From the first year I came to college, the In Arms Reach program has had a particular grip on me. Their amazing mission to invest in the lives of young children through academic tutoring, motivation, and support, has really made a difference. Seeing the joyous smiles on the children's faces when they get how to solve a math problem is especially rewarding. In Arms Reach has provided a medium for educational advancement outside of school, and is helping our students to be the bright scholars they were always meant to be!

I have recently volunteered at IAR, and from the initial orientation I was very impressed. You can tell that all of the available resources are put to good use to benefit the children in every way possible. The communtity needs more programs like it, to help improve our children's quality of life.

The In Arms Reach Program (IAR) facilitates an after-school program for middles school students, where i help the children as a volunteer and tutor with their homework and subjects that they might have trouble with. Usually, when the kids have completed their homework, they eat snacks which is provided by IAR, and play fun games like hangman and we have mock spelling bees.

I have worked with In Arms reach for more than a decade. Terrence Stevens has dedicated himself fully to the missionof the organization that he founded to help some of the most vulnerable children in our society. The Sophie Davis School, where I am the Deanof Student Affairs, has provided volunteer tutors and mentors to IAR for many years. The student volunteers provide a valuable service to the children that IAR helps and perhaps gain so muchmore in return.
IAR is a wonderful organization providing a much needed service to this community.

I am a mentor for In Arms Reach, and the times I have spent with my mentee has been a reminder of how truly great In Arms Reach is. They're mission is to provide children of incarcerated parents with someone they can turn to for guidance, assistance, and even friendship; being able to provide this for my menthe has been a rewarding experience, and my mentee is not the only child that has had a positive impact from the work of In Arms Reach. This program should be widely recognized and praised.
