I have been with this charity since the beginning. They are goal driven, have an inspiring vision, and are always looking for ways to educate that encourage positive change for the future. Everything is science based. No sensationalized claims, no partisanship, and no drama. We are passionate about what we do and have accomplished so much in a short period of time. I can't wait to see what the future holds.
I’ve been volunteering with Imagine our Florida for about 2 years and I absolutely love it! Why? We teach people of all ages to respect, connect, and coexist with our native animals. We also teach people how important it is to be kind to Mother Nature, so we can continue to enjoy all her beauty. Every living thing, rather it be a plant, insect, human, or animal has a purpose and it is a vital part of the ecosystem. IOF is an organization that uses scientific based education. It is a true delight to watch someone’s face light up when they learn something we have to offer. We teach all ages from 2 to 92 because everyone can learn. Do you know what to do if you see a gopher tortoise crossing the road? Are you allowed to touch them? The answer is yes, as long as you help them cross the road in the direction they are going and not place them in water. Why? A gopher tortoise can drown if placed in water. If you don’t take them in the direction they are going, once you leave, they will cross the road again. They are on a mission and will not stop until that mission is accomplished.
