Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Human Services

Mission: Mission: We are organized to provide the members of our community with the basic tools needed to survive and to empower them to be engaged in achieving and accomplishing their goals. I Am My Brother’s Keeper Ministry (IAMBKM) Inc. Is a 501 C (3) Nonprofit Organization Incorporated In 2018. We operate to provide Richmond County with the following services: day shelter, holistic counseling, food and nutrition, hygiene products, employment skills, clothing, healthcare education, and social interactions. We also advocate for homeless/transient persons and provide intensive life skills coaching. Poverty is the common denominator in all the clients we serve. Since the 1980’s the homeless population in Augusta, Georgia has increased over the decades. In February 2019, I Am My Brother’s Keeper Ministry (IAMBKM) received its 501(c)(3) Public Charity status, solidifying its commitment to the community as a Homeless Day Shelter in Augusta Georgia that provides services in a holistic manner. Initially, IAMBKM started by offering Bible studies and handing out free sack lunches to those experiencing homelessness. The simple act of distributing meals soon became a beacon of hope for the Harrisburg community. Citizens with a shared concern started to volunteer, drawn by the magnetism of compassion and a shared vision. The ministry's heartwarming services didn't stop with Bible studies and food. IAMBKM's doors opened wider, introducing a clothes closet, showers for the homeless, and a daytime sanctuary known as "The Love Center." A warm and inviting "Welcome to The Love Center'' became the anthem of support and care.
