Mission: The independent living council of wisconsin, inc. Promotes self-determination and full inclusion of people with disabilities in wisconsin through collaboration with other stakeholders, education and advocacy for policies, resources, practices and attitudes that support independent living and promotion and support for independent living philosophy and services to maximize the leadership, empowerment and productivity of individuals with disabilities in order that each will live, work and participate in their community of choice.
Programs: Ilcw worked with state agencies, centers for independent living, and other stakeholders to develop a state plan amendment ensuring that funding continues as necessitated by legislative action. Ilcw evaluated services from 8 centers for policy-makers and the public. Ilcw provided training for the national network on services for people with psychiatric disabilities.
