In The Pink is Family to me. They not only comforted my mother before she passed in 2011, but they prepared me for my journey in 2015. They are the perfect resource and support for Breast Cancer Survivors and families.
In The Pink, Jacksonville, Florida
Is a unique organization that serves women in Florida who are cancer survivors. I work with In the Pink as a representative of post-breast cancer surgery products. They carry my products and often give me timely feedback on how well our products serve their customers and how we can improve future products. It has been a pleasure to see the sensitive, caring way that the entire In The Pink Team serves women in need. The charming, homey atmosphere of their locations only adds to the good feeling you have the minute you walk through the doors.
Their non-profit status allows them to serve all women no matter what her circumstances. My hat is off to In the Pink, a worthy non-profit organization serving women in need.
In The Pink is a unique service provided by caring people. I discovered In The Pink while I was going through breast cancer. The shop has supplies you never knew you needed and the staff immediately become friends. Treatments, etc., can be confusing and the folks at In The Pink are there to help by sharing their expertise, their own experiences or just listening. And since there IS life after cancer, Jeri and her husband, Marty, established the Jacksonville Dragon Boat Club. Dragon boating made me realize that you are not just someone who had cancer but a SURVIVOR in the truest sense of the word. You are able to participate and will meet the most amazing people. I am so sorry if you or someone you know needs this type of service, but, if you do, visit In The Pink for the caring and professional assistance in this difficult time.
Jeri and her team are amazing. I have served with her for several years now helping raise awareness and still amazed by the testimonies of the lives In the Pink have touched. I have referred several women facing cancer questions to them and they have all been more than happy with how they were treated. The calls of thanks I have received are heartwarming. If you have questions you NEED to go speak with them. They will hold your hand through the entire process.
In the Pink is a nonprofit that helps women living with cancer in our local community. There is a lot of people out there raising money to help find a cure for cancer but not very many who are helping women cope with cancer. When you walk into their "store" you feel at home. The ladies there really understand what these women are going through and offer many services to help them feel comfortable as they go through this life change. It is awesome to know that they are helping women and their families through such a difficult time.
In The Pink is a one of kind store at Jax Beach & downtown Jacksonville, Fl that caters to cancer survivors. When diagnosed with cancer, you fear for your life & don't know where to source things that you need while recovering. Some of the items include after surgery garments, prosthetics, wigs & professional fitting for Lymphedema sleeves & other garments. Speciality clothing & lingerie is also available. Jeri Millard continues supporting survivors by opening her shop to weekly free yoga classes where the participants become close friends & help each other during questionable times. In the Pink is a one of a kind shop & an asset to the greater Jacksonville area. Love this store!!❤
I've known the folks at In the Pink for years. They are great people and they provide our community an invaluable service. Keep up the great work!
The heart of In the Pink is helping women through a difficult time. They are compassionate and have created a comfortable environment to spend time and be taken care of. They know just what a woman going through breast cancer needs and have the products to make women feel pretty and whole.
This organization is fabulous! They have helped so many men, women and children in our community. We are lucky to have them! They sure know how to do things right when it comes to helping cancer patients.
Our experience with In the Pink is seeing Jeri Millard's incredible servant heart reaching many women and men that battle cancer of all types. Her boutique offers products and services to help them along their journey of this horrific disease. She truly had a vision derived from her own personal experience that touches the lives of many in an incredible way. WE LOVE IN THE PINK!! The Jacksonville Jaguars Believe and Support this mission.
As a part time volunteer organizer of charitable events, I have encountered national and local charities of many stripes. In the Pink is a local charity based principally in Jacksonville, Florida providing physical and emotional support for cancer victims; clothing, prosthetics, counselilng, yoga, literature, references to professionals and much more with an unequalled compassionate tenor. Jeri Millard, the founder and manager of two facilities to provide such services, is a cancer survivor and dedicated manager of such services. In the Pink revenue to expense and contribution to services is exceptional for any charity indicating frugal, focused management of resources.
MY NAME IS CHRISTI WICKER AND THE REASON WHY I LOVE THIS GROUP IS THEY HAVE A SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AND SELFLESSNESS THAT IS UNMATCHED BY ANY OTHER GROUP I HAVE SEEN IN JACKSONVILLE. THE SPIRIT OF PAYING IT FOWARD JUST CONTINUES TO GROW WHEN YOU ARE AROUND THEM. SIMPLY PUT JUST GOOD PEOPLE REACHING OUT TO OTHERS THAT OTHERWISE WOULD NOT FEEL SO SUPPORTED. THANKS SO MUCH IN THE PINK!!!!
Great company to work with! I have worked with Jeri a few times now, for personal and business, and she is a great person to work with.
when I was going though breast cancer ! there was nothing or anybody to really help you ! I could not even find a pink ribbon because it was not October ! In The Pink opened right at the end of my treatment Jeri is awesome, she is there for everybody no matter what you need or if you have insurance or not the staff at in the pink are also amazing ! Jeri has given so much to this community I go to yoga at in the pink if I had to pay I would not be going , Jeri has shown us there is life after cancer !Dragon boating who would think that breast cancer ladies would be padding and making us stronger ! Jeri
thank you Dollie Lim
I am a breast cancer survivor. I first met Jeri and the wonderful folks at In The Pink when I was looking for a wig. Jeri does not allow you to feel sorry for yourself, which is essential when you are going thru a health issue of this magnitude. Getting the diagnosis of cancer initially makes you feel isolated and the folks at In The Pink help you get past that. This year, I joined the dragon boat teams that Jeri formed to help survivors realize they can do something physical. After all of the treatments and surgeries, you feel fragile. Getting in a dragon boat and keeping up with the other paddlers helps you get back into life. Also, my husband passed away in July. He was my best friend and my true soul-mate. All the friends I have made thru In The Pink have been a God-send. They are helping me stay involved in life as I navigate this difficult new normal. In The Pink not only helps while you are going thru the cancer. They help you with life after cancer. Jeri has so much energy and love for others despite her own health issues that you feel like a slacker if you don't do something to pay that forward by helping someone else.
I have known Jeri for 27 years, and a more caring person does not exist. Her vision of helping others that have and/or are suffering as she has in her personal life is what makes this charity real. For Jeri, it's personal... And you will sense it the moment you walk in the door.
I heard about In The Pink Boutique from my daughter. I visited them and was just amazed with all the wonderful work they do. I pray every day that a cure is found but am so glad that people have a place like In the Pink to go to. They genuinely care about everyone that walks through their doors.
I have been a client, a donor, and a volunteer for this charity. In The Pink was instrumental in helping me adapt to life after my mastectomy in 2010. They made getting fitted for prosthetics and garments a comfortable experience during a stressful time. Their true compassion for the affected and passion for the cause is inspiring. Recently I helped with and participated in the Inaugural Jacksonville Dragon Boat Festival which was organized to benefit In The Pink. Jeri and Sallie and all at In The Pink worked very hard to bring this event to Jacksonville and make it a success while not losing sight of their clients.
I recenly met Jeri and learned of In the Pink when she reached out for volunteer support for the Jacksonville Dragon Boat Festival. I was so impressed with both Jeri & her organization I immediately wanted to be more involved, in addition to providing volunteer support we decided to be a corporate sponsor for the event and lead a team to participate in the race. It was an exceptional experience for everyone involved and we are looking for ways to continue the relationship all year long!
We've worked with In the Pink many times whether it was interviewing Jeri or having someone from our team go to her boutique to shave her head as she was going through chemo. Jeri is AMAZING, and we're so happy to have her on board with shubeez as a BEAT CANCER beneficiary for October 2013! http://shop.shubeez.com/
There are no words to describe how I feel about In The Pink. I met the owner Jeri Millard about a month before she opened the shop in 2009. When I heard the story of her dream of opening this special boutique for women living with cancer and learning she was a cancer survivor, I was overwhelmed by her strength and determination. Then one month later my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer and left us 7 months later. Jeri continued to follow up with me during the months of caring for my mother. In The Pink is the whole package - a safe place for women to come even when they just need someone to listen to them. As a non-profit, every woman is able to have what she needs to help her through the scariest time of her life. The boutique is located in a 1920's beach cottage and the atmosphere is comforting and accepting. Women can come to get whatever they need - clothing, skin care products, mastectomy garments and prosthetics, wigs and most importantly positive support. In The Pink also offers free yoga, informative seminars and research materials to clients, as well as assistance filing insurance for items covered. Two months after my mother passed away, they had gotten so busy that I was invited to go to work there for many months, which helped in my own personal grieving experience. I am lucky to be able to volunteer now when needed and In The Pink and the wonderful employees are part of my life and are wonderful friends. The clients love to come there and always have such wonderful things to say about In The Pink. Many have said they have never seen a place like it and how much it is needed. Most importantly, they feel comfort and acceptance and always know they have a place to come when times are tough. I felt this way the moment I walked in the door myself and my wish would be that every woman would be able to have access to a place like this, no matter where they live. We are so very fortunate to have In The Pink Boutique here in Jacksonville, and are able to assist the women here as well as those that come from out of town. In The Pink has partnered with the local hospitals who refer their patients, so every woman can take advantage of this wonderful, positive environment and experience.
I've worked Jeri Millard from In The Pink. She is dedicated to helping those in need of wigs. She has a true passion to do what is right, and is filling a much needed service in her area.
In the Pink serves a vital role in the greater Jacksonville area by helping women and children with cancer in their greatest time of need. They provide education, support, supplies, care, comfort and cancer related items not found at the mall or on the internet. The owner of this non-profit is a two time cancer survivor herself and is well known in the breast cancer community.
I have volunteered at many events for this organization and they are wonderful at this place! Very warm and caring people. Everyone on the staff has been touched by cancer so they have a genuine understanding of what their clients are experiencing.
I have the privilege of working at in the pink. It can be a hard job at times, but the hope that is felt there far out weighs any sadness, etc. The emotional and physical support that In The Pink offers women who are or have experienced any type of Cancer is like none other. It is a wonderfully positive, warm and uplifting place to be. One of the things that makes In the Pink so special is that whether or not a woman has Insurance or money, everyone is treated the same. All women deserve to feel as good as they can during this often horrible time. In the Pink allows this to happen by offering new products to women, despite your financial status or Insurance status. am so PROUD of what I do!
I have been in In the Pink on several occasions and have been impressed each and every time with the caring attitude of the employees towards their clients. In the Pink offers many services and products you don't find in other places and because it specializes in helping women in need it offers a level of comfort that instills confidence in women who are going through a very difficult time of their life. Kudos to In the Pink!!
A complete service of safety and privacy for those recovering from cancer. Jeri is honest, knowledgeable, kind and individualizes for each clients needs.
Wonderful place, wonderful staff......
In The Pink came to my attention in the summer of 2010 through a mutual friend. I visited the store to look around and speak with the owner, Jeri. I was amazed at the work that is done there. Unfortunately, cancer has been a part of life for my family for about 30 years now, beginning with my great-Grandmother's diagnosis of breast cancer in the 70's, continuing on with both of my grandmothers, my mother, step-mother, and grandfather. When my mom was going through her treatments ten years ago, there was no such thing as In The Pink, or any other stores like it. The fact that women can go to a store and get so many of the things she needs all under one roof is amazing to me. Patients can file with their insurance for wigs, post-surgical garments, lymphedema and comprssion garments, post-mastectomy bras, and prothesis.
This shop is amazing. Jeri and her staff are so compationate and caring. There is a calm welcoming feel to the shop. I recommend the shop to people regularly.
My sister taught yoga here for those suffering with Breast Cancer at some point. This is a place where you can feel completely comfortable in your illness. I love the Salon, Christina to part in a shaving party and it offered support and strength.
I volunteer on a weekly basis at In the Pink. They do amazing work! You will not find a more kind, caring staff of people that help women, men and children with all types of cancer. They help them by providing wigs, breast prosthesis, scarves, yoga, emotional support and by guiding them to resources throughout the community. This is a truly wonderful organization that I am proud to be a part of.
You have experience "In the Pink" it will change your life forever if you are a survivor, a family member, a friend or just needing advice this is the place for you. Jeri Millard and her staff have made such a difference in this community with their collective strengh and commitment like non other I have been involved in. If I need a spirtual lift this is the place to go. Jeri has made a permanent difference in my life and I will forever be indebted. Janey Constable
As a business attorney, I advise companies in the fields of legal compliance and corporate strategy on a daily basis.
Jeri Millard has broken barriers about the conventional non-profit organization, and redefined the concept of a boutique. With the goal of helping people living with cancer, by providing support, education, and resources, In The Pink is an irreplaceable asset in our community.
As a young woman with inflammatory breast cancer, I can't say enough great things about this place. I had my head shaving party (yes, we made it a party!) there, picked out my wig, picked out my prostectics and have just learned how to live life with cancer.
You get such personal service and if you're looking for funny cancer shirts, great hats and scarves, a huge selection of wigs and any other item a women with cancer would need...go to In the Pink!!!
As a frightened breast cancer patient I received support, supplies and smiling reassuring faces from the staff at In The Pink. I frequently met many other survivors in the friendly boutique and they shared their experiences which helped guide me through every aspect of my cancer journey. In The Pink lifted my spirits when I needed it most. They provided services when I needed my hair shaved, they offered informative classes for survivors as well as free yoga classes. They have all the special items needed for cancer survivors at one stop shopping including scarves, wigs, cosmetics and clothing designed for cancer patients. Initially I was embarrassed with my diagnosis, but through meeting others at In The Pink I accepted my new self and feel comfortable emotionally and physically. I now share my experiences with others and thank the owners and staff of In The Pink for everything they did to help me and most especially all the other cancer survivors they continue to help.
