IGNITE Worldwide is an amazing organization that works hard to encourage girls to see careers in STEM. They offer programming that gives girls real world, hands on experiences and helps motivate them to understand that they don't have to come from a privileged background, etc. in order to pursue their goals. We need to work hard to fight gender inequity and IGNITE Worldwide is an organization leading that mission!
I started as a volunteer 5 years ago and then was invited to become a board member a few years later. I've been passionate in supporting the mission of Ignite because:
-it provides STEM education awareness and career opportunities to young girls and non-binary youth
-these programs happen during school hours
-students feel inspired at the end of the event, and equally the volunteers get fulfilled after engaging with the students
-well coordinated with Ignite staff
I highly recommend Ignite as THE STEM org for girls and non-binary youth. It is easy, fun, motivating and purposeful.
