In Harmony with Nature is an amazing sanctuary and each and every staff member and volunteer cares deeply for the animals they care for. The grounds are well cared for and the animals enjoy treats like toys and enrichment boxes. It's always amazing seeing them interact.
It’s a fantastic facility where the animals are able to live their lives peacefully & the volunteers have lots of opportunities to work & learn.
In Harmony With Nature animal haven is a genuinely kind & caring place, for both the animals & the volunteers!
I love coming every week to help care for these amazing animals ! I love the mission that IHWN stands for and practices. All of our animals will now get the love and attention that they deserve, for the rest of their lives. I am so glad to be a part of this.
I started volunteering at ihwn several years ago. On my first day I adopted a husky and two weeks later I adopted another both from the rescue. When our director started the rescue we were the only wolf dog rescue in central Florida. We have rescued so many wolf dogs and wolves over the years who would gave otherwise been euthanized. We strive to have a peaceful beautiful place where wolves, dogs, tortoises, and other wildlife can live harmony with their humans that take care of them. In Harmony is that place. I am proud to be a part of this amazing rescue.
I have been truly blessed to be a part of the wonderful place called In Harmony. Our sanctuary is a place that takes in and cares for all sorts of animals from wolf dogs, domestic dogs, cats, birds, tortoises and even pigs. Please visit our page to see what our animals and people are doing. Thanks
Very committed to their animals! Its not just that their heart is in the right place, but they strategize their care for the animals in a way that always puts the animal and their quality of life above everything else. I’m constantly impressed with how much thought, effort, and collaboration goes into making this place a truly amazing sanctuary!
Beautiful sanctuary and dedicated staff. Definitely passionate
I was searching for a way to give back to the community, with a unique experience. I found this small, local haven, with a speciality in exotic animals- primarily wolves. I have to say the people are friendly, the animals are amazing, and it's a positive, one-of-a-kind place. I definitely made the right choice by volunteering with them.
Wonderful place that does wonderful things for a lot of animals in need. It’s an honor to help them so their thing.
A one of a kind, beautiful and well run shelter for wolves and wolf dogs. Built on respect and care for their animals and saving the abandoned, neglected and abused.
This organization is truly amazing and inspirational. Kim Kapes, the founder and director, is incredibly knowledgeable about the behavior of animals, specifically wolves, wolf hybrids, and dogs. The way she and all of the volunteers work, puts out a great atmosphere for the animals living there, filled with plenty of enrichment and activity and safety. I have been volunteering my time there for a little over a year and I couldn’t be more proud to share this nonprofit with the greater Orlando area and world. They take the safety and care of the animals first and foremost which is truly awesome to see; always making sure each volunteer is well prepared before assisting in any way and that every enclosure is completely secure at all times. All the volunteers that I have worked with are so kind and care so much about the animals and people, always going above and beyond to make sure everything gets done around the property. As a nonprofit, fundraising is so extremely important and is always appreciated, so if you can’t find the time to volunteer maybe think about donating even just a couple dollars to help us keep the animals happy and the enclosures secure.
Wonderful and devoted people. I have a great time a couple years ago when I visit the sanctuary.
I've been a volunteer at IHWN for a little under 5 months and it's my absolute favorite place to be! The animals are happy, well cared for, and well-loved! The highlight of my week is getting to interact with my wolf & wolf-dog friends and talk with the other volunteers. Kim, the director, has a heart of gold and is such a hard worker. It's great to see how dedicated she is to ensuring the happiness of the animals. I hope to stay here as long as I possibly can!
What an amazing place. This wolf and wolfdog sanctuary (although they also have cats, a chicken and a couple of tortoises) functions through the donations of caring citizens and the work of volunteers. They live these animals and do whatever is necessary to make sure they live a good life. I drive over an hour to volunteer and love every minute that I am here!
Ive been to a few charity events hosted by In Harmony with Nature at orlando brewing and carmel. There I've met wonderful and passionate volunteers who truly care about the health and wellbeing of their animals.
IHWN is a wonderful rescue doing great work. I adopted an extremely shy dog from them, and because of the love and care they showed her and support they continued to lend after her adoption, Tjeajte adjusted quickly and smoothly to her forever home. Over a year later they continue to check in and see how she's doing and lend advice to help us meet her needs.
IHWN volunteers were so incredibly supportive when we adopted our boy Jake Blue Eye. They checked in with us frequently and answered any and all questions we had. We could not be happier to have worked with this organization and continue to stay in contact and support them. Jake is amazing and has become such a great addition to our family. IHWN volunteers and staff are truly angels!
We adopted our dog Jake Blue Eye from In Harmony with Nature and could not have asked for a more supportive and positive adoption experience. They gave us time to get to know Jake and see if he would be a good fit with our dog and our home. They worked with us for over a month on behavior and possible health issues with Jake. They also included us on events so we could get to know their organization better. It is very clear that their primary concern is for the animals they place and they want to make sure that they end up in a forever home with the best possible outcome.
As for Jake, he has been such a wonderful addition to our family. We could not have asked for a better experience adopting a senior pet. We are so thankful for IHWN and the joy they have given us!
In harmony has such a calm and welcoming environment and you can tell by how happy the animals are by the way they welcome you into their pack. It's not your normal animal sanctuary it's one that takes care of animals with special and specific needs. From blindness to wolfdogs that need a different kind of care from normal dogs. Its a lot of hard work taking care of the animals their pens and the land but so worth it when you make the special connection with all the animals. Especially when they give you a thank you with a very big and very wet kiss across your whole face.
Over the past few months I have had the privilege of volunteering at In Harmony With Nature Animal Haven. Kim (the director) and all of the other volunteers including myself have such a deep love and compassion for all of the animals there. This love and compassion translates into all the work that is done there. Kim's dedication to this sanctuary was demonstrated remarkably during Hurricane Irma. She was out at all hours of the night making sure all of the animals were safe. If any non profit deserves a spot on this list it is In Harmony With Nature.
When we start looking to adopt a new pet, we look and research a lot of places. In Harmony with Nature animal haven was the only one that we found that truly put the wellbeing of the animals above everything. In the couple times we went to to meet and interact with our prospect pets, the place was always peaceful and all the animals ( no mather the species ) were happy , relax and well taken care off. We end adopting two wonderful dogs that had become part of our family.
