Causes: Homeless & Housing, Low-Income & Subsidized Rental Housing
Mission: In response to God's call to Justice, the Inner City Christian Federation provides housing opportunities and services that encourage family responsibility and independence, thereby helping to build stable communities.
Programs: Iccf builds and renovates rental housing with an emphasis on residential management and resident dignity. The 132 rental units are provided at below market rates. In addition, programs are available to every rental resident to teach them skills toward becoming homeowners themselves. Families assume positions of responsibility in the operation of their rental communities through the tenant centered management program, and a social work team provides direct services and referrals.
iccf's home ownership preparation and education program (hope) offers an array of home ownership programs and services that enable families to become successful homeowners. Under the hope program, families go through a 2-part series called introduction to home ownership. From there, families can participate in a number of programs depending on what obstacles they face before they can become a homeowner. The program offers an array of services and assists over 900 families on the road to home ownership each year. Program participants have great success in reaching their housing goals, but the real results are in stronger families, safer children, revitalized neighborhoods and restored hope.
