The Samaritan Women consistently provides the highest quality standards of education and support for their programs and cohorts. Everything they do is done with excellence and covered in prayer. Their faith in God and vision for the future are to be commended. They care about the unseen and meeting their needs in order to bring people into a relationship with Jesus. I can think of no better Christ centered organization to be affiliated with and to support.
As a former learner in their classroom, I can confidentially say it's hard to find better training, espcially in the non-profit world. Everything they do is done with excellence and the materials they create and share are very appreciated by attendees. Participants walk away with not only new knowledge to help their mission, but they leave with tangible items they can customize and make their own.
It is great to see firsthand how The Institute for Shelter Care lives out it's mission - The Institute for Shelter Care equips Christian ministries with the knowledge, skills, tools, and community needed to provide exemplary restorative care to the sexually exploited. From creating training opportunities, to creating environments to encourage each other to various training opportunities and tools for shelters this organization does it all with excellence.
When I served in my role as the human trafficking task force coordinator for the state of Alabama, working under the Alabama Attorney General, I often looked to the resources and leadership of the Insitute for Shelter Care for guidance and insight.
Samaritan Women leads with excellence, compassion, and incredible national research. No one does what they do. Samaritan Women’s spiritual healing programs educate medical, social work, and mental health professionals about the unique needs of trafficking victims. TSW's institute is providing critical support to anti-trafficking shelters that will ensure individuals healing from sex trafficking receive the best care possible! Our team is honored to work with and support the incredible staff at Samaritan Women’s.
The Institute of Shelter Care consistently provides the highest quality standards of education and support for their programs and cohorts. Their staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional. They bring acumen to a field in need of advocacy and a level of professionalism through data and analytics to identify trends, training resources, advocacy, and encouragement. Everything they do is done with excellence and covered in prayer. Their faith in God and vision for the future are to be commended.
With the training provided by the Institute for Sheltered Care, Micah's Promise will be able to retool our materials with assurance that the organization, staff and board are all on the right track with not only what we provide for the survivors, but also how we provide for them. These training sessions have been invaluable and will touch every part of our organization from the board, financial management, survivor services, communications and fundraising, etc.
The Samaritan Women has "renewed" hundreds of women by providing a safe, loving and spiritual place to renew their lives. The need is so great to help individuals nationally, that the new focus at TSW - Institute for Shelter Care, is to provide educational, mentoring and partnership support to agencies throughout the US. This re-purpose will provide exemplary care to thousands seeking a safe place to land. Kudos to TSW!
The Samaritan Women-Institute for Shelter Care has come alongside my non-profit for 3 years now. I am continually amazed at the excellent work that The Samaritan Women does to help shelters working with trafficking survivors be the BEST they can be! I was first impressed when I heard Jeanne Allert, Founder and Executive Director say, that often when there is a crisis in our nation it is the Christians that go in first to intervene and come out last. She believes we who are doing this work should be skilled and prepared to do this and with excellence!! This speaks highly of their dedication and commitment to serve.
I have experienced that the staff at The Samaritan Women are God focused first, and they work tirelessly to effect positive change in this field. My organization has benefitted from the trainings, resourceful studies, support & connections and also their commitment to prayer and intercession for needs. I am quite proud and thankful to be "under the wings" of such a great organization!
Courage, understanding, and compassionate Christian witness to the dignity of every person as a child of God. Those are the qualities that most stand out to me about TSW. I am honored and humbled to be a supporter since hearing a presentation they gave on human trafficking at our church more than four years ago. I was impressed by how they were raising awareness about the largely invisible, ugly tragedies that take place every day, and even more so by the dedicated individuals who stepped up to provide sensitive and comprehensive rehabilitation care to those who were suffering. Clearly moved by divine inspiration, TSW is now multiplying the value of its extensive and successful hands-on experience by training other groups working to combat the evil of human trafficking around the country -- a mission of love eminently worth of support.
I have been blown away time and time again by this amazing organization. They have so many years of experience and are able to share what they have learned with other organizations that are working to provide services for clients who need specific care. I am honored to have been a volunteer there when the house was open and am now honored to work side by side on this mission. By far one of the best in this industry with professionalism and experience.
Love this organization and what they are doing to help fight human trafficking. Their seminars are excellently presented, informative and very helpful.
Great organization doing great things! Their work expanding the reach of their organization to help other organizations follow a similar model is top notch.
The Samaritan Women - Institute for Shelter Care has been a God sent to us at Zoe Freedom Center. We were accepted as a 2021 Mentee and they have provided exemplary service and invaluable teachings and guidance. Establishing a non profit is tough, but we feel much more equipped with a stronger foundation as a result of completing the first phase. We are putting what we learned into motion, and TSW has been there every step of the way. Through the monthly checkins and open door policy, they have made such a difference in our organization. We are thankful to be included in the program as we are primarily an addiction services organization which will specialize in the restorative care of trafficking survivors with addictions. TSW is a Great Nonprofit and their vision, "that any survivor, anywhere in the nation, would have access to qualified, compassionate care" in which to heal, is desperately needed.
As the former Grant Committee chair for the Catonsville Womens Giving Circle, I have had multiple opportunities to tour this facility and hear about their work, in addition to meeting the women they help. I am amazed at what an incredible job they do and at the impact of their work. This nonprofit provides a critical and scarce service to combat human trafficking and assist its victims in recovering and reestablishing their lives.
Samaritan women is working here in the USA to curb sex slavery .
I applaud their work
They are located in one of our major cities of Baltimore.
Thank you for helping them do their work !!

Far exceeds expectations. I have been in training sessions which were very thorough, helpful and dynamic with resources.
2 years ago I had the dream to help victims of sex trafficking but did not know how. I had a vision of offering hope & healing but not the tools to start a project from scratch. A letter to a potential donor crossed my path which is where I learned about the Mentorship Program. An intensive program to help others us build a sustainable program -With the mentorship of the team at Samaritan Women we are 1/2 way to opening up a shelter in Kansas. I also want to thank the donors of TSW because your donations allowed TSW to prepare/plan/staff & provide the research for this program. Your donations are exponential and will have a ripple effect across this nation to help victims of exploitation heal, find hope and a future.
This is an amazing organization. The work they do is so spirit led & filled it's incredible. The women they help (which isn't even a good enough word for they truly do) receive life changing care. There aren't words to describe the work and care I've seen their staff do and give, it is incomparable.
I have been working with the Samaritan Women for almost 3 years now, and have nothing but praise for this organization. Their educational resources on topics of human trafficking, sexual abuse, and pornography are extremely thorough and helpful, and they are continually expanding their offerings. Their staff is clearly passionate about fighting against trafficking and disseminating important information on this topic to all communities. Not to mention the work their shelter in Baltimore is doing on the ground. I consider myself blessed to work with this excellent organization!
I had the opportunity to attend an awareness/fundraising event at Samaritan Women's campus. It was not only a well run event, but powerful in it's content, eye opening and inspiring. I hope to support them further financially as well as volunteer in the future. I pray daily for their continued "success" in making more people aware of this unacceptable activity in our state and in our country.
They provide a much needed service to those who are terribly undeserved. And they provide that service with love, grace and mercy. This world needs that!
This team is the real deal. They approach their work with passion, excellence, and joy. TSW's Institute for Shelter Care is providing critical support to anti-trafficking shelters that will ensure individuals healing from sex trafficking receive the best care possible!
I have admired and prayed for this organization for more than a decade! They are real, smart, generous to their calling and selfless in their approach to trafficked women! They create hope and new beginnings! Can’t say enough about this amazing team of committed people!

This is an EXCEPTIONAL group of people who do EXTRAORDINARY work! Their deep, personal commitment to God in helping to alleviate personal suffering for the trafficked population is felt on every level! Truly an OUTSTANDING ministry!
A tremendous resource for other agencies providing housing resources for survivors. Keep up the great work!
TSW (The Samaritan Women) has been a presence in the Baltimore area for many years. They offer compassionate care to those women who find themselves caught in the web of trafficking. This blight on society has been evident since the start of time and TSW is working hard to remove it. Their staff is caring and compassionate. Their programs are proven and effective. They offer training for houses and staff across our nation which allows them to share their insights and experiences with a larger audience. I serve as a volunteer and I am grateful for, and support, their mission.
Love everything this nonprofit does to equip, empower and encourage women and children who are held in bondage to the sex trade. Yesterday I attended a really informative webinar from them about human trafficking and I appreciate what they are doing to bring awareness to this issue. So often it is swept under the rug because it makes many people, including myself, feel so uncomfortable and overwhelmed. They were so kind and patient! Knowing they are a Christian organization only makes their mission all the more personal to me. Continuing to hope they expand and do all that God has called them to do to set free the captives. Be blessed y’all!!
Great organization that uses evidence-based practices and research to inform shelter programming

TSW is an excellent authority on human trafficking and survivor care. They are compassionate, willing to listen, and extremely encouraging of all efforts, big and small. I loved working and volunteering there!
Samaritan Women is a group that is truly loving one woman at a time just as Jesus did. The folks they reach are some of the most vulnerable in our society that learn how to survive after trauma.
They personally contacted me by phone, email, and mailed a card thanking me for a donation. I attended a free webinar and plan to attend more and am going to get more involved, most likely as a volunteer.
The Samaritan Women Is a safe haven for individuals rescued from human trafficking and domestic trauma. The center with its holistic approach toward healing is a vital part of our community. I supported Jeanne and her fine staff at the conception of this great vision and mission. I remain confident and overjoyed by the continuum of the teams dedication, integrity and compassion.

The opportunities provided for clients at this nonprofit are incredible. The work they do is essential for healing harm and adding good back into the world. I’ve volunteered here 3 times already, and it’s always an invigorating time for the heart, mind and soul.
The Samaritan Women is a very well-run organization that is committed to liberating women who are victims of human trafficking. The organization comes at the problem from all different angles and has more than a decade of experience supporting this under served population. They are the real deal!
I would like to thank the Samaritan Women for all they do for the least of them . They serve a population of women who the world would consider the least of them. They take the group of women they serve from the sex trafficking industry and teach them they are more than what they’ve been through by showing them unconditional love in a no judgment zone and build them up from the ground up.
I’ve volunteered with Samaritan women sometime ago. But, I have been impacted deeply by not only the volunteers that are truly invested in this mission, but also the women that they serve, who I had the pleasure of working side-by-side with
Samaritan Women was able to welcome a young lady that we were trying to help... and there was no where that was available for her to find the hope and healing she needed. She found that hope and healing at Samaritan Women and is thriving today.
They do what they promise to do and more. Having volunteered for them since my college days, I am more grateful than ever before for the work they have done to bring hope and a fresh start to victims of human trafficking. As such, I will continue to support the work of TSW wholeheartedly!
As a donor I love the work that The Samaritan Women does and has been doing. I also appreciate their transparency and honesty of the issues that trafficking has on the nation and where they are using funds.
I 1st heard about this charity through a Baltimore Sun news article .
I was so taken aback by the story That I immediately Made a pledge to support samaritan women monthly.
I have known The Samaritan Women for the last 10 years and it has been encouraging to see how they have stayed true to their vision of putting survivors' of human trafficking first all these years!
I’ve worked as a volunteer for The Samaritan Women and have seen first hand the huge impact they’ve had on trafficking survivors. And, now, as pioneers in the field, they are taking all they’ve learned and are multiplying their impact by teaching others how to create similar programs!
The best comprehensive healing and training program in the Baltimore area for trafficked and homeless women. They provide Christ centered grace and practical skill training that helps these girls and women not only leave their circumstances, but create new and better futures.
The Samaritan Woman organization daily - hourly, even - fulfills its mission with excellence.
I am a humble and proud - and grateful - supporter of TSM.
The Samaritan Women not only provides urgent and ongoing care for women in need, they are also an invaluable community resource, providing education and opportunities for advocacy that our church members can use to get involved in the mission of providing access to qualified, compassionate care.
There are very few organizations that provide the need that The Samaritan Women provides. Their "model" of doing should be replicated 10,000 times over because the need is that great; & what they provide meets that need. Find it in your heart to volunteer or help in any way.
I have been involved with this ministry for over 10 years. They have grown over the years in a responsible way. Always looking for Gods leading in the work and responding. They are fiscally responsible being good stewards of peoples donations and time.
I started volunteering at The Samaritan Women for a 4 week internship requirement and 5 and a half years later I am still volunteering there. I believe in the mission The Samaritan Women has and the genuine love and care they give to every single woman that passes through it's doors. The women that reside there have the opportunity to not only heal and recover from their past, but to better their chances of reaching for a better life. They are given the opportunity to work for their GED, to enroll in college courses, receive tutoring, learn practical life skills, create art projects, and much, much more... I can't imagine a better environment for the healing and learning these women need.
I've been volunteering with The Samaritan Women for several years and this organization is a game-changer for victims of human trafficking. They serve the community with faith-focused hearts and I am so grateful to be a small part of it.
A mission trip in 2015, was the first time I was blessed to visit The Samaritan Women and meet some amazing young ladies who lived there. We were able to lead a retreat for them and love them like Jesus. That experience left me with an unwavering desire to have a restorative home for women who desired to escape the chains of sex trafficking in my home state. I’ve been back several times, but on this last trip I co-led an immersion trip that focused on being educated on the issue of sex trafficking. One of the most impactful moments of this trip for me was being able to interact with the ladies in the graduate house all of whom I had met from previous trips. Seeing their growth and success through the program was so moving. This is what TSW is all about; seeing them succeed beyond the program and having a relationship with Christ. The Samaritan Women has been a foundational sound program that not only has provided exeptional support for the ladies that participate, but also for the volunteers who come to help out. They have proven to be substantial in educating other agencies on the atrocity of this issue, and leading potential shelter foundations on the business side of having a restorative home, and spiritual responsibilites of getting involved.
I became a volunteer at TSW about 5 years ago and have been amazed at the work that TSW does. Not only do they make sure that the ladies are taken well care of physically but also help the ladies heal mentally and emotionally, and grow spiritually. I have served as a coverage supervisor and have seen the ladies turn into mature confident women who know they are loved and valuable. The staff at TSW is amazing and they work hard to continual to improve their programs. TSW also continues to make others aware of the evil of human trafficking and now they are teaching other organizations what they know so that other groups can fight this evil. TSW is a wonderful organization and I have been blessed to be a volunteer at TSW!
My wife and I have supported Samaritan Women for years- Really great organization doing actual things AND trying to share what works with others who lead similar organizations. Some really great people to get behind and support- the results go well beyond the many who come to the actual property. Highly recommend.
The heart for those in need is clearly evident with the staff of The Samaritan Women. This growing organization is an inspiration to watch in action and a joy to support individually or with our church. A few weeks ago, we had an opportunity to work in the garden with other volunteers. It was such an encouragement to see a community come together and get their hands dirty for the sake of the Kingdom and these women in need. I was especially thrilled to see how TSW welcomed youth to serve alongside adults.
I had the pleasure of spending a week with TSW and learning all about their vision and mission. I was accompanied by 8 other ladies from our church in Louisville, Ky. We were going to learn as much as we could in a short time about domestic Sex Trafficking.
We were blown away by the incredible staff and even more so by TSW's many faithful volunteers.
I am overwhelmed by the vision and leadership of Jeanne Allert, the founder and executive director. Our group of ladies will be forever changed by this experience. It was a chance to gain so much more than knowledge, it was a call to action! If you get a chance to visit this exceptional nonprofit or even more so to support it financially through a one time gift or even purchasing the fabulous biscotti that they make, you absolutely should!
The Samaritan Women have been leading the restorative care work for many years. Those of us who follow TSW know that we are watching a team who brings excellence to all they do. TSW is a trustworthy organization. You can rest assured that your time talent and treasure is put to worthwhile use for the sake of the exploited and abused.
I have been working with the Samaritan Women for about two years providing spiritual care and support to those who are called to do this work. The love and compassion that they have for the work that they do is a love that only God can provide. Through the Samaritan Women I have been made aware of a situation that I didn't know existed in the US, let alone my own backyard. The Samaritan Women are aggressively attacking domestic human sex trafficking head-on. The dedication and commitment of those who provide care for the ladies who are residents of The Samaritan Women is awesome and effective. I am blessed to have the opportunity to provide spiritual care and support for those who give their lives to save a life
I have volunteered at the Samaritan Women for about 5 years and it has been an amazing blessing. The women I have met there are so very brave and TSW gives them an opportunity to heal, grow, form friendships, have responsibility and to realize they are worthy of Love and are capable of a bright future. TSW is a wonderful place!
After serving with The Samaritan Women for a little more than a year, I've realized that their affect is deep as well as wide. They achieve great depth in the restoration offered to the women they serve, all the while reaching thousands with training, education, and general awareness about the issue of domestic sex trafficking. This organization stands out as a leader in the field, yet remains humble and eager to learn from others. It’s been a pleasure to work with the staff, volunteers, and clients alike.
I volunteered with The Samaritan Women in 2012 and was immediately instilled with a desire to help further this organization's mission. They compassionately and responsibly care for the residents in their shelter program, engage the community in volunteer projects, and have mobilized thousands through their awareness campaigns. The Samaritan Women also houses the newly established Institute for Shelter Care, which conducts much-needed research surrounding shelter services for survivors of human trafficking. This is a truly incredible organization that refuses to leave the vulnerable behind.
The Samaritan Wome is a place where women who have been rescued from human trafficking find hope and healing in a safe loving environment. It is a Christian organization that helps women further their education, heal physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have had the privilege of volunteering with this organization for almost 9 years. The staff, volunteers and board of directors are constantly seeking ways to learn and grow themselves and the ministry.
I've been involved with The Samaritan Women for approximately two years, and it has been an amazing experience to work with people who are so strongly committed to serving those who have been the victims of human trafficking. Their leadership is focused on serving at every step a need exists, from advocacy, through awareness, and recovery and restoration! I especially want to point out the long-term and tireless impact Jeanne Allert has made--her leadership is unfailing, her passion for the needs of others is unwavering, and her boldness to stand against the predators is undaunted!
I have been volunteering at The Samaritan Women since 2009. The work that is being done here is amazing. The staff is excellent and the care the residents receive is 2nd to none.
Since September 2016 I have served at The Samaritan Women as Volunteer Maryland Coordinator through an AmeriCorps program called Volunteer Maryland in the Governor's Office of Community Initiatives. It has been my absolute pleasure to work with this organization's amazing volunteers, and a privilege to see an organization so dedicated to helping a population in need.
The Samaritan Women has operated since 2007 and has provided residential services since 2012. Volunteerism and radical, selfless service have always been at the heart of this organization, and volunteers have made it possible for us to offer amazing opportunities for our residents and expand our services. Volunteers serve in remarkably varied capacities; in all areas of our organization. There are always new ways to get involved and engage in this work. While serving here I have been so inspired and humbled to see our volunteers' dedication and the hope they bring to us when they serve: hope that cultural change is possible to end human trafficking, and hope that we can offer the absolute best there is in survivor services for our clients and make a true impact on their restoration.
The Samaritan Women is an incredible organization and they are truly doing the Lord's work. The first time I pulled up to TSW to complete my volunteer training was approximately two years ago. I remember feeling nervous and excited. As I left that day, I cried and realized this was a special place where God's goodness and grace meets darkness and evil. I serve as a tutor and I love going to TSW weekly to experience the joy and love radiating from the staff, volunteers, and residents. I highly recommend TSW if you are looking for a way to plug in and get involved in the Baltimore community. Volunteering there is highly rewarding!
My wife and I have been serving--enthusiastically--as liaison between our church, Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, and The Samaritan Women for about three years. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives, and we are so grateful to Christ for steering us in this direction! We help organize trips for the Samaritan Women to locations around Baltimore and then to lunch. We take them to the annual Severna Park High School Rock and Roll Revival, and recently we took them to our church's production of Godspell. We organize church donations of clothing , household articles, and reading supplies. We recruit additional volunteers to help out at The Samaritan Women as well. We also teach GED courses for the ladies, mine in social studies and my wife's in reading. We are heartened by the enthusiasm and hard work of the ladies with whom it has been our privilege to work. Bill and Beth Hadley
I have been volunteering for about two years now as a driver and tutor on a regular basis. TSW has an incredible staff who are so dedicated and skilled at the work they are doing to restore, educate, and develop a model of care that our nation so desperately needs. The transformation that takes place in these women is an honor to watch. TSW provides an opportunity for healing and redemption rooted in love. It's a hard road to travel for the victims of domestic human trafficking to get out of the life, but God is at work at TSW and miracles happen everyday at this place. I wish everyone had the opportunity to sit across from one of these young women because in her face you will see your sister, your friend, your daughter, and a child of God. Whether you are praying for TSW, donating your time, talent, or treasure, know that this is an organization that walks the walk.
I've volunteered many times with The Samaritan Women, and the staff is always happy and welcoming! It's a great place to learn about the issues of human trafficking.
It's an awesome place full of love! The residents are excited to share their progress with the volunteers and staff. Each phase of the program seems to give new hope.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
I always enjoy volunteering at TSW. They are such a great organization and all of the people there love what the do. I am glad they can make a difference in other people's lives and support women in need. The staff and volunteers are always positive and provide a welcoming environment for everyone.
I have worked with this ministry for about 5 years and have seen amazing things happen. There is a wonderful feeling of community and family. Most of the women served continue to be apart of the TSW family even after they leave the program. It's an amazing organization and I feel so blessed to serve there.
The work being done by TSW is incredible. The staff, board and volunteers put their hearts into every task, big or small. It is an honor to be a part of this ministry's work and a humbling experience to see how the lives of these women are changing!
I have been with the Samaritan Women for just under three months and can honestly say that God is here. The work being done for these women is not always easy, as is true for all non-profit work, but seeing the improvements in the lives of the residences is a constant reminder of how good God is and how He always provides when you are doing His work. There is a big whole in helping domestic victims of human trafficking and this is an organization that is trying, in conjunction with other organizations across the US, to fill this hole. This organization is also on the forefront of trying to fight to reduce the number of victims out there. If you are looking to volunteer with, donate to, or just pray for an organization, this is a great organization to pick.
For those who commit themselves to volunteer activity in service to the most needy persons in the human family, there are innumerable options and opportunities. Some provide immediate relief to human needs; some provide long-term healing from trauma. When I retired, I chose to offer my talents and experiences, my passion and my time to The Samaritan Women, an organization dedicated to bringing hope for new life to women victims of complicated traumas resulting from years of domestic sexual trafficking. The Samaritan Women provides a residential environment of care, education, guidance, positive experiences, and spirituality within a home-like residence with family-like responsibilities. Pope Francis has said: "Our efforts must aim at restoring hope, righting wrongs, and maintaining commitments, and thus promoting the well-being of individuals and peoples." Such is the work of this nonprofit organization, supported mainly through individual and corporate or foundation contributions, functioning with a very small staff, and using hundreds of volunteers who are passionate about this ministry. Those who serve these wounded women offer them faith in their human dignity, hope in a future they had not realized they had, and love which they had not previously experienced. As they heal, these women find talents and strengths which will enable them to succeed once they complete their residential program.
I discovered TSW as a volunteer over three years ago and have never looked back. As TSW has so adeptly phrases it, the battle against Human Trafficking is really a battle against modern day slavery. That's the gravity of this issue and TSW isn't afraid to tell it like it is. The maturity of the organization is evident in the scope of their work, which stretches from pioneering policy development and legislative reform, to changing the lives of individuals through their restorative care program. Over the years I have worked with several levels of staff, board member, volunteer and client, I can say with certainty that this institution walks the walk. They do so much with so little, and always with the primary focus of changing people's lives. I look forward to seeing their influence grow, and with it their capacity to effectively fight this modern day slavery.
TSW has opened my eyes to an epidemic that is out of control but no one wants to discuss, human trafficking. It is just too much for most to fathom, including myself several years ago. It wasn't until I met Jeanne and other like-minded people (staff and board) that I realized that this is an issue that is local, and we CAN do something to help. The things that the TSW staff and volunteers do for the women that are in the program is amazing and commendable. TSW provides many ways to enrich and empower the person while moving them towards a place of peace and self-sufficiency. This is an organization worth supporting. This is a cause worth advocating for and discussing. Just imagine for one second that one of these children in slavery is your daughter, granddaughter, sister or niece. That horrified feeling is how the women imprisoned in this practice feel every minute of every day. And many will never know peace.
Lives are saved here. Literally. This is a place of restoration, healing, new beginnings, fresh starts, learning, growing, enjoying, delighting, embracing, accepting, and HARD WORK. A genuine place. An authentic organization, truly seeking healing for women who have been victimized. The approach is holistic and individualized. There is necessary structure, a needed component for this type of work. The staff go above and beyond to meet needs and provide exceptional service. You can see in the residents demeanor, the safety and empowerment they feel here. This place is incredible and I am humbled and grateful to be a small part in this great work.
I love volunteering at TSW. Everyone is loving and giving. And it is always a blessing to see the residence grow right in front of your eyes.
I've been involved with The Samaritan Women since 2009 and I'm very grateful for all that they are doing in Baltimore and in the US. Their work with survivors of human trafficking is unparalleled. In many ways they are the model for how to work alongside survivors in a healing, faith-based environment. I have always been impressed with the variety of ways that volunteers can plug in at TSW, farming, building, working with people, administrative work... they utilize volunteers of all passions!
I have never seen such a Wonderful program of restoration of what the locusts have taken.....
I am looking forward to climbing on board to be apart of this Wonderful Program.
My children and I volunteered at TSW last weekend though a community outreach event sponsored by my employer. It was a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to teach my boys about giving back. TSW is doing great work to help these women get their lives back.
The Samaritan Women is a beautiful place that helps survivors of human trafficking get back on track through their long-term rehabilitation program. They help enrich Baltimore and teach volunteers about human trafficking happening in the United States. I started volunteering their in May 2012 and continue to go back when I can to visit my friends I've made there and help out on the farm. We need more organization like TSW to provide healing for victims of this awful crime and the help share their stories of hope and redemption made possible through our lord Jesus. Definitely visit TSW and get involved in their work. Believe me, it will change your life
My family and I volunteered here with the Baltimore Frassati fellowship at their annual "Freedom BBQ" fundraiser. It was a very fun and meaningful experience. I was very impressed by the staff and residents and the event as a whole. I hope to volunteer here more in the future.
Our high school students became acquainted w/Samaritan Women through service projects. Their experience w/TSW helped shape their world and life views as christian young men. Thank you, TSW!
Where do I begin to describe my heart for TSW? As an individual, I was referred to volunteer at TSW by my sister and have since volunteered multiple times with various groups of people. TSW truly values their volunteers and helps them see the bigger picture...you're not just pulling weeds, you're showing the residents that you care about them and want their living space to be nice. As a working professional, TSW has been a great place to bring a group of coworkers to volunteer as there are many tangible ways to engage participants and bring awareness to human trafficking in our country.
I have found that participating in the healing of others brings healing to myself, too.
I didn't know much about this organization upon visiting, but after witnessing some of the resident women and their talents during a recent event I am most impressed. Each occupant and staff member took their time to speak with you and helped you to understand why their organization has found so much success over the past few years.
Though sometimes it may be difficult to see ALL of progress being made with the residents with one's own eyes, surely the hard work and diligent labor of the organization can be witnessed first-hand in the care and restoration of the building that the organization now inhabits. Over the years I have watched the house transform from an abandoned and boarded up building in Baltimore City to a mansion restored to its original charm.
Surely an organization that puts so much care into its residence, is unquestionably committed to the success of its residents!
As a college service learning practitioner, I work with over a hundred non-profit organizations each year and routinely engage students in volunteer service activities. TSW is one of our favorite partners. They not only provide meaningful volunteer opportunities to our students, they do an excellent job educating our students about critical issues facing our community. They dedication and work on human trafficking and urban food access is truly remarkable.
I was looking for a place to volunteer and I heard from a friend about TSW. I didn't know what to expect when signing up, but it far exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and warm and are so happy to have volunteers. What makes TSW so special to me is that though you may not interact with any of the residents, they know you are there and they feel so loved that volunteers show up to work on their farm. It is a place that is definitely making a difference. Not only in the lives of the women there, but in the volunteers too. It's a great place for families and people of all ages to make a huge difference. Every time I have a chance to go to TSW I'm there!
Our company has been a regular support of TSW for the past few years and it's amazing to see the work that is being done there. I don't think you'd find another group as passionate about their calling as you have The Samaritan Women. It's great to see them making a difference and truly challenge the lives of the ladies that are in their care.
I started volunteering at The Samaritan Women for a service learning project for college. At first when I started volunteering I didn't know what to expect because this was something I never really done but, after my first day of volunteering I fell in love with the place and it broke my heart hearing some of information about human trafficking. Even after the project for school I still continue to go and volunteer at The Samaritan Women because I love the fact that I get to help in some sort of way to give women hope and to show them that there are people out there who care about them. This place has in a way help me prepare myself getting myself ready to go into the field of criminal justice because even though I would be enforcing laws I know that there are organizations like The Samaritan Women out there to help women get back to feeling loved and wanted again when they think they are not.
The Samaritan Women is changing lives in Baltimore. We have had the privilege of volunteering with the organization since early on in it's inception. We love the staff and pray for the women that they impact. TSW stands apart as a facility of high integrity to the values that they espouse. I hope to continue to be an asset in their mission for many years to come.

The Samaritan Women is amazing non-profit that is actually changing lives in Baltimore. This place doesn't stop expanding. The amazing staff and board never says 'it's enough.' God bless you! We love you!
I have watched this organization on the outside for the past two years provide its heart and soul to specifically make a difference in the lives of a dozen or so women who have been victimized in the human trafficking environment and looking to rehabilitate their lives, while generally trying to provide more visibility into how to curtail/eliminate this multi-billion dollar global dilemma of sex trafficking that is so under the general public's radar screen at this point. The cause is led by an unbelievably selfless visionary by the name of Jeanne Allert, who has donated money, property and her unbelievable energy to this cause, a Board comprised of individuals who have immersed themselves into improving the organization and its strategic direction, and an underpaid, yet incredibly skilled and motivated by the cause staff that goes well beyond the norm to provide an environment of love and skill-building for the residents who are recovering to get their lives back to "normalcy" and productivity, while trying at the same time to build the infrastructure necessary to ensure the future of The Samaritan Women through enhancing visibility of this problem and fundraising. The organization also has built a working farm on the site of the residence and sponsors a monthly "Veranda Dinner' where a local, respected chef puts together a meal for potential donors, partially sourced from items on the local farm, with direct interaction with the recovering residents to hear their compelling stories and understand first-hand the incredible benefits that are being provided by The Samaritan Women organization. This is an organization that is doing incredible things that benefit the entire society, focused on one recovering resident at a time, that needs and deserves more visibility and funding to perpetuate its mission and further its outreach and impact over time.
I like tsw because it is a family style recovery center that allows me to be myself and heal and grow at my own pace. The Samaritan Women is set apart because of its unique approach to recovery. Also my case manager is a beacon of sunshine. -P.J.
I have truly enjoyed my time here at The Samaritan Women. In the last 8 months I have had the privilege to create long-lasting friendships with both staff as well as residents. To me, all these people are more like family. I LOVE THEM ALL and I am honored to know such audacious people of God. They have supported me throughout my recovery and for that I am forever grateful. Shout out to Ms. Jeanne,Ms. Patty, Mr. McKenna, and Mr Fichman! I Love you all. ~SONG~
Its the only place I have been able to feel comfortable enough to take my recovery seriously. This is the first program to help me find my real issues, and to heal without trying to medicate or sedate myself. Since being here at TSW I’ve been able to reunite with my family and build long-lasting healthy friendships. I’m very grateful for The Samaritan Women and without them I don’t know if I would of made it. -Button
There is a lot of freedom like freedom of speech. I don’t feel like I’m being controlled. You can really feel the love. If you put the effort towards your healing and want it, its worth every opportunity.

TSW is a wonderful organization where lives are being impacted. We have many new experience. Its a place where you can started to find out who you are and what you want for your life. When the words TSW comes to mind, I hear ringing words like refuge, hope, stability,Christ, opportunity and another chance. Its here at The Samaritan Women where women come face to face with their deep-rooted pain and the symptoms that was used to cover it up. Its a place where healing begins. Its also a place where your true self dreams and purpose is discovered; and the reason for living is uncovered. Its a place that showed me freedom in a new way.

I was a Social Work intern at The Samaritan Women (TSW) for three semesters and it was such a wonderful experience. The staff at TSW are truly committed and go above and beyond to serve the community. This is more than a job for staff- serving others is a way of life for them. Every day at my internship, I learned something new and was truly inspired. I would recommend TSW for anyone who wants to volunteer and make a difference in their community!
We know from personal experience that TSW saves lives. Having dealt with other rehab facilities across the country, it is apparent that TSW is not a "business", but a place where all human life is considered valuable. The level of care from all of the volunteers, staff, and Jeanne is comprehensive, caring, and compassionate. They stand by the philosophy that every human life is sacred and has the right to be respected and protected. We are so grateful for this program. TSW has saved our daughter's life!
I first heard about TSW from my church through a service project, it at was long before the campus was able to house residents.
I remember going into the houses and wondering if the entire building was going to come crashing down on our heads while we tried to clean them out.
Now years later I still volunteer when I can and not only with my church. I have witnessed an ARMY of volunteers transform the property into the awesome rehabilitation center for women that it is today.
The property itself is proof that God can redeem, restore and renew anything and that is exactly what is going on in the lives of the women that live at TSW.
This is an amazing organization, with a great focus, and a team that has a drive like no other. Their passion, dedication and hard work for their mission is contagious!
Many organizations have the feeling of a business. At Samaritan Women everyone is treated as family. This means that the people (clients, workers, volunteers, visitors) are valued. Their value is does not rest in the fact that is proper etiquette to put on your best face but because they are people, God's children. Samaritan Women exists because all people are important.
I remember hearing Jean speak at Cherish The Child, feeling so scared for our young girls as she explained the statistics and problems facing victims. I have since met employees and board members as well as volunteers - all are passionate and professional in their work and mission. I loved hearing recently about their broadening options for care and recovery. A very worthy nonprofit organization!!!
I started volunteering at The Samaritan Women through my company last fall and have been coming back pretty much every week since then. When I arrived with my company, we were put to work on the farm, cleaning up the grounds and harvesting in the fields. It was amazingly liberating and freeing work and excellently organized experience. My co-workers regularly ask me when we are going to go back.
I continued to volunteer with the farm when I had the opportunity to begin working in the residence with the ladies. I began doing overnights and seeing them regularly once a week. It's been a fantastic experience seeing them as they grow and work through their personal change. Jeanne and the other staff are warm, compassionate but very candid and no nonsense with the ladies that come in to the house. It's like a huge family that talks and learns and goes through the ups and downs of life. I've learned so much coming in to this environment and have been able to form real relationships with the women and others in my life.
Jeanne invited me to join the ladies for a conference that I thought was linked to victims of human trafficking but was actually a Women of Faith conference. My oversight Mind you, I haven't stepped in a church (outside of funerals) since I was 7 and haven't been particularly religious. Even when I was volunteering The Samaritan Women never once pressured me to worship or practice. They utilize faith as a pillar for guidance, not use religion as a means to push an agenda which was so different from any other experience that I've ever had.
When I went to the conference, it was the first time I have really experienced true love and community worshiping God. It was a brief epiphany but Jeanne and the other staff and residents at TSW have been incredibly supportive in my exploration of my faith, providing me with reading materials, inviting me to worship with them and then inviting me to bible study with them.
I cannot thank Samaritan Women enough for their kindness, support, wisdom and guidance through this experience. I came in to help them and they ended up helping me.

Our Father/Son group at LifePoint Church volunteered on a Saturday this Spring to remove debris, leaves and weeds from the grounds. We learned more about the mission from a presentation prior to us getting started that gave us a more detailed understanding of the day to day operation and what motivates the staff. I had a chance to meet the staff prior to our work day and was blown away by their desire to serve women who have been trafficked.

I am fortunate to have been involved at The Samaritan Women since early in its history. The quality and consistency of care from Executive Director, Jeanne Allert, and her staff is nothing short of amazing. They go above and beyond the call in servicing those woman who are entrusted to their care. A truly special place of healing. It's an honor to be a part on this ministry.
I came across Samaritan Women shortly after its inception about 5 years ago. Since then I've worked with its leaders in various ways, from recruiting donors of paving materials and signs, to making connections at the VA, to selecting the prime HVAC renovation contractor, to working with outside CPAs for the first audits, based on my own vocation as a CPA/CFO -- to cutting the grass. Members of my church have actively worked on fundraising, and farm and renovation projects.
This charity is one of the most pure and cost-efficient I have encountered in my career. The facilities are unique, and the outpouring of well-deployed volunteers is extraordinary. The residence, the farm, and the message address acute needs of our times.
Three things you should know about "TSW"--
Huge army of volunteers, whatever your skill, they can use it! I am helping with corporate donations
Inspiring site-- 23 acres right nearby where 695 meets 144 -- big urban farm
The staff is singularly focused on helping victims of human trafficking, and very open to new ideas and helpers.
TSW is a terrific, now 6-year old story of TRANSFORMATION. Most important, the Residence and its Staff are helping women who are victims of sex trafficking restore their lives. And on 23 acres, they've restored the land (now has a farm, and soon also a 300-seat Amphitheater) and the property (2 buildings, 2 greenhouses).
If you are looking for a place where your time, prayers or donations will fly straight to the hurting and with maximum impact and efficiency, www.thesamaritanwomen.org is it.
When I first started volunteering at TSW, I had no idea how much my life would be completely changed by their work. From the farm to the residence, and their work with survivors, I love every second that I spend here. The staff are intelligent and friendly, receptive to criticisms, and very approachable about new groups and events. Everyone should be so lucky to have a volunteer organization like this one in their life.
I have been able to volunteer a couple of times of the past couple years or so. Majority of my time volunteering has been spent helping TSW do yard work, building retaining walls, or basic up keep around the property. It was extremely rewarding volunteering in this manner in order to help them reach their goals. I highly recommend it.
I have volunteered at this wonderful organization for several years and am amazed at how far it has come in such a short time. I first learned about TSW through my church and fell in love with its values, beliefs, and dedication to serving a marginalized population that is often forgotten in society. Later, I signed up to serve at TSW through a service learning program at UMBC for a semester. I always enjoyed volunteering at TSW and was encouraged by the passion that I saw in all TSW staff.
TSW is a blessing to the community and I am sure that it will continue to be successful as more members come through its doors.
I have been able to volunteer at Samaritan Women several times over the last couple of years. Each time has been a great experience. It is clear that the leaders of the non profit are dedicated and committed to their mission and love what they do. They care highly about connecting with the community and helping others. I've seen hundreds, if not thousands of people volunteers there, most of whom come back multiple times.

TSW has been a favorite service opportunity of mine for several years. I've helped demolish furniture, strip and repaint walls, and even used the space for my sweet sixteen a few years ago! Now, seeing our efforts being utilized to provide women with a second chance at an education and a healthy environment to express themselves through the gifts God has given them, has surpassed any reward I could have anticipated. I have seen TSW nurture women within and without; not only is it a safe haven from crime, but also safe haven from spiritual warfare. Not only are the women staying at the house enriched, but when I go to TSW, I feel spiritually encouraged by their newly restored hope and constant singing and rejoicing together to our Savior!
