendship, knowledge and sense of community we gained are incredible. As a family who received, everyone gained a lot. My child with special needs gained treatments she had never experienced, which helped her speech explode; my child withough special needs gained friendships and understanding she is not alone in this; my husband and I connected with others who understood our life.... we all took away great value that we are still today applying to our lives. We first came across ITK about 4 years ago. We still attend functions and highly value our connections we made years ago. ITK is unique and special. It teaches about integrative and holistic approaches, like massage, reiki, bars, aromatherapy, horse therapy etc that were unknown before. The moms from our group talk regularly, and support one another. It's a like minded group who "gets it", understands what it's like to be raising a child with unique and special needs. We share resources, struggles and triumphs. I honestly can't say enough how great and needed integrative touch for kids was for my family. Thank you Integrative Touch for Kids.
ITK has been a special part of our lives. The summer retreat brought our entire family together and for the first time we were taken care of. I have a child with autism, a younger one who was in the NICU for 3 months and my parents are helping me raise both children. The family retreat was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to be restored, refreshed and renewed. I treasure our time with ITK and the wonderful staff, volunteers and friends that are a part of the organization.
I am a long time volunteer for ITK. ITK is totally unique in its approach to and what it provides to families with children with special needs and life changing health issues. A myriad of services from hands on support, emotional, psychological and various therapeutic offerings are available to families that can't be found in other places. ITK offers ongoing support... again unique in that what is provided is not just a one time event. The families who have benefited from these special services have stayed connected over years.....a value that is priceless and unusual. I wish that ITK could provide what they do to more families and am hopeful that one day soon that will be the case.
ITK is a wonderful non-profit organization helping children (and their families)of all ages with severe medical challenges. Giving them the opportunity, comfort and support through many stages of their illness and care. Allowing many opportunities to do things that on a normal day they would not be able to do.
I have donated 9 years of my time working with this wonderful organization.
I would love to see as many people get involved to help these children and their families to continue to have as much of a normal life as possible.
Sandy
I never new the impact that the acts of kindness from strangers would have on my life.
I was always a giver, but new not how to receive until that day that are world turns upside down. My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. A year later my husband her father would die of kidney cancer. I would spend the next 5 years until this current day trying to bring my famly along, including my now 19 year old son.
ITK showed my Little famly kindness. ItK introduced me to other famlys who's lives revolved around a medically fragile child. ITK Gave me time away from my little girl so I could heal with my son, incorporating equine therapy. ITK had nurses on sight at the retreat so that I was confident that my daughter was taken care of while I was in group. I could not finance such a get away as the famly ITK retreat, and it was the first time I had ever received such kindness.
To this day Every Volunteer at ITK has shown me the gift of giving. I cannot thank ITK enough and remain grateful and eager to be of any event.
ITK has given us the tools to take with us to grow a stronger family bond with integrative therapy. It has given us an opportunity not only to look at my child's needs but our needs as a family. It has grow a stronger support unit with like minded people. Mom support group has been a blessing regardless of our distance from each other we still keep in touch and communicate on a regular basis. We are family.

As a retired teacher, when looking for a place to volunteer, kids were to be the main focus and Integrative Touch for Kids certainly fit that bill. The impact this nonprofit has on children and their entire family is incredible. ITK focuses on the health of not only the ailing child, but the family as well since an illness impacts everyone. Being in a hospital is a scary place for many and with the help of Integrative Touch for Kids, patients and their families are able to relax and breathe a little easier. Throughout the year, one on one hospital visits, the fabulous ITK Play Dates, and their Healing Circles, allow healing to begin.
If you are looking for a place to help out your community either through your volunteering services or through a donation of money, Integrative Touch for Kids is a wonderful spot. It’s a wonderful organization where everyone involved is dedicated to the betterment and wellness of children and their families. I encourage you to become involved.
I have been volunteering for a few months now as a grant writer with ITK. As a "serial volunteer", I have been involved with several non-profits over the years. ITK is one of the most well-run and passionate organizations I have encountered. I had the opportunity to "shadow" one of their healing practitioners as she worked directly with pediatric patients, providing comfort therapy to them during hospital stays. What a unique and valuable service they offer to these children. I am honored to play a small role in the continued success of this special organization.
I'm a retired Special Education Teacher. I was looking for some volunteer work and heard about ITK from a friend. The first retreat I volunteered at was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I saw what a life changing experience it was, not only for the families chosen for the retreat, but also for all the many volunteers. From then on I was hooked. I have been a part of 3 retreats and will be participating in my fourth this summer. ITK is truly a great non-profit.
A spectacular nonprofit organization that stands for a wonderful cause. ITK reaches out to the families and children of Tucson with special medical needs in a unique and caring way. I am proud to offer continued support for this organization and am thankful to have been a part of it. What a life changing experience!
As a current volunteer for Integrative Touch for Kids, I can confidently say that the time I have spent with the organization has been 100% positive. I have gained valuable knowledge on integrative medicine, supporting the special needs community as well as personal relations experience. It is always a pleasant working environment with all co-volunteers, employees and leadership. The ITK mission is inspiring to be a part of and the perfect place for a community member to share their time.
