Programs: Program service accomplishments during the year:- hosted a ce-certified membership conference featuring national and local experts presenting the latest developments in policy, oncology treatment, and economic trends. - held monthly conference calls for the illinois managers to network, share ideas and discuss issues. - offered webinars and other resources to members and their pratices as a co-sponsor of the state society education series. - sponsored a business conference dedicated to administrators, managers, and business staff in member practices along with the missouri oncology society. - sponsored the association of community cancer centers app for their national conference. -recognized outstanding illinois fellows with awards at the imos annual membership conference. - disseminated healthcare updates and oncology news, through the imos website, imosillinois. Com and the imos e-newsletter. - contributed to asco' young investigator award to provide funding to promising investigators to encourage and promote quality research in clinical oncology. - provided members opportunities to participate in the vice president's cancer moonshot initiative, and assist in developing recommendations around community cancer care through focus groups and meetings in washington d. C. - led a successful advocacy campaign to inform and educate state and federal legislators on the negative impact of cms' proposed part b demonstration payment model on cancer care. In december, cms officially withdrew the proposal. - submitted comments to cms on the macra rule, opps and pfs rules, and the icer methodology for value assessments of oncology drugs. - sent letters to il state house & senate majority and minority leader, governor rauner, and il insurance commissioner, melissa dowling, advocating for a fix to the il budget crisis and expressing grave concern over its effects on delayed reimbursement and cancer patient's care. - developed robut support for members participating in the oncology care model (ocm) through accc's oncology care model collaborative, including workshops, call, and advocating on behalf of the ocm practices with cmmi. - provided members educational opportunities under medicare's new quality payment program (created by macra) through webinars, calls and meetings.
