Mission: Inner Harbour serves nearly 1,000 children and adolescents and almost 1,300 youth and families each year through our residential and community-based services. Inner Harbour is a 501(c)(3) organization that is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO), the Association for Experiential Education (AEE), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Our Douglasville, Georgia facility is situated on 1,200 acres allowing for experiential therapies such as wilderness experiences (camping, canoeing, caving, hiking), art therapy, ropes course, West African drumming and dance, yoga, animal-assisted therapy and equine therapy.
Programs: Our programs and services include: -Intensive residential and outdoor treatment programs for children, pre-adolescents and adolescents with severe behavioral impairment and/or cognitive disabilities. -Management of Angela?s House, an internationally known safe house for sexually exploited teenage girls, along with the only Regional Assessment Center for commercially sexually exploited minors. -Inner Harbour Group Homes: The Ranch for adolescent males and The Gardens for adolescent females; and the Douglas County Family Assessment Center, an emergency shelter for children and adolescents serving Douglasville and its surrounding area. -Our FOCUS and Kinunka programs, residential and outdoor treatment for adolescent males with sexual behavior disorders and/or a history of sexual perpetration; our EXCEL Leadership Academy, an alternative to incarceration for adolescent males with juvenile delinquency issues. -A Transitional Living Coaching (TLC) Program offering placement assistance and vocational and life skills. -Our Families in Transition (FIT) Program, a preventative community-based counseling program for children and families, including sessions offered in Spanish. -Cutting-edge Neuropsychiatric Services (NPS), which uses neurofeedback and QEEGs to help ?retrain? the brain in conjunction with medication or as an alternative to pharmacological approaches for the treatment of attention deficit disorder (ADHD), depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD), substance abuse and other problems presented by the children we serve.
