Mission: Victory In Grace (VIG) exists to improve lives by helping people commit themselves to Jesus Christ through evangelism and humanitarian aid, with special emphasis on the United States, the people of India, the incarcerated in America, and the homeless men, women, and children of Chicago, Illinois.
VIG accomplishes this goal via personal counseling, preaching, support and maintenance of educational institutions, training programs, community assistance, humanitarian aid, church planting and church maintenance programs.
We also take advantage of several different media including television, radio, publishing, the Internet, and direct mail to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.
Victory In Grace was started in 1993 as an outreach of Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church, a non-denominational, evangelistic, independent Christian church originally started in Chicago in 1972, and now located in Lake Zurich, Illinois.
As the Senior Pastor of Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church and founder of Victory In Grace, Dr. James A. Scudder has had a deep concern for telling the world about Jesus Christ.
Programs: Victory In Grace includes the India Relief Project, the Fresh Start homeless ministry, Prison Outreach, print production, and radio and television broadcasts that emphasize the clear gospel and feature the verse by verse teaching of Dr. James A. Scudder.
The India Relief Project is a missionary program fully supported by Quentin Road Ministries, dedicated to improving lives in India by spreading the Gospel through the establishment of Christian churches and by humanitarian aid. In 2005-2006, VIG is doubling the impact of Solid Rock Theological Seminary in India.
Dr. James A. Scudder has had a deep concern for India beginning in childhood when he was told about his cousin, Aunt Ida Scudder, a family member that founded the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore, India. Many recognize the Christian Hospital as the premier medical facility in Asia today. Ida was the first female medical doctor dedicated to providing health care to the women of India. She was also part of a long line of Scudders who served as medical missionaries and evangelists for the past 200 years. Scudders have been involved with the needs of India ever since, with Dr. James Scudder's formal evangelistic and missionary programs dating back to 1993.
The homeless ministry, Fresh Start, helps homeless men, women and children from downtown Chicago get to church services every Sunday, in order for them to hear the Gospel. VIG feeds them, offers them wholesome recreation, encouragement, counseling, fellowship, and clothing.
Dr. Scudder has been involved with the homeless in Chicago since 1972 when he first started a church in Chicago, and has been providing aid in the current format for homeless men since March of 1999. Similar services for women and children started in August of this year.
Victory In Grace also operates a prison ministry, Prison Outreach, in several prisons. The Prison Outreach program offers inmates in the an opportunity to turn their lives around through personal counseling sessions, Bible studies, classroom training, and outside support programs. Our goal is to get the inmates to commit their lives to Jesus Christ, thereby reducing the likelihood of a return to the kind of lifestyle and behavior that got them into trouble in the first place.
Other ministries include the television program Victory In Grace with Dr. James A. Scudder, broadcast nationally on INSP, The Church Channel, SkyAngel and I-Life. This is one of only a few television ministries where the clear Gospel of Jesus Christ is shared during every broadcast along with sound, biblical teaching.
Our Victory in Grace radio ministry is broadcast across 8 smaller radio stations primarily in the central portion of the United States promoting the Gospel.
We publish a monthly magazine, Victory In Grace, which touches readers across the world with faith-building commentary and daily devotionals. Each issue Dr. Scudder and others encourage, inform, and inspire with articles that tackle life's tough issues. The popular Daily Reflections devotionals are provided for a daily quiet time with the Lord.
Finally, our web site and email services provide information and daily devotionals aimed at sharing the Gospel and encouraging Christians through sound Biblical teachings.
