Mission: Impano Academy Rwanda is an organization that seeks to provide sustainable support to disadvantaged children in Rwanda, Africa through sports (Track and Field). We offer youth that are naturally talented but never had the opportunity to develop to their potential and use it to change their lives and positively influence that of their communities. What we do: Develop sustainable programs to encourage and increase participation of girls in sports. Promote the sport of track and field while focusing on positive health, character, teamwork, attitude and strengthening youth both physically and mentally. Use Impano's Talent Identification System to identify, select and develop Rwandans future leaders and heroes in Sports. Turn talented underserved children into model student-athletes prepared for elite level athletics and international university enrollment. As an emerging non-profit, our programs each target different focus areas. The unifying purpose of this outreach is to encourage the growth of sports (track and field) participation in Rwanda as a way to cultivate personal, community, national, and international development objectives. The word Impano in Kinyarwanda (Rwandans native tongue) means a gift and we want to nurture and develop the natural abilities of the Rwandan children who are a gift to their community, country and our world.
