I am a mentor for this program and it has been incredible experience for me. Whenever you join a nonprofit, you never know what to expect. But this has exceeded my expectations. I love my little brother Jordan and his brother Julian and we’ve had great times together.
I can think of no more worthwhile charity than this. They help by finding our youth and our future to mentor and help them to see a different world than they know. I personally know someone who I love and adore be the man he is today because of this. I cannot say enough about this program.
Having been involved with various charities over the years, I find this charity to be extremely well run, very worthy and I’m always excited to read of the children in the program and where their lives are heading with the incredible aid from ICE. Brad and his team are always conducting the charity with the children’s needs remaining the focus. It’s an amazing story how Brad came to create this charity and I’m in awe of the amount of time he shares with the children and his impact on their lives.
After four years of donating and learning more each year, I look forward to more encouraging news of various children and how their lives are being enriched through ICE.
I have been a donor and contributor to ICE since it’s inception and as a still active hockey player at age 85 have had the pleasure of associating with its founder Brad Ericson both on and off the ice. As such I can’t think of a more worthy cause than providing a gateway to education through hockey for underprivileged kids.
The ICE program is such an amazing organization. Everything they do is for the benefit of the kids in their program. Not only do they help teach kids teamwork, learn a sport, and physical activity, they ensure they have the tools to succeed in school as well. The board members are all so involved, many of them coaching and mentoring some
Of the scholarship recipients as well.
This organization has put together a great fundraiser over the past couple years. It is such a good time, and it is great that it is for a great cause as well. The people that run this organization are first class. They have always gotten back to me pretty quickly when I have reached out in the past, and are really courteous when talking to them at the event.
This program doesn't only help kids in our community but it brings families together, the bond that I've seen among these student athletes and their parents is beyond awesome. Thank you Inner-City Education for bringing this to my community.
As a volunteer with Inner City Education, my experience is rewarding and educational. Rewarding in the sense of providing learning and skill development opportunities through education and sport. Educational in the sense of learning about the public’s needs and the requirements for thorough academic development through the program. I’m proud to be a part of such a great non-profit organization.
Amazing opportunity for kids in the area to not only learn and play hockey, but to have after school help as well. Parents are involved and welcomed here.
As an educator with 4 years of teaching experience in Chicago, a former swimming coach as well as someone that tries to keep in shape, I know that both myself and my former swimmers were in a much better place mentally after a good workout. For me personally, I'm able to think much more clearly and my stresses and anxieties seem to melt away when I'm getting regular exercise. I'm excited to see a program out there like this as Hockey is a really unique sport to get students involved in through a non-profit. It's extremely challenging physically which leads to greater confidence, and it's also a fantastic way to build a sense of community and feel part of a team - all of which are things everyone needs in order to feel grounded and be their best selves. Keep doing some awesome work!
I'm one of the three founders of ICE in Chicago and worked together with Brad Erickson in developing the various programs. I moved to California in 2008 and I'm thrilled to see the continuing success of ICE. Brad and many others have worked hard to help ice hockey oriented kids succeed in the sport, in school and in life. I've kept in touch with the organization and look forward to its future success.
Combining hockey with education is such a great concept! Brad and his team are dedicated to supporting kids to learn and grow, building and strengthening their skills in hockey, team work and education. I had the honor of being a part of this organization for a short time and if you are looking to support an organization, put this one at the top of your list.
Top notch local charity that combines my 3 favorite things: kids, hockey & education! Opportunities for kids should not be limited because of their zip code. I love that ICE gives kids a chance that otherwise wouldn't have one. The Seabrook ICE Bowl is by far the most fun & easily accessible sports-related fundraiser in Chicago. Nowhere else can you get up close & personal (so many autographs!) with Blackhawks players while giving back and playing bubble hockey, eating & bowling. Looking forward to what the future brings.
My daughter and I have attended a number of events to support Inner-City Education Program. We love seeing the kids there, able to enjoy the events and being celebrated. We see the work they do with them all year long and are always happy to support the amazing work they are doing!!
