Mission: As the state affiliate of the national association for the education of young children, inc. (naeyc), indiana aeyc is a statewide, nonprofit with over 1,900 independent members working with and on behalf of young children birth through age eight and their families. Indiana aeyc promotes and supports quality care and education and supports all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.
Programs: T. E. A. C. H. (teacher education and compensation helps) early childhood indiana project supports college scholarships for early childhood professionals (teachers, administrators, and family child care providers) working in early learning facilities. Scholarships support the obtainment of certificates, credentials, and degrees within indiana higher education institutions. The t. E. A. C. H. Early childhood indiana project supports increased knowledge, increased compensation and a commitment from the early childhood professional to continue working with young children.
the indiana accreditation project supports indiana's paths to quality (continuous quality improvement system) improving the quality of early learning facilities statewide. The indiana accreditation project provides financial support for early learning programs seeking national accreditation. The project provides onsite technical assistance through coaching to support the continuous quality improvement for young children and their families.
the indiana non formal child development associate (cda) project provides training hours statewide to support the successful credentialing of early learning professionals. The indiana non formal cda project provides support through training, professional development advising and portfolio development to successfully obtain the child development associate credential through the national council of professional recognition.
indiana aeyc provides membership benefits through professional development at the state and local chapter level, national accreditation recognition and support, public policy and research services for early learning professionals working with and on behalf of young children, birth through age eight and their families. Indiana aeyc sponsors the indiana early childhood conference annually with over 3,700 early learning professionals. Indiana aeyc sponsors regional early childhood professional development and membership events/conferences for members and those working with young children to increase the quality of care and education.
