Causes: Developmentally Disabled Centers, Disabilities, Human Services
Mission: Independent industries seeks to promote economic self-sufficiency and social integration for people with disabilities or other disadvantages through supported employment, employee development, comprehensive evaluation, and rehabilitation services. It accomplishes this in large part by operating a light manufacturing production facility and day rehabilitation program while also receiving beneficial support services provided by goodwill industries of kentucky, inc.
Programs: Independent industries provides people with severe disabilities access to comprehensive community habilitation programming services at either its light manufacturing facility or its on-site health and wellness facility. These training and support services are centered around either work or lifestyle enrichment programming depending on a person's individual needs. As much as $224,557 in wages was earned by some of the 71 persons served by the program in fy 2014. These achievements were accomplished in part thanks to support services provided by goodwill industries of kentucky, inc.
