Programs: I. The subtle energy research project is a fundamental scientific research project to detect and measure the presence of putative subtle energies associated with biofield practitioners, energy healers, the intention to heal, and laying on of hands. We hypothesize that these energies, if present, are not conventional energies, and may require new instrumentation, or that they may be extremely low level electromagnetic energy. In 2014, we developed and built a customized array of detectors, including environmental, putative subtle energy, and some that monitor the physiology, and initiated research using this array. Principal investigators are harry jabs, m. S. , physicist/engineer, and beverly rubik, ph. D. , biophysicist. This basic science investigation is ongoing and continues in 2015.
ii. Project lightbeam is a clinical research project to investigate if visible light stimulation of diabetic subjects who report dysregulated blood glucose will improve their blood sugar regulation, among other physiological parameters. This project is still being planned at this time and has 3 principal investigators: martha howard, m. D. , alice nixon, ma (of light and sound healing, inc. ), and beverly rubik, ph. D. The project will be submitted for irb (institutional review board) approval in early 2015. We plan to conduct the study in 2015-6.
iii. The cell phone radiation exposure study was funded by the weston a. Price foundation of washington, d. C. We conducted a small pilot study on the effects of holding and using a smart phone on the blood of 10 human subjects. The study was designed and completed by beverly rubik, ph. D. , and a report published in winter 2014-2015 in the journal, wise traditions in food, farming and the healing arts.
