Labors of love by Huntington Beach Tree Society volunteers compound year over year. The HB Central Park a "Secret Garden" and Urban Forest of more than 7,000 California-friendly and Ca-native trees delight visitors throughout every season. In 2019, great strides were made on forestation of the Shipley to Shore Nature Trail, a 3-mile trail that winds through the park, past the Urban Forest, and down to the Pacific Ocean. It provides us a rare opportunity: to restore the land’s natural beauty, and create a trail where visitors enjoy fresh air and exercise in spectacular surroundings! Water-wise foliage such as California Oaks, lemonade berry bushes, lantana flowers and many others are beginning to attract bees, butterflies, birds and other wildlife. Massive boulders dot the shoulders of the trail for way-finding and rest stops. Your gifts to complete this precious resource are much appreciated and continue to grow !
I have lived in Huntington Beach for 10 years and have seen the HB Tree Society transform the city. Parks, medians and the Urban Forest have been beautified by this amazing group. They have a strong volunteer base and we always see them working on weekends. We are strong supporters of this amazing group. They do great things for the environment and our city.
