Mission: Our mission is to help educate the world's poorest billion people with low-cost video technology. Our positioning statement - we bring long-term, sustainable development to communities in the developing world by teaching local individuals and community based organizations to deliver the latest training information in health, agriculture, education and other disciplines. We do this by working with subject matter experts and teaching locals how to produce educational videos using low-cost video cameras and cordless projectors in typically hard to reach locations.
Target demographics: deliver knowledge where video has never been seen before
Geographic areas served: Marginalized communities around the world
Programs: Provided tailored hands-on, four-day, training workshops as well as the necessary equipment for making, editing, and disseminating culturally sensitive and locally relevant material. Provided video equipment necessary for filming and projecting video. The equipment is portable, self-powered, and affordable.
I love the work that OMPT is doing and it was a wonderdul experience to be part of their experience. It is a great opportunity to learn about cultures around the world and to be part of a impactful start up company.
There are so many global issues in life that we feel powerless against. What can we realistically do to help fight Ebola? Poverty? Drought? OMPT is a mission-driven organization that directly combats these problems. OMPT educates people who need help the most and empowers them to make changes in their community for themselves. It's a great example of teaching a man or woman to fish, not giving them a fish.
Polder is the brain child of Matt York. His mission to help the neediest people around the world through OMPT provides a sustainable and impactful model that is truly making a difference. Governments, NGOs and front-line workers in health, agriculture and education have all benefited from the services provided by OMPT. Matt's passion and compassion to help is truly inspirational.

Since learning about OMPT I have been overwhelmingly fascinated with the work they do. Using video technology to spark behavior change allows the world's bottom billion to gain the necessary tools to grow. The selfless staff and volunteers commit their time and energy going into developing countries spreading a wealth of knowledge typically taken for granted in the developed world. Kudo's OMPT!
